It is our mission that any woman who needs our service should be able to find her way to a Smart Works centre.  

In April 2022, we launched a new Three-Year Plan that will see the charity double the number of women helped annually from 5,000 to 10,000 women. To achieve this, we will grow our existing centres and open new centres in key areas of need across the UK. 

Smart Works Newcastle opened in April 2018. In our five years of operation we have supported over 1,700 women on their journey towards employment.

About the role 

Every woman who comes to a Smart Works centre is referred by another organisation or charity. Across the UK, over 400 organisations refer women to Smart Works, including job centres, refuges, prisons, work programme providers and other charities.

Without our referral partners, Smart Works would not be able to reach women in need and help them to succeed at interview and start a new chapter. Building and nurturing these partnerships is central to our work and success as a charity.

Based at our centre in Reading, you will work and travel across Berkshire to conduct outreach to ensure Smart Works receives consistent referrals and performs well against our ambitious targets to help more women year on year. in practice, this will include attending meetings with partners, organising events to showcase our service and managing all referral communications.

You will be part of the wider service delivery team in Reading, supporting on the running of the centre to the highest possible standard. This will enable you to understand and speak to the support available to unemployed women in Berkshire and what specifically Smart Works Reading can do to increase this support.

Smart Works Reading has an umbrella organisation, Smart Works Charity based in London, and there may be some infrequent travel to London. There will be liaison with the London team to support induction and training, plus participation in regular on-line meetings, phone calls and attending our annual conferences. 

Duties and responsibilities

Reporting to the Centre Manager, the successful candidate will lead a range of activities, including:

• Managing referral partner relationships across Berkshire, nurturing existing relationships and onboarding new partnerships
• Undertake research and creating project plans to set briefs or funding to engage referral partners
• Organise, deliver and attend events across Berkshire that increase referrals to Smart Works Reading
• Analyse and manage a robust database of current referral data and potential referral partners, to identify opportunities, priorities and share successes
• Share regular, engaging communications with referral partners
• Pilot new initiatives and ideas with referral partners to increase and maintain engagement
• Support the smooth running of the Reading centre, such as by answering calls and booking appointments

• A proven track record of managing relationships and partnerships
• Outstanding interpersonal skills with an adaptable style to suit seniority levels and stakeholders in a variety of situations
• Confident in representing Smart Works, including presenting in person to large groups, in writing to potential partners and over the phone
• Ability to organise and run external events with a variety of stakeholders
• Target driven, able to perform well against KPIs

You’ll have an active role providing LGBTQ+ affirmative support for LGBTQ+ children and young people. 

This is an exciting job opportunity to join a dynamic and committed team in a front-line role to support and deliver the activities and services of elop’s LGBTQ+ Children & Young People’s Service.

In this role you will have opportunity to design and deliver innovative youth support programmes, groups & other activities; provide LGBTQ+ affirmative support, guidance and mentoring on a one- to- one basis; work with our wider family work programme, support families with LGBTQ+ children and deliver work in schools to students & teaching staff.

You will have lead responsibility for our LGBTQ+ Young Peoples Service, including promotion, & administration, along with the induction, support & supervision of sessional staff & volunteers. 

Initially you will be working remotely via home-based working whilst elop relocates its offices & centre transitioning back to fulltime in-person working & service provision during 2024.  Some services are in person in East London. 

Full Time: 37 hours per week   

You must be available to work Tuesday evenings & once a month on a Sunday afternoon.  There will be other evenings and occasional other weekend working required.

Job description

 Mind in Tower Hamlets, Newham and Redbridge (MindTHNR) have been subcontracted by NHS East London Foundation Trust to deliver employment support as part of Tower Hamlets Talking Therapies provision. Tower Hamlets Talking Therapies offers psychological therapies to those in primary care with common mental health disorders. The employment service is funded via the Department of Work and Pensions and Department of Health as part of a national pilot scheme.

Purpose of role

The post holder will operate as part of a team of employment advisors, working closely with clinicians within Tower Hamlets Talking Therapies as well as supporting the independent evaluation. They will offer one to one support to service users to find, return to or retain employment. The role will involve working directly with Jobcentre Plus, employers, trade Unions and employment agencies to keep people in employment as well as securing employment opportunities. This role may be delivered from multiple locations across the borough.

 Key Responsibilities

 Case Management – One to One Support

 · Maintain a caseload of clients offering one to one support to help clients find, remain or retain employment. 

· Carry out initial telephone assessments and action plans using SMART goals to identify clients goals and barriers to employment.

· Offer a range of employment support interventions to clients that will support them to find, remain or return to work.

· Support clients to create CVs, Cover Letters, write applications, inform clients of job search techniques, and provide mock interview practice.

