Playskill is an award-winning specialist early intervention charity supporting pre-school children with physical disabilities and delays, and their families, in Hertfordshire. We are the only charity providing this type of support, free of charge, in the county.

About the role: 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join and work in a multidisciplinary team alongside a Physiotherapist and Speech and Language Therapist, family support and specialist workers, and the families/carers of the children. 

Skills and Experience Required: 

• Qualified Occupational Therapist

• Relevant experience in the assessment and treatment of children with a physical disability 

• Clear understanding of current legislation regarding safeguarding of children 

• Knowledge of GDPR legislation to ensure clear understanding of confidentiality and the need for data protection 

• IT literate 

• Good communication, empathy, numeracy, and administrative skills

Job Title: Independent Gender Violence Advocate (IGVA)

Location: The GAIA Centre (Lambeth)

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as an IGVA supporting women and children who are impacted by different strands of Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG). The independent gender violence advocate will work closely with victims of gender-based violence from the point of crisis, to provide high quality independent advocacy and support to survivors of gender-based violence at the highest risk and their children.

The role will be part of increasing the ability of partner agencies to recognise, reject and respond appropriately and safely to all forms of gender-based violence (including domestic violence, sexual, financial and emotional abuse, female genital mutilation, forced marriage and honour-based violence). The job involves working within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership protocols and procedures that prioritise the safety of survivors. The post holder will empower survivors by providing them with emotional, practical and personal welfare support. The job involves ensuring that women are provided with a safe, supportive and welcoming environment, enabling them to access their rights, make decisions and increase their life options

The job involves working within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership protocols and procedures that prioritise the safety of survivors. Job Title: Training Officer 

Location: Belfast or Sligo (with responsibilities in both regions)

Role Brief:

This is an exciting new role for an enthusiastic and innovative professional seeking to further their career in the training and youth development field. The post holder will be responsible for  delivering a range of workshops, seminars and accreditations as part of our new cross-border PEACE Academy programme in Belfast and Sligo, funded by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB) PEACEPLUS programme https://www.seupb.eu/

The aim of this new three-year programme, is to deliver and evidence a PEACE Academy pathway of engagement, learning, social action and employability that will inspire young people from communities in Northern Ireland and Ireland to create shared experiences and build a long-term response to sectarianism, racism and hate on a cross community and cross border basis. 

We are seeking an experienced training professional who can lead on delivering our training offer for young people across these regions; supporting our youth workers to progress them from grassroots activities delivered in community settings through workshops, training, and accreditation and into onward career initiatives and pathways offered by our partners.

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Planning and administration of a range of workshops, seminars, and accreditations for young people in Sligo and Belfast in line with agreed targets. 

• Working with our regional coordinators on arranging suitable venues, support staff, resources and materials required for each workshop/seminar/course. 

• Delivery and assessment of training courses through Open College Network including internal verification. 

• Maintaining our iPads and online learner portal, ensuring e-workbooks are completed and uploaded and devices are wiped clean after each use.

• Working with our wider project team on the administrative training function ensuring all e-workbooks are submitted in a timely manner, certificates distributed and invoices are sent to our Finance Officer marked clearly for this programme. 

• Working with regional Coordinators on the development of careers events and initiatives alongside a range of partner organisations and employers. 

• Collating and sharing key quantitative output data and qualitative feedback and case studies with our regional Coordinators and Monitoring Officer enabling them to track progress against targets and upload dedicated learner information to our VIEWs monitoring software in a timely and efficient manner.

Person Specification/Key skills: 

• QTS status or min. Level 3 Award in Education & Training 

• Experience of designing workshops and training materials

• Experience of delivery and verification of OCN accredited courses

• Experience of working with employers to create youth progression pathways

• Youth work qualification or relevant experience

• Ability to prioritise and manage workload in a fast-paced environment

In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

Delivery of Spear Programme

• As a coach you will support Spear centres in London and across the UK by preparing and coaching Spear Foundation group sessions and 1-1s, ensuring that young people are engaged, retained and work-ready by the end of this initial phase of the programme
• Quickly building relationships with young people on the programme and managing culture and attitudes in the training room
• Adapting the Spear coaching material according to the needs of the Trainees and managing behaviour effectively
• You will be required to travel outside of London and potentially stay for a period of time at the centre. All business expenses will be covered during the working week

