The Coach’s role will be to engage with our adult beneficiaries, supporting them to identify and achieve their aspirations for themselves and for their families.

We currently have 3 Social Mobility Coaches on the team.  Whilst supporting women across all five pillars, each Coach has specific areas of responsibility, which may change from time to time.

Historically, the organisation has delivered a grant giving programme but has evolved over the past ten years to provide a holistic service to clients that includes financial grants, advocacy, psychotherapy, volunteering opportunities and social events. 

Most of our clients have support need over and above financial assistance.  Many are socially excluded from society and face a combination of linked problems such as unemployment, discrimination, poor skills, low incomes, poor housing, living in areas of high crime, bad health and family breakdown. These problems are linked and mutually reinforcing so that they can create a vicious cycle in people’s lives.

The Role

What will I be doing?

You’ll be responsible for a range of activities, including:

• Assisting the wider team to deliver marketing strategies and plans for IOP priority projects.
• Building and maintaining excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders across the organisation.
• Acting as a brand ambassador and ensure that all materials are designed in accordance with the IOP’s brand guidelines and visual identity.

• Applying creative thinking to support the wider team and assist with developing new promotional opportunities.
• Working closely with the wider Marketing team and internal and external stakeholders.
• Assisting with the evaluation of the effectiveness of campaigns, using insight and monitoring tools. Utilise these learnings to optimise future campaigns.
• Copywriting, editing and proofing a range of online and offline marketing communications materials.

Who will I work with?

The Royal Medical Foundation (RMF) supports doctors and their families during times of crisis. When illness, bereavement or unexpected hardship turns lives upside down, we provide compassionate support and practical financial help to restore stability and dignity.

As a Senior Support Officer, you will primarily be responsible for raising awareness and providing a high-quality support and advocacy service to our members and their families.   You will be a relationship builder who cares about the community we serve and ensures that the individual (or family) remains at the centre of support.  You will have experience in multi-agency working and an in-depth understanding of the needs of those with disabilities, their families and carers.  Demonstrable experience and knowledge of health and social care, education and relevant assessment processes are essential. 

As deputy safeguarding lead officer for both shildren and vulnerable adults you will take the lead in the absence of the safeguarding leads and be confident sharing your knowledge with new recruits through mentoring.

You will have excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to uphold best practice, challenge poor policy and inappropriate decisions.  Excellent IT skills and the ability to plan, prioritise and deliver to tight timescales are essential.  You will be self-motivated and highly organised, juggling many strands of work. 

As part of a small, dedicated team, you will have a positive attitude and a willingness to work collaboratively with your colleagues and external parties to raise awareness, advocate for our membership, as well as supporting the delivery and development of services for the MPS Society community.

Whilst a relevant qualification within health & social care, education or a related field is desirable, other knowledge and work experiences may be equally as valuable in this role. Prior knowledge of MPS and related conditions is not required however a special interest in neurology and working with individuals with neurological disabilities is advantageous.  In-depth support and training to develop expertise in MPS and related conditions, and the needs of those affected by these progressive, life-limiting conditions will be provided.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary team working to tackle youth homelessness. 

This role is funded by the Oak Foundation and forms part of Coram’s Voices in Action programme which combines CCLC’s legal work, Coram Voice’s advocacy support and Coram’s policy and participation work to champion young people’s rights and create change.  It centres and amplifies the voices of young people through our young ambassadors with personal experience of homelessness or school exclusion. The young ambassadors campaign locally and nationally to change policy and practice and empower their peers with knowledge of their rights through workshop delivery and content creation. 

Working with others across the group, the purpose of this specific role is to provide specialist housing law advice, preliminary casework and onward referrals to young people under the age of 25 experiencing housing related issues.  This will include delivering regular outreach advice sessions in partnership with community organisations.  The post holder will work with the Head of Community Care Law on project design, co-ordination, delivery and reporting.  Supported by the Head of Community Care Law, they will be proactive in developing community partnerships and managing relationships with partner organisations.

The role will be integrated within the wider community care and public law team and will be supported by the Head of Community Care Law.  Building on the existing expertise and practice within the team, there will be a particular focus on advising and supporting young people who are care experienced, should have benefited from care or are young migrants.  The aim is to diagnose complex legal issues relating to housing and homelessness, to ensure young people understand their position and legal rights and are either supported to take steps to realise those rights, provided with preliminary casework to resolve issue at early stage, or where needed, referred on for complex casework and litigation either internally or externally.

The role would suit an experienced housing law advisor or caseworker. We welcome applications from solicitors and non-solicitors.  The priority is experience delivering high quality housing law advice and casework sensitively to vulnerable clients with a track record of delivering against project targets and meticulous case management skills. We are looking for a committed, resourceful and determined housing law advisor with a positive and solutions focussed attitude who is able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. They will be well supported with access to training, supportive line management and will benefit from being part of a wider collaborative legal practice team. They will work closely with a paralegal and be responsible for helping to develop the paralegal’s knowledge and understanding of housing related law.

The role will be based in our offices and with regular advice delivery in outreach locations. However, some remote/ hybrid working may be possible depending on the experience of the candidate after the initial settling in period. There may be flexibility over how the three days will be spread across the week (within working hours) and in accordance with the needs of the project.

Money Adviser 

Salary £36,069 per annum (inclusive of shift allowance) + excellent benefits

Location Birmingham (remote working with some office attendance. Initial training will be mandatory on site)

· Proven experience in a telephony customer service or advice role.

· Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal – with the ability to explain complex information simply to a variety of callers, some of whom may be distressed or have suicidal thoughts.

· A customer-focused, empathetic and non-judgemental approach. A high level of IT proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Zoom) and ability to adapt to new systems.

· Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively.

· Resilience and the ability to stay calm in challenging situations.

We provide full training and extensive support to give you all the tools needed to become an exceptional adviser. The eight-week training program will be conducted at our offices in Birmingham (Five Ways). You must be able to commit to training on a full-time, on-site basis, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

Training to become a Money Adviser is challenging and also staying up to date with new legislation in this arena is important, therefore you need to be willing to manage your own development during and outside working hours. With the initiative to research some of the finer technical points of debt advice, you will possess the drive to succeed in a role that presents challenging targets.