· Provide 1-2-1 support to clients to enable them to return to work after long term sickness absence or other reasons

· Work closely with employers to support clients to remain in their jobs by negotiating reasonable adjustments at the workplace

· Work closely with local employment law professionals and trade unions to offer clients and their employers with information about their employment rights and responsibilities

· Make client referrals to JPM/Charity People mock interview sessions and refer clients to monthly webinars

· Complete vacancy search for allocated sectors as part of the EA Vacancy Bulletin

· Manage allocated service project and work with the team to ensure referrals are received on time

· Offer one to one sessions at least 1 evening per week where working hours will be 11 – 6:30pm

· Work closely with local employment support agencies such as the job centre, recruitment consultancies, training and work placement providers to offer suitable opportunities

 Stakeholder Engagement and Relationships

· Work in an integrated way with the IAPT clinical team to demonstrate a seamless service to the client. Co-location to different NHS IAPT services and centres across Tower Hamlets to offer Employment Advice.

· Work closely with local agencies to identify appropriate job vacancies.

· Signpost the client, where necessary, to other agencies who will be able to provide advice on benefits or support that the client may be entitled to

· Where appropriate, work with other agencies the client is already being supported by, to deliver a more effective support service.

· Liaise as appropriate with secondary care mental health services and social services departments.

 Administration/General

 · Provide a service that is flexible as far as possible in terms of session hours, enabling, where possible, at least some of these sessions to be available outside normal working hours.

· Ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed on time, including questionnaires, reports and minutes for each client engagement and that these are regularly updated using the IAPTus (patient database system) and protocols.

· Ensure Caseload Management Tool is regularly up to date with client session information and targets.

· Attend Caseload Management Review meetings with Senior Employment Advisor

· Ensure good communication, planning and workload management.

· Maintain appropriate records/case notes and be administratively self-servicing.

· Screen therapy clients for suitability to Employment Advice Service.

 Regulations and governance

 · To remain informed of relevant legislation and changes to the benefit system, GDPR and data compliance.

· Maintain confidentiality and ensure that information is stored according to Mind in Tower Hamlets, Newham and Redbridge policies and service guidelines.

 General duties required of all MindTHNR Employees

 · Comply with, promote, and contribute to the development of MindTHNR’s: Aims and

Main purpose of job: To work in the Navigator team supporting individuals who have or are experiencing sexual violence and or sexual abuse. As a first contact worker, you will act as a gateway to both specialist counselling and advocacy services and additional specialist support services in Essex. The support you deliver will help individuals on their pathway to wellbeing, recovery, and social inclusion through building trusting and collaborative relationships. You will guide users to make informed decisions about their own wellbeing, maximising their independence and engaging in appropriate community or clinical resources/interventions.

You will work within a team of first contact navigators under the supervision of a service lead. You will be highly motivated and dedicated, have strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to work under minimal supervision.

Salary:£24,496 - £26,845 per annum.

Contract: This contract is until 31st March 2026, with the potential to extend if funding is continued.

Job Description

The First Contact Navigators play a central role in the CARA team, ensuring that our service users and other agencies receive a high-quality service from the moment of first contact. You will work as part of a wider team of First Contact Navigators across Esse and the post liaises with clients, the CARA team and external agencies, providing advice, support and information.

The First Contact Navigator will engage with individuals who are experiencing, or who have experienced, sexual violence and or sexual abuse who require information, signposting and short-term support.  You will be the first contact and conduct first meetings, managing your own caseload and co-ordinating personalised support for individuals on their pathway to wellbeing. You will have strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to work under minimal supervision. You will support people who use CARA services to make informed decisions about their wellbeing, maximising their independence and engaging in appropriate community or clinical resources. You will work collaboratively with service users, the CARA team and other professional agencies to navigate and coordinate services.  

The main responsibilities of the post are:

· To act as a first point of contact for new referrals and enquiries, providing information, emotional support, advice and signposting.

· To complete first contact calls and assessments with clients over the telephone.

· To ensure information about new referrals/enquiries is accurately recorded on CARA’s database in real time.

· To work collaboratively and build trust with service users, agencies, personal and professional support networks to collate relevant information to effect individualised support requirements.

· To assess and engage service users not currently engaged in appropriate specialist sexual violence services.

· To seek and respond to referrals from a variety of internal and external sources.

· To assist survivors and relatives/supporters of survivors in understanding the range of resources and services available to them.

· To support service users to engage effectively with appropriate services to meet their individual needs and aspirations.

· To work as a link between clients, CARA staff and external agencies, ensuring appropriate information is passed on.

· To work closely with the Essex-wide team of First Contact Navigators and Information and Referral Coordinators to ensure effective referral processes across Essex.

· To act as a point of contact for external agencies making referrals to CARA, answering queries about our referral process.

· To cover the enquiry line and the office phone and deal with enquiries as required.

· To pro-actively promote CARA’s services to external agencies, ensuring they are aware of our referral procedures.

· To contribute to development of promotional information, to ensure information about the referral process is clear and accessible.

· To attend regular team meetings and to work with colleagues to further the objectives of CARA.

· To adhere in full to all CARA’s organisational policies and procedures, including safeguarding procedures.

