Citizens Advice Torridge, North, Mid & West Devon is a Devon-based advisory service that helps members of the public to understand, face, and deal with problems they may be experiencing.

Every year thousands of people come to us for advice and help with all manner of problems, from managing debt and household bills, to welfare and benefits.

Last year, we helped 17,621 clients across North, Torridge Mid and West Devon.

We’re now looking for a Debt Supervisor to join our team and work flexibly from any of our locations across Devon.

Your Role

As a Debt Supervisor, you will be tasked with supervising the delivery of high quality money/debt advice to clients.

In this hands-on role, you will work as part of a client-focused and responsive team, delivering advice within FCA and CONC 8 regulations. You’ll manage and run your own caseload, manage the practicalities of debt advice and ensure adequate staffing and resources are available.

Your role will also involve:

- Providing support and supervision to Debt Team members
- Monitoring case records and phone calls for quality purposes
- Ensuring remedial and development issues are tackled and suitably dealt with
- Supporting new staff inductions

About You

To be considered as a Debt Supervisor, you will need:

- The proven ability to manage and/or supervise others, including the ability to recruit, develop and motivate staff
- The ability to commit to, and work within, the aims principles and policies of the Citizens Advice service
- An up-to-date understanding of equality and diversity and its application to the provision of advice, and the supervision and development of staff
- The proven ability to give and receive feedback objectively and sensitively and a willingness to challenge constructively
- The ability to monitor and maintain own standards
- The ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- A demonstrable understanding of the issues affecting society and their implications for clients and service provision
- A demonstrable understanding of issues involved in interviewing clients

Experience in money advice casework would be beneficial to your application.
