The Role

The person appointed will be responsible for:

• Delivering high-profile live events and tours

• Managing our international travel programme to Palestine

• Supporting further operational activities across the organisation

You will work closely with the Amos team and report to the Head of Finance and Operations.

In recent years, Amos Trust has delivered an ambitious and growing programme, including:

• Sumud Concert at Union Chapel featuring Mogwai, Brian Eno, Adnan Joubran, Nadine Shah and others

• Beyond the Rubble national tour with young dancers from our partner  Alrowwad in Bethlehem

• Requiems at Methodist Central Hall and Greenbelt Festival to commemorate those killed in the Gaza Genocide

• Days Like These fundraising concert with Billy Bragg and friends

We are looking for someone who can build on this momentum and help us increase the number and range of events we run. 

Travel 

We are relaunching our Palestine Travel Programme after a three-year pause. We plan to be taking our first supporter groups to visit The West Bank in April 2026.  We will be taking the trip participants into a highly complex environment which requires exceptional planning and preparation to ensure the success of the trips and the safety of the participants.

You will also support our annual Roaclub cycling programme, visits to international partners and hosting international guests and partners in the UK

Operations

Alongside events and travel, you will manage a range of additional operational tasks. As a small organisation without a permanent office, these responsibilities will be manageable and shaped by your skills and experience.

Bedford Foodbank is an independent charity operating as a member of the Trussell Trust network of foodbanks. We employ 2 paid full time and 5 part time staff and are supported by 120 volunteers each week. The mission of Bedford Foodbank is to provide emergency food and support to individuals and families in crisis, ensuring that no one in the community goes hungry. Role Purpose

The Operations Director role is responsible for the effective day-to-day management of the foodbank, ensuring sustainable service delivery while driving income generation and fundraising growth. Person Specification

• Demonstrable success in fundraising, income generation and grant writing.

• Running a small to medium size charity operation.

The position will support victims to navigate the criminal justice system (CJS), civil and family courts, and wider statutory and voluntary services. Key Responsibilities 

Operational Support 

• Act as the first point of contact for premises, facilities, IT and Estates issues across all Weston Park Cancer Charity locations including our Outreach programmes.

• Assist the Operations Manager in maintaining a secure and organised premises and facilities, which ensure colleagues, volunteers and visitors are safe and experience a welcoming environment.

• Support the Operations Manager in the successful delivery of the Annual Operations plan.

• Provide administrative support to the Operations Manager and take minutes in operations-related working groups. 

• Support with updating operational policies and procedures.

• Act as a first point of contact for data related issues, alongside the Operations Manager - following relevant training, to promote a strong GDPR culture.

• Assist in the coordination of charity vehicle fleet maintenance schedules and provide breakdown response support. 

• Assist in the control and coordination of the use of charity space and assets, including liaising with contractors and Sheffield Teaching Hospitals (STH) on relevant matters as required.

Health & Safety

• Assist in the procurement, delivery and recording of mandatory staff training needs. 

• Help establish and maintain safe working practices and policies and undertake basic risk assessments. 

Workwear and equipment 

• Act as the first point of contact for workwear and equipment requests; including being responsible for issuing and returning stock, regular stock checks and ordering stock as required. 

Tech Support 

• Serve as the first point of contact for general IT enquiries. 

• Consult with IT consultants to ensure adherence to processes. 

• Work with the Operations Manager to implement processes that maintain the IT security score.

• Assist in the onboarding and offboarding of employees, including software licenses, logins, and induction training. 

• Serve as lead administrator for key operational software, such as Webex phone system and Vatix Lone Worker App. 

General Administrative Support & Development 

• Handle general enquiries from staff, patients, and volunteers efficiently.

• Manage charity postal enquiries.

• Assist the Operations Manager with the procurement of stationery and consumables.

• Assist the wider team with ad hoc work and undertake small projects that support the charity's work. e.g. Events, Logistical and Tech Support. 

Environmental Advocate 

• Work with the Operations Manager to promote environmental awareness and encourage the charity adopts a green approach (e.g., recycling, energy use, carbon footprint).

Primary Purpose:

The Service Manager works as part of the Charity Operations team and has operational responsibility for the sustainability and development of a range of existing services, developing new service opportunities and taking an active part in influencing change and improvement on behalf of older people..

Main Duties:

• Participate in joint decision making as a member of the services management team in both strategic and operational planning.
• In-line with the organisation’s strategy, prepare an annual plan of activity for all areas of responsibility identifying resource implications.
• Ensure staff take the necessary operational decisions to meet service plans and contractual requirements.
• Review and revise service operational delivery plans regularly to ensure they are still meeting need. Ensure that the operational plans are cascaded down to the teams.
• Ensure that the terms of all funding arrangements are completed including the submission of monitoring and activity reports by due dates.
• Working with the Head of Services and Head of Finance to agree the annual budgets for all areas of responsibility.
• Manage staff performance in all areas of responsibility to achieve expected service outcomes and obligations.
• Ensure that staff and volunteers are fully trained and equipped to meet operational requirements and deliver excellent services.
• Ensure that planned staff absence is organised to ensure that appropriately trained staff are available to provide cover, or acceptable alternative arrangements are in place

Working closely with our Research and Campaigns colleagues, you will be responsible for Parliamentary and legal work, and for liaison with relevant partner organisations. 

You will have excellent communication and relationship-building skills, to help you build and nurture partnerships with parliamentarians at all levels and with organisations and networks who share CAAT’s goals.

You will have good knowledge of how to use parliamentary procedures to achieve campaign goals, strong experience of monitoring and responding to Parliamentary activity related to core campaign issues.