Spear Centre Support

• You will form part of a central support team that enables Spear Centres to deliver high quality, high impact sessions to young people when one of their team is sick or the centre is short-staffed
• You will be placed where the support is needed most, working peripatetically across centres. This could look like 2 months based in one centre or various weeks working across different centres both in London and across the UK

Trainee recruitment

• Supporting Spear Centres to ensure that the maximum number of Spear Trainees are enrolled on each programme, through active face-to-face recruitment

Active participation in and support for Resurgo’s team and mission

• Help build and develop Resurgo’s ethos and Christian life as a team member including leading and contributing to daily team prayer meetings as an integral part of Resurgo’s operation and for the success of its mission

The LSO is actively expanding its digital offer through the work of LSO Live, Discovery and Marketing and is running a Digital Asset Management project to provide greater access to its digital content assets across the organisation and in commercial, non-commercial and academic contexts.

What you’ll be doing 

The post holder will help advance Ukie’s policy work on aspects of UK and international policy impacting the games and interactive entertainment industry through: 

• Monitoring policy changes and providing in-depth analysis, research, and reports for internal stakeholders. 

• Relationship building and engagement with Ukie members and wider sector stakeholders, including attendance at internal and external stakeholder meetings and coalition industry groups. 

• Support the Senior Policy Manager in research and drafting for Ukie’s external consultation responses, co-ordinating with members and facilitating internal forums for discussions on particular issues. 

• Support in organising events and engagement with policy makers within Whitehall, Westminster, the Devolved Governments and with regional, combined and local authorities as well as with our global partners in the EU, US and further afield.

• Assisting the policy and research teams with major public affairs projects and campaigns according to the Ukie’s internal strategy and drawing on Ukie’s internal data and external partners where appropriate. 

• Supporting and promoting Ukie at external political meetings, including our bi-annual Westminster Games Week. 

• Support in raising the profile of Ukie and its significant policy priorities through external communications in partnership with the Ukie campaigns team, and through public scrutiny such as the use of written parliamentary questions. 

• Acting as the lead point of contact for the APPG on Video Games and Esports to which Ukie acts as the secretariat and taking joint responsibility for liaising with its members. 

• Draft external policy communications such as the Ukie Policy Byte, the bi-weekly political newsletter, with support from Senior Policy Manager and Head of Policy where necessary. 

• Be responsible for the team administration of internal stakeholder meetings, including sending out invites, taking minutes and preparing relevant material as well as maintaining up to date email lists of all stakeholders. 

Relationship Management 

• Develop and maintain relationships with games industry member businesses and a wide range of external bodies; including partner organisations, government officials and other trade bodies. 

• Support the Senior Policy Manager and Head of Policy in the management of Ukie’s internal stakeholder groups – including Ukie’s policy group and its various working sub groups. 

• Maintain stakeholder engagement trackers and act as a point of contact for external engagement with Parliamentarians, regional politicians and their offices. 

• Support the Head of Policy and Chief Executive in any external engagements. 

• Support the policy team and wider Senior Management team with other reasonable tasks as required. 

Qualifications and experience required for this role: Qualified by experience. You don’t need to hold a degree to apply for this role, but experience of working in a policy or government affairs facing role, public affairs agency or regulatory environment would be advantageous. On-the-job training will be provided via Ukie or external providers where appropriate and will be part of a structured development plan.  

  Hours of Work:  

• Monday to Friday – 9.00am to 5.30pm 

• Expectation that some evening and weekend work may be required to attend or run Ukie events as the business requires.

Global Safeguarding Director

Contract: Permanent, Full Time, 35 hours per week

Location: The role can be based in the Kenya (home based) or the UK (London office) subject to right-to-work eligibility in the respective countries.

As our Global Safeguarding Director, you will oversee all areas of safeguarding for the WaterAid federation, including the prevention of sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment, safeguarding children and safeguarding adults at risk.

In this role, you will:

• Lead the development of strategies and plans to embed safeguarding protection into the work of WaterAid and our partners.
• Work closely with Chief Executives, senior leaders and board members across the WaterAid federation to strengthen safeguarding governance.
• Oversee the continued development of WaterAid’s global network of safeguarding champions at member, country and team level.
• Champion WaterAid’s commitment to equity, inclusion and safeguarding across the federation, and equip others to do the same.

