The Young People’s Volunteer Coordinator is an exciting new post at Barnsley CVS funded through Great Childhood Ambitions (GCA). The five strategic priorities for GCA are: Belong / Explore / Dream / Grow / Connect.

The under Youth Volunteer Programme will support these priorities by working with young people to:

· belong in their communities,

· explore volunteer opportunities,

· dream about their futures and be work ready,

· grow in confidence and experience to support their wellbeing,

· connect within their communities and reduce barriers to accessing support.

Your role will be key to enabling this to happen.  You will act as the key connector between young people and charities.  This will involve working with opportunities that already exist, as well as encouraging, mentoring and training charities to provide tailored volunteering for young people.  You will also provide 1-1 support to young people already actively looking together with reaching out to communities such as children in care, UASC’s, those with SEND needs and communities who may not naturally consider volunteering.  Volunteering gives young people a chance to learn new skills, enhance their CV, learn about the workplace, meet new people, improve their confidence and expand their horizon. Some young people may naturally consider this, whereas others, may not have this opportunity presented to them. This role is intended to address some of the barriers and support young people into fulfilling volunteer roles.  You will be a champion in Barnsley for raising the profile of young volunteering and the value it brings to our communities.

You will need a passion for volunteering and young people, creativity and energy to work with young people and the ability to communicate with a diverse range of people in both a written and spoken context.

Join the innovative Bolton Listening Lounge, providing adults in Bolton with mental health and wellbeing support. Working in partnership with Greater Manchester Mental Health Foundation Trust and BAND/FAmily Action, the Bolton Listening Lounge is a collaborative approach to providing mental health and wellbeing support from late afternoon into the evening. It provides a safe space for people who are experiencing mental distress or who feel that they are going through a personal crisis. Our staff will offer low level calming interventions and one to one support to identify the cause of the emotional distress and to put in place a plan including signposting and referring on to other organisations and services.

We are looking for someone with knowledge and understanding of Mental Health conditions and their impact on daily living and a strong track-record of working with individuals and their families to deliver positive outcomes.  You will work within the team to prototype new ways of supporting individuals, and contribute to the ongoing development of the team by sharing learning and by listening and responding to feedback from people who use the service.

Job Purpose

The Operations & Project Manager will oversee planning, project delivery, and commercial operations, ensuring that St Bride Foundation continues to fulfil its mission while growing its financial sustainability. This role is instrumental in managing strategic initiatives, optimizing processes, and leading teams to ensure efficient operations across venue hire, theatre management, and other income-generating activities.

 

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Planning & Project Management

· Develop and maintain Gantt charts, project timelines, and key performance indicators for organisational initiatives.

You will manage and coordinate a team of highly skilled and dedicated clinicians, in the service delivery of a range of NICE guideline recommended therapy interventions, offered to our clients, who are survivors of torture and organised violence.

You will report to the Head of Clinical Services, London and operate as an integral part of the London Clinical Services Team. This is an exciting chance to join us as we place survivor empowerment and movement building at the heart of our four year strategy, and work together to increase the number of clients who can access our services. It is based in a centre specifically designed to be a safe and welcoming environment for survivors and includes gardens and growing facilities.

About the role

This is a wide-ranging position, and your key areas of responsibility will include:

• To manage a multi-disciplinary team, including paid staff and volunteers from different professions and disciplines and provide professional and clinical supervision to qualified clinicians and trainees in the service including, clinical/counselling psychologists. This role may also include providing remote clinical supervision to clinicians in our other regional centres (North West England and Scotland).
• To ensure that Freedom from Torture's clinical model continues to be fully rolled out, with particular emphasis on survivor empowerment and evidence-based practice for addressing PTSD and other mental health impacts of torture.
• Championing people development as well as influence delivery of evidenced -based practice, clinical standards, quality initiatives and audit based services.
• To formulate and negotiate psychological treatment and management plans for referred clients and to provide psychological treatment for a small caseload, using a range of specialist psychological interventions appropriate to the service in line with the new clinical model "Pathways" (drawing on a range of evidence-based models for the presenting problems of the clients).
• Being an effective role model and leader to encourage, develop and enhance skills of others.

About you

This is an important role within Freedom from Torture. To be successful in this role you must have a high level of commitment to maintaining excellent standards of client care and service delivery. It is a key requirement that you must have knowledge of appropriate clinical standards and external regulatory bodies. You must also have sound financial awareness and experience of balancing the provision of quality care against budgetary parameters.

To be considered for this role you must be a Psychologist registered with HCPC and have qualified with a doctorate or equivalent in either clinical or counselling psychology. You must have professional experience of working with clients with complex PTSD and have post-qualification experience of using evidence-based trauma focused therapy models. It is essential that you have a clear understanding of the experience of refugees and people seeking asylum, both in terms of pre-flight experience and the experience of living in exile. You must have previous management and supervision experience and be able to provide demonstrable examples of how you have successfully led and influenced clinical teams within community or health care settings.

We’re looking for a part-time Grants and Trusts Officer (2.5 days a week). Office or home based, they will be a vital member of our fundraising team, working closely with programme staff and the CEO to continue to grow grant funding for our work – shaping funding bids, managing grants and reporting, and building relationships with funders and funding networks. 

Purpose of role:

Increasing and diversifying the sources of grant funding for A Rocha UK’s work is key to our fundraising strategy. The Grants and Trusts Officer will play a key role identifying, securing, and managing grants from a range of sources, including small trusts, large foundations, and Church denominations. In doing so, they will work closely with programme staff , CEO and Finance Director to develop funding bids, and coordinate closely with other members of the fundraising team, such as the Major Donor Officer. They will also manage occasional legacies. The successful candidate will have previous experience securing funds from trusts, as well as excellent writing skills, an interest in the environment and an active Christian faith.

Role description

As a Researcher at Jigsaw you will:

• Co-design quantitative, qualitative and mixed-methods methodologies
• Collect data, both face-to-face and remotely
• Clean, validate and analyse data
• Contribute to writing reports and presentations
• Present research findings for a variety of internal and external audiences
• Collaborate with Jigsaw partners and clients on data collection where relevant
• Support proposal development for potential new projects
• Contribute to Jigsaw’s internal work, including participating in internal meetings and supporting key internal priorities

Person specification

We are looking for candidates who possess the following essential skills, competencies and experiences:

• Understanding of the project cycle - proposal development, designing mixed-methods methodologies, collecting data, analysing data, writing reports and presenting findings
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to identify problems and solutions

• Attention to detail (in data collection, analysis and writing)

In addition, the following skills, experiences and knowledge are desirable:

• Strong project management skills, including the ability to design project workflows, monitor milestones, and adapt plans in response to challenges, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are met
• Experience of qualitative and quantitative education research design methodologies, such as mixed methods, quasi-experimental, participatory, case study or process evaluation methods
• Experience of qualitative analysis and qualitative data analysis software
• Experience of statistical methods (descriptive & inferential statistics)
• Arabic or French language proficiency
• Experience of delivering training - both face-to-face and online
• Experience working in a low-income country, ideally in education

What we offer

The role is full-time (37.5 hours per week). The role will be based in London and the successful candidate will be required to come into the Jigsaw office at least three days per week, plus occasional international travel.

The salary is £26k - £36k pro rata (starting salary depending on the competencies and experience).
