Endometriosis impacts the physical and mental health of 10% of women and those assigned female at birth, from puberty to menopause - although the impact may be felt for life. Yet it’s a disease most people have never heard of, do not understand and currently has no cure. It takes on average, almost nine years to receive a diagnosis in the UK, leaving many living in pain and without answers.

As the UK’s leading charity for all those affected by endometriosis, we’re determined to change this and ensure that everyone gets prompt diagnosis and the best treatment and support. We have big ambitions in new our strategy, focused on driving down diagnosis times, supporting those with endometriosis to live well, campaigning for improved treatments and access to services, raising awareness, and leveraging more money into research, all made possible thanks to the incredible efforts and generosity of our supporters. We are a growing charity, and our income has increased by 200% over the last 5 years enabling us to launch new services such as a Specialist Nurse Helpline and an online Symptom Checker tool. Last year, almost 70% of our income was from public donations and fundraising, which is incredible. Our goal is to make every supporter feel valued while growing diverse and sustainable income streams. It’s a big challenge for a small team, and that’s where you come in!

Endometriosis UK is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Public Fundraising Manager to join our busy fundraising team and support our continued growth. You will line manage the Fundraising Administrator and the Stewardship and Supporter Care Officer, playing a key role in leading a friendly, ambitious team and delivering exciting plans to grow vital income.
With a strong focus on public fundraising, you will be confident managing projects across community fundraising, individual giving and legacies. You will be an experienced CRM user, up to date with fundraising regulations, and ideally bring at least two years’ experience in a fundraising management role, including line management. Thriving in a fast-paced environment, you will be motivated by results and have a proven track record of meeting income targets, underpinned by a strong commitment to excellent supporter care and stewardship.

Headway Gloucestershire was established in 1987 and since then we have been working to make a positive difference to the lives of adults with an acquired brain injury. We provide specialist recovery support and respite through our centre-based Day Service, and outreach support through our Community Hubs and Community Links Service. We provide group and one to one sessions to support individuals.

Open every weekday, Headway House is at the heart of Headway Gloucestershire. We provide a structured programme of activities for individuals to choose from. Our programme is designed to support participants to work toward their own recovery goals and gain insight into strategies that support individuals to manage the physical, cognitive, sensory, emotional and behavioural outcomes which can occur following an acquired brain injury. Peer group sessions enable us to harness the recovery benefits of peer contact and support.

The Day Lead will be responsible for the organisation, planning, development and delivery of Headway Gloucestershire’s programme of activities.

Responsibilities include:

• To deliver professional, impartial, enabling and outcome focused support to Individuals with acquired brain injury. To provide support for clients with complex needs to support their recovery, wellbeing, independence and autonomy.
• Work closely with the Strategic Enablement and Hub Manager to ensure successful delivery of services.
• Networking with community providers to enrich our offer to enable us to meet the needs of individuals with acquired brain injury in Gloucestershire.
• The Day Lead will be responsible for the organisation, planning, development and delivery of Headway Gloucestershire’s activity programme and centre-based service.
• Ensure that safeguarding training and understanding is kept current and that individuals are safeguarded.
• Collaborate with staff members and volunteers to provide Key-working to individuals: - to use an enabling approach to support individuals to plan and work toward their recovery goals ensuring that planned activities are delivered and support provided is tailored to meet the needs of individuals to maximise our contribution to their recovery.

Carrying out the role at Headway House, you will work to clearly established quality standards and annual milestones. You will be joining a motivated and dynamic team of staff and volunteers working to making a difference to individuals with acquired brain injury in Gloucestershire.

Job Title: Deputy Service Manager

Location: Bermondsey, near Surrey Quays station. This location has step free and lift access. 

Salary: £33,200

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday working between 08:00 - 16:00, 09:00 - 17:00 and 14:00 - 22:00. You may be required to work flexibly around these hours due to service and resident requirements, including evening work and taking part in the out of hours on call rota for managers. 

About the Role

We're seeking a Deputy Service Manager to join our new service which is opening based in Bermondsey, an Independent Approved Premises (IAP) commissioned by Criminal Justice Services (CJS). The service works with residents who have recently been released from prison and helps them to reintegrate into the community, and restart their journey to independence. The team identify resident needs alongside any licensing restrictions, and will create tailored, person centred support plans including housing support, activities, and personal journey outcomes to help them to reintegrate. The team work in a multi disciplinary approach, working alongside probation services, job centres, mental health teams, and other community partners, with a focus on risk management and public protection. 

As a Deputy Service Manager, you will lead the team by providing line management and leadership support to enable and empower the team to deliver high quality support to our residents. You will support the Service Manager in driving service outcomes in line with our contractual requirements, ensuring quality, consistency, within a trauma informed setting. 

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Line management and leadership, offering guidance and support throughout the employee lifecycle.
• Support the Service Manager in leading the day to day operational delivery of the service.
• Risk Management ownership, ensuring processes and policies are followed.
• Property and housing management, ensuring accommodation standards, timely maintenance and reporting.
• Striving to ensure excellence and quality in our service delivery.