Requirements

To be successful, you will need:

• To be an inspiring leader. Able to communicate the importance of safeguarding to multiple stakeholders, with a track record of having contributed to the development of safe and trusted organisational cultures.
• Significant experience of working in or leading a safeguarding function within an international setting with extensive experience of working with, and leading on, protection, safeguarding and accountability standards, and of implementing policy and practice.
• Experience of working with a range of stakeholders in a development context and implementing safeguarding initiatives with partners and at a community level.
• Strong knowledge of UK and international legal frameworks and experience of working with regulatory bodies.

Although not essential, we’d prefer you to have:

• The ability to speak languages spoken in countries where WaterAid works, particularly French, Portuguese and Spanish.
• Experience of working in the international development sector and of living and working in one of the countries where WaterAid has programmes.

About The Role

Do you have a genuine interest in supporting people to rebuild their lives and the ability to empathise with others?

We're looking for an enthusiastic Complex Needs Worker with considerable experience of working with people with substance misuse, mental health problems and knowledge of the problems that confront homeless people with complex needs. You will be joining the team in our Islington Progression Pathway, a  service that provides accommodation and support to individuals with complex needs in a recovery focused way. The team works collaboratively with clients in a safe and supportive environment in developing goals, plans and strategies to better manage their mental health, substance misuse and any associated risks.  

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Working as part of a multidisciplinary team to create an environment of person-centred support for clients with complex needs, maintaining a safe environment which clients who have experienced complex trauma are able to build their confidence and discover opportunities for positive change, in line with Psychologically Informed Environment principles and St Mungo’s Framework.
• Identifying and developing external relationships that increase accessibility to support within Islington for clients with complex needs.
• Providing training, support and case management to team members
• This role is Monday-Friday 9am-5pm

About you

We are looking for someone who has a good understanding of substance use and ideally one of the following; Mental health, Trauma Informed Care and/or Psychologically Informed Environments. To be successful in this role you will also require:

• The ability to maintain enthusiasm for a high level of contact with clients on a day to day basis.
• An understanding of a Person Centred approach and a non-judgemental way of working with people who have been homeless, and have perhaps had negative experiences of services.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work with others whilst managing your own time.
• The ability to empower individuals to make positive changes and a willingness to develop these valuable skills. 
• The ability to work flexibly which may include some weekends to ensure continuity of the service.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Variety is looking for a Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager to join the fundraising team as we are launching an exciting new multi-year partnership later this year. This role is a new position at the charity to support our ambitious growth to deliver award winning partnerships and raise money from corporate supporters, who are key to achieving our mission to fund life-changing practical support to disabled and disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.

You will be joining the charity at an exciting time as we are launching a three-year strategy to drive growth with lots of new fundraising plans in place alongside a great team and a new Director of Fundraising. You will have a portfolio of large partnerships to manage, and with your experience you will support the delivery of the corporate new business strategy, ensuring we maximise leads from all of our high-profile events. You will play a key role in our collaborative and high-performing team and grow your own team as required to deliver the partnership strategy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

●Lead account management of corporate partnerships, delivering first class stewardship, increasing engagement and supporting delivery for maximum potential for Variety

●Develop business leads to populate the corporate pipeline working with the new business manager, Director of Fundraising and CEO, for coordinating new business approaches

●Manage the largest national partnerships at Variety with integrated comms plans, staff and customer engagement and impact reporting

●Keep account plans and Salesforce, fundraising, communications, finance and impact reporting up to date, ensuring we meet key deadlines

●Attend Variety fundraising and awareness events, maximizing engagement opportunities for corporate partners and building relationships with supporters, while working closely with the services and communications team

●Manage budgeting of income from partners and reforecasting income

●Collaborate with the programmes team to plan our corporate partners Sunshine Coach presentations, Great Days Out, and visits to partner schools

●Coordinate staff volunteering for corporate partners when available

●Represent Variety externally at events and cheque presentations

●Participate in staff meetings, fundraising team meetings and contribute to the success of Variety’s fundraising strategy

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

Essential

•Five years’ experience working on a charity corporate partnerships team

•Experience managing five or six figure partnerships at a national level

•Experience of excellent donor stewardship
