About the role:
We began a contract with the Ministry of Justice in June 2021, delivering a pan London Housing Advice & Interventions Service, in partnership with St Mungo's. With Single Homeless Project staff co-located in probation offices, you will be working in close partnership with Probation Services, to support people on probation to either sustain their current accommodation or to secure new housing as needed.
We are seeking people who could deliver housing advice, guidance and support to clients. Working with a caseload in your local designated boroughs, you will produce comprehensive and high-quality assessments on their support needs; particularly their housing, employment and financial needs and follow the most suitable pathway for them.
We are also looking for people who are interested in working in this sector and with this client group. We encourage applications from those, who are also at the beginning of their career path - graduates and those with transferrable skills & experience.
About you:
- Some understanding of working in supported housing or floating support services, with a demonstrable knowledge of Housing and other related Legislation or a relevant qualification
- Experience of managing complex and difficult situations in relation to vulnerable client group(s).
- Ability to effectively liaise with a range of service providers or agencies in order to establish or improve services for clients.
- An understanding of the principles underlying a quality service, and customer focused, with proven ability to empower service users.
- Ability to be self-motivating, work under pressure, and manage time effectively, prioritising different areas of work according to need

- Responsibility for monitoring our work, completing simple reports, writing case studies, making sure volunteers complete their data entry after advising clients, and running case management statistics using AdvicePro, our case management system) (training on AdvicePro will be provided)

Appeals & Representation Duties
Responsibility for our legal appeals representation service, including:
- Triaging clients, including reading appellant’s hearing bundles to assess the merits of their case
- Case management of appellants’' appeal cases, (ie, smooth management of appellants' cases from inception to post-hearing)
- Attending hearings
- Guiding and case managing lawyers/law students on applications for leave to appeal/set aside to the Upper Tribunal/Judiciary, (from the Lower Tribunal). Full training will be given
Qualifications: You will have or be working towards a law degree or equivalent.

- A good understanding of the law in any jurisdiction

This is a new role for the Circuit, replacing a volunteer. In designing the position, the Circuit has aimed for maximum flexibility to secure the best candidate for the role. Initially, the person will need physically to attend some meetings to familiarise themselves with the Circuit's operations and ensure a smooth hand-over. For the right person, though, there will be considerable flexibility about how the duties are fulfilled in the longer-term. The Richmond & Hounslow Circuit comprises seven churches in southwest London. As with all Methodist circuits, these churches function autonomously yet collaborate closely in their ministry and mission efforts. The Circuit oversees joint resources, including staff and property. Presently, it employs four full-time ordained ministers, one full-time lay pastor, and a part-time administrator. As a part of the Methodist Church, its mission is “to respond to the gospel of God’s love in Christ and to live out its discipleship in worship and mission”. The Volunteer Administration Executive will sit within the CoppaFeel! Education Team and will work closely with the Volunteer Community Executive and the Volunteer Community Manager. We have over 250 volunteers involved in our core education volunteer programmes as well as opportunities across fundraising and events. Our volunteers include university students, former fundraisers and supporters.
Volunteers are at the heart of our community value and play a vital role in helping us to deliver our key education programmes. The main aim of this role is to ensure our volunteers have a positive experience during their time with us and are supported to spread our lifesaving message.

CoppaFeel! exists to educate and remind every young person in the UK that checking their chest isn’t only fun, it could save their life. We are the first breast cancer charity in the UK to create awareness amongst young people, with the aim of instilling a new healthy habit that could one day save their life. We are a small team which, collectively, has one almighty big voice. We were founded out of a need to right wrongs, and when we hear of more people diagnosed late, or young people dying from this disease, we know there isn’t a more powerful reminder to get up and get out of bed every morning.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Play a key role in overseeing the day to day administration of volunteer programmes
- Be the key contact and link between volunteers and external organisations who wish to book an awareness talk, stall or other volunteer-involving activity
- Communicate with volunteers, assisting with questions and requests through the management of shared email inboxes
- Coordinate bookings and scheduling for awareness talks, stalls or other volunteer-involving activity using our volunteer management platform and related digital tools
- Support the Volunteer Community Executive with the administration of recruitment, induction, onboarding, training and supervision of volunteers, including support for community events.

- Maintain volunteer records using our database and report against volunteer activity

The Volunteering Team is a collaborative and supportive team sitting within Shelter’s Equity, Inclusion & Culture Directorate. We are passionate about the positive impacts of volunteering for both individuals and causes and believe volunteers are a vital part of Shelter’s Fight for Home.
Shelter involves around 2,000 volunteers in our shops, offices and local communities. The Volunteering Team enable a coordinated and consistent approach to how we involve volunteers across Shelter and Shelter Scotland. We provide the insight, policies and best practice approaches to ensure all our volunteers have a quality volunteering experience.
About the Role
As a Volunteering Administrator, you will be essential to the coordination of the Volunteering Team’s work in developing a consistent, inclusive and high-quality volunteering offer. You’ll be delivering administrative support across the team, enabling smooth delivery of the service. This will include managing our busy Mailboxes, processing elements of volunteer recruitment and administrating our volunteer database, Better Impact. Working on the database forms a large part of this role; as well as routine tasks such as data reporting, you’ll be working on more in-depth database development. This includes leading on a piece of work restructuring the way our database is set up.
You’ll also be supporting volunteer managers through delivering training demonstrations on our database, creating process guides and providing advice. You’ll provide additional admin support across the Volunteering Team, including coordinating meetings and managing agendas. You’ll be a key member of the team with in-depth knowledge and understanding on volunteering processes and policies to promote our volunteering culture across Shelter and Shelter Scotland.
With this role, we can offer the option of completing an apprenticeship in a related subject. This will involve spending approximately 20% of your work time completing education/learning for the duration of the apprenticeship. About you
Having strong administration skills with confident use of databases is essential for this role. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable taking ownership in processes, including introducing and delivering new ideas, methods or processes. Having a proactive approach and the ability to manage time effectively while working in a fast-paced environment are all important too.
Also important for this role is having excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with colleagues across our organisation. Experience of delivering training or presentations is a bonus, but more-so a willingness to develop your skills in this area. You will be responsible for providing first line support surrounding use of the Imperial College Union (ICU) building and technology infrastructure, working closely with the digital systems function of the Union and College ICT to ensure that user issues are resolved promptly and efficiently.
Your role will act as a triage for incoming queries to the Systems team, resolving queries where possible and escalating to senior staff members and College ICT where appropriate. In addition, you will also manage ongoing tickets with the wider College ICT service desk, proactively monitoring the status of tickets and seeing them through to resolution.
The role will also be responsible for providing installation, setup and tracking of technology and physical equipment, allowing proper visibility of our resources for management purposes.
You will be responsible for ensuring the proper maintenance of all Union spaces, promptly reporting defects, and arranging repair work as needed.