About You

We're seeking someone with a genuine passion for making a difference and helping to create safer communities for everyone. You will be a keen leader, with the ability to motivate and empower a team to drive excellence as individuals and as a team. You will be knowledgeable of the Criminal Justice System and able to provide advice and guidance to the team to deliver outcomes within a residential setting. We're looking for someone who can build rapport, trust, and a psychologically informed environment for residents, staff, and relevant stakeholders.

• Ability to provide high quality support and line management to staff.
• Ability to motivate and empower a team to achieve KPI's
• Ability to support the Service Manager and help manage staff with daily tasks, caseloads and overall day to day running of the service.
• Ability to provide advice, guidance, and support to the team on all aspects of service delivery including resident related queries
• Ability to promote the service externally to enhance reputation in the area and with partner organisations
• Ability to work flexibly to meet the demands and needs of the service. For example, Provide an emergency on call service as and when required in case of emergency
• IT proficiency - we use various systems so look for someone who can learn and navigate new systems including case management, Microsoft, ATS, HR systems, and other types of organisational software

The post-holder will be based at GMRC but work alongside TRC and MASH women’s services and Greater Manchester Pathfinder partnership, with service users who have experienced sexual trauma but who present with additional complex mental health needs.

They will work with service users in partner organisation settings and in the community, working collaboratively with individuals, carers and partners from local multi agency providers and services, to assess and identify social care needs that may be potential barriers to the client being able to address their sexual trauma.

The post-holder will provide guidance, leadership and consultation on social care legislation and policy to the team and to other areas of mental health services, including joint working where appropriate.

They will contribute to developing and maintaining high standards of decision making and professional practice in the field of social work.

The post-holder will be responsible for a caseload of service users under the care of the Pathfinder Partnership, supporting them in their recovery journey.

They will provide specialist social work interventions to service users and their carers / families, and involve them in all planning, helping to develop social resilience, motivation and daily living skills.

We're looking for a Rehoming Manager to embed a culture of high performance, creativity and excellent customer service at our Rehoming centre in Shoreham. Working closely with the rest of the management team, you'll manage and support the development of our rehoming team, who work tirelessly to find forever homes for the dogs in our care.

What does this role do?

As Rehoming Manager, you will:

• promote a culture of rehoming across the whole centre team, maximising the effectiveness of interactions and their conversion to adoptions,
• lead, manage and develop the rehoming team, instilling a performance based approach, focused on meeting both objective based and customer service targets,
• collaborate with other managers to optimise kennel occupation and to ensure appropriate assessment and triage of dogs is completed,
• drive a culture of continuous improvement across all public facing activities, focusing on the development and wellbeing of colleagues and a consistently positive experience for volunteers. 

Could this be you?

To be successful in this role, you'll need experience of leading a small, diverse team, with particular focus on driving high performance, delivering excellent customer service and meeting targets. You'll also need some operational management experience, with the ability to make decisions swiftly and effectively, with a solution focused approach. Excellent communication skills are essential, including the ability to have challenging conversations empathetically. Above all, you'll have a passion for rehoming dogs and the work Dogs Trust does.
 
This role can be either a live out or live in role, with accommodation accessed by a flight of stairs. This role includes working every third weekend and regular night duties 2-3 times per week.

This involves assessing, allocating and supporting our tenants on their journey with Stay and assisting successful move on. Teamwork is also a key part of this role to work alongside the wider housing team towards team and organisational objectives.

Role Specific Responsibilities:

· Deliver pro-active engagement with tenants to increase the potential for income collection by education, support and other interventions with customers as appropriate and in line with Stay’s policies.

· Provide advice to tenants on tenant and landlord roles and responsibilities in accordance with tenancy/licence conditions in face-to-face sessions or via the telephone/email/letter/text.

· Advice and guidance on issues such as tenancies at risk, whether through rent arrears, anti-social behaviour, property maintenance, unemployment, mental health issues and finance.

· Identify any/all factors that may be contributing to rent arrears: money mismanagement, budgeting issues etc.

· Give advice and assistance with housing problems including information on housing options.

· Take responsibility for a designated caseload of tenants requiring housing support including the identification of prospective tenants. Assist new tenants, particularly vulnerable and young tenants to set up and maintain a tenancy and be able to access support needed. Together with the customer draw up a personal housing plan.

· Assist tenants with security and safety matters within their home including door/window security, advice regarding household appliances and controls for heating, providing details of the repairs service and how to report and arrange repairs.

· Actively work with the tenants and colleagues around issues placing the tenancy at risk including breaches of the tenancy agreement: arrears, harassment, nuisance and other disputes when required.

· Build effective relationships with external agencies (both statutory and voluntary) and maintain a knowledge base of these to signpost customers as required.  Share information, where appropriate and in line with data protection and confidentiality, to meet the needs of the tenants.

· Ensure the maximisation of rent collection in line with targets and reduce rent arrears on a continuing basis through the effective enforcement of the rent arrears policy, procedure and systems working alongside the rents officer.

· Work in a performance target-led environment and have a commitment to attaining those targets.

· Prepare timely and accurate reports.

· Identify and implement good administrative practices and procedures.

· Maximise income collection by providing advice on welfare benefits and make referrals to specialist services and agencies where appropriate.