· To report to the Service Development Manager, Head of Operations, CEO and Trustees as required, including the production of regular written reports.

· To be administratively self-servicing.

· To undertake any other related activities as required by the Head of Operations, CEO or the Chair of the Board of Trustees.

· To take on new client, office and administration responsibilities as CARA develops.

Our Membership Engagement Team provide support, advice and guidance to ensure that our members can continue to be the force for good in their communities.  Through strong relationships with our members, the Branches and the County Committees, the Team facilitates the sharing of great practice and ensure that the membership remain compliant. The Membership engagement officers (MEO) are actively engaged within their areas, meeting Branch members, supporting their activities and building a stronger membership fit for the next 100 years.

The Membership Engagement Officer (MEO) is a key role which inspires and engages our membership to be active and fulfil their role and purpose while remaining compliant with the Legion’s Membership handbook and policies. We are looking for an effective, diligent multi-tasker with excellent customer service and communication skills who can both support and challenge.

The MEO provides organisational support, advice and information to our members, and works closely with County Committees, membership central team staff and other departments.  This a varied role which covers a range of duties from connecting and building relationships with Branches to compliance oversight and responding to membership queries.

You will be contracted to your home address. This is a Part Time post, working 21 hours per week, Monday-Friday. Working arrangement to be as agreed with Management and a degree of flexibility is needed. Evening and weekend work will be required.

We need someone like you to join the team at our Hammersmith & Fulham Employment Service. We support people living with mental health problems to develop a sense of independence, purpose and fulfilment; to develop their social networks and gain the skills they need to return to work or training where this is their goal. But we need your help. Your challenge? We help individuals with mental health problems to find paid employment, or unpaid voluntary work, plus we assist employers and employees to successfully resolve mental health problems in the workplace.

You will support the delivery of our Employment Service which will see you focus on motivating, supporting and providing person-centred advice and guidance to people receiving support to enable them to move into suitable and sustainable work.

As well as a good understanding of people with mental health problems, you have experience of networking/liaising with local employers and the initiative to develop and promote a service. Excellent motivational, presentation and listening skills are essential too, as is a willingness to travel in the local area and occasionally work outside of office hours. Customer focused, well organised and collaborative in approach, you are a great administrator and pride yourself on your word processing skills and ability to keep accurate computer records/use a database. A flexible approach to working to ensure effective service delivery is essential.

This is a full-time role requiring the post holder to work 37.5 hours per week.

Richmond Fellowship is part of Recovery Focus, a national group of charities highly experienced in providing specialist support services to individuals and families living with the effects of mental ill health, drug and alcohol use, gambling and domestic violence. We are looking to recruit a Access & Learning Assistant (Digital) to join our team based in London. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £26,517.57 per annum.

The Royal Air Force Museum is a national museum, a Government non-departmental public body (NDPB) and a registered charity, with two sister sites at London and Midlands. Our purpose is to share the RAF story, past, present and future – using the stories of its people and our collections in order to engage, inform and inspire. Our Vision is to inspire everyone with the RAF story – the people who shape it and its place in our lives.

Purpose of the Access & Learning Assistant (Digital) role is to:

As our Access & Learning Assistant (Digital), you will deliver across the whole range of Access and Learning Department activities, while leading on the creation of digital content.

The postholder will deliver daily programmed activities for schools (onsite, online and occasionally offsite), and there will be opportunities to work with families and other Museum audiences. In addition to delivering workshops for schools in a lively and imaginative way, the post holder will support the wider work of the department.

There is a requirement to work occasional weekends, bank holidays and evenings as necessary. The post is based at the London site but work at all Museum sites (London, Cosford and Stafford) and at outreach venues may be required.

Key responsibilities of our Access & Learning Assistant (Digital) include:

• Delivering daily programmed activities encompassing both formal and informal learning
• Preparing and packing away session resources
• Being fully active in the delivery of all elements of Access and Learning activities on site, offsite and online. This will include public demonstrations and presentations, class facilitation and tours
• Supporting the delivery of a high standard of visitor experience
• Leading on developing content for the learning team’s social media channels, working with the Access and Learning teams in London and the Midlands to schedule and produce posts
• Maintaining relevant pages of the Museum website and produce promotional materials as required
• In a manner consistent with the Museum’s shared values, working with Access and Learning staff and volunteers and with staff and volunteers across departments to support innovative and engaging activities and resources which reduce barriers to learning
• Assisting with the processing of Access and Learning team bookings, producing accurate timetables for school activities and other events

What we are looking for in our Access & Learning Assistant (Digital):

• Experience of delivering formal or informal learning activities
• Experience of working with children
• Knowledge of / interest in the history and current role of the RAF
• Knowledge of current H&S regulation including Safeguarding
• Pro-actively and positively contributes to the work of the whole team, in a way that leads to the successful delivery of individual and/or team targets, objectives and activities
• Experience of working with learners of all ages
• First Aid qualification
• Experience of working with volunteer
• Photo and video editing skills