· Integrate tenant care into working practices through a ‘Tenant First’ approach, ensuring tenants are treated with respect and courtesy and experience a ‘seamless’ service. Adhere to Stay’s standards of tenant care in respect of answering correspondence, telephones and complaints.

· Maximise the use of information and communications technology to support the service and deliver efficiency improvements. Maintain up to date knowledge of systems and applications.

· Work collaboratively with the referral and assessments officer to evaluate applicants, conduct thorough needs and risk assessments, and perform reference checks before extending accommodation offers.

· Carry out an appropriate induction to the allocated Stay property once an offer has been made to an applicant.

· Liaise with The Rent Officer and Housing Benefit to ensure the customer’s account is active and the customer is aware of their responsibility of providing any information to ensure the housing benefit is paid and reduce all arrears.

· Liaise with Housing Benefit, Employment Services, Social Services, Probation Services and other authorities as necessary in relation to housing management.

· Ensure that tenants are compliant with and kept fully informed and consulted on matters affecting their Licence or Tenancy Agreements and they understand their rights and responsibilities: respecting other tenants, non-use of drugs etc.

· Ensure incidents/Safeguarding are fully reported and investigated and act to resolve the problem or take holding action until a permanent solution is found.

· Work with the Voids and Maintenance Team to undertake regular visits to the housing properties to inspect the accommodation and get customer feedback to ensure that repairs and cleaning of the buildings are carried out promptly to a high standard and that safety and security is maintained.

· Adhere to Stay’s Safeguarding Policies and take responsibility for making Safeguarding referrals to the relevant services and report any concerns to Stay’s Designated Safeguarding Officers.

· To address issues of social isolation and exclusion, facilitating client’s involvement in the community.

· To deliver person centred support through one-to-one sessions, group work and ad-hoc support.

· To record all contacts with tenants appropriately and in line with Stay’s policies and procedures and maintaining all relevant files and recording systems, ensuring information is updated.

· To produce appropriate written reports in a variety of formats to meet the requirements of managers, service providers and board of trustees.

· To assist tenants in acquiring the budgeting and social skills necessary to sustain accommodation effectively.

THE ROLE:
The Service Manager plays a central role in ensuring that every young person who engages with Empire Fighting Chance receives high-quality, personalised support.

In this role, you will ensure that every young person who connects with Empire Fighting Chance receives an outstanding experience. You will oversee the full journey of young people through our programmes. From referral and assessment to onboarding, scheduling and progression. You will ensure their experience is safe and impactful.

You will champion a safety-aware culture across the organisation, embedding safeguarding into everyday practice and leading on case management and risk mitigation. This role is key to building a strong operational foundation for our Centre of Excellence in Bristol. Through strategic management, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement, you will help shape an environment where young people feel safe, supported and empowered.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
1. Manage the recruitment of young people

Accountable for the recruitment of suitable young people onto the programmes of Empire Fighting Chance.

• Implement a robust referral criteria process to ensure that Empire Fighting Chance targets the young people that it best supports.Contribute to the development of a ‘bank’ of recommended organisations to share with those young people who do not meet the charity’s referral criteria.

• Identify new approaches to managing the charity’s waiting list, ensuring the programmes can meet their needs and offer the correct resources to support them.
• Implement our assessment process to ensure Empire Fighting Chance gains a full and accurate understanding of each young person’s needs and circumstances.
• Implement a process to match young people with the most appropriate Empire Fighting Chance programme and coach mentor/therapist.
• Strengthen the scheduling process of young people’s programmes at Empire Fighting Chance.

3. Manage a safety aware culture
Accountable for developing of a culture where safeguarding and safety are embedded into every aspect
of our work.

• Champion a safety-aware culture across the organisation, embedding safeguarding into everyday practice.
  Be a key part of the safeguarding team and ensure robust safeguarding practices are implemented across all areas of the charity.

4. Manage young people’s ‘Empire Experience’
Accountable for Empire Fighting Chance giving young people the best possible experience (outside of the delivery of programmes).

• Identify and implement improvements to The Mill boxing gym to ensure that young people feel safe and have an enjoyable experience (while retaining the look and feel of a real boxing gym). 
• Oversee the onboarding process to ensure that young people have the best possible start to their Empire experience.
• Work alongside the Head of Programmes and Community Outreach Manager to develop a ‘bank’ of local organisations and services that young people can be referred onto during or after their programme. Ensure this information is shared with coaches and therapists so they can communicate it to the young person.
• Oversee the offboarding process that will support young people to continue their development after leaving Empire Fighting Chance (e.g. resources and pathways for young people – internally and externally).
• Use data and insights from young people to improve their experience.

5. Manage the provision of family liaison/support
Accountable for providing support to parents/carers of young people.

• Work alongside the Family Liaison Officer to enhance the information, advice, guidance and support provided to parents and carers to ensure young people engage with their programme.

6. Line management of a team
Provide strategic direction to a small team in a supportive manner.

The LAWs team has immigration and welfare advisors in Freedom from Torture’s London and Glasgow. Whilst this role is based in the London centre, the post-holder will provide support to LAWS advisors in both centres.
