An exciting opportunity has arisen in East Sussex for a highly motivated and committed Family Worker to build on a well-established commissioned service.
About the Role:
Kinship is the leading kinship care charity in England and Wales. We work with all kinship carers – the grandparents, siblings, aunts, uncles, and family friends who are caring for children when their parents can’t.
We’re seeking an experienced Family Worker who is passionate about supporting kinship carers to get the right support at the right time. We are looking for someone who has the interpersonal and partnership skills to perform their role sensitively and creatively while also meeting reporting and impact requirements. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with East Sussex County Council and will share their ambition to support families to keep their children safe through support, advice and guidance.
You’ll be delivering our Kinship Connected programme offering support to special guardians and other kinship carers, providing emotional and practical support to carers in their homes and in the community over a six-month intervention cycle. You’ll also connect them with other kinship carers through peer support groups, as well as supporting to unlock community assets.
This is a role where you’ll need to have strong boundaries and personal resilience – which we’ll also support through development and reflective practice.
Key responsibilities include:
- Practical and emotional support to kinship carers virtually or in-person in their home or community.
- Signposting or referring to relevant national and local services.
- Liaising with other professionals and organisations.
- Attending professional meetings when the carer needs extra support (e.g. CIN. CP, family group conference, school meetings).
- Making referrals to other Kinship services such as Advice, Someone Like Me, Peer-to-Peer.

We are looking for an Assistant Support Workers to join the Street Outreach Rough Sleepers Team

You will:
- Complete outreach shifts, providing a rapid response to referrals for people who are rough sleeping in the borough
- Work alongside senior colleagues to identify the fastest and most appropriate route away from the streets for the people that we are working with

About the role
As a Peer Support Worker, you’ll use your skills and experience to work directly with people in mental health crisis, via the telephone, face-to-face or online engagement. This service is a crisis drop-in centre for those experiencing, or at risk of a crisis, delivered in partnership between Solent Mind and Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust. You’ll work on a rota basis between 4.00pm - 11.30pm.
About you
You’ll need to have personal, lived experience of a mental health issue, as well as experience of working with people with mental health needs, excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of the key difficulties and challenges faced by people on their recovery journey.

About the team
At Shelter Bristol we provide front line support to over 5000 people a year, through housing advice and support. We strive for change to address the underlying systems that are causing the housing emergency. The range of support also includes legal representation, practical DIY assistance, and welfare benefits advice, so people can address their housing and other related issues. We also raise awareness of housing rights within the community so people can take their own actions and work in partnership with other local organisations.
About the role
You will have your own caseload of families, acting as their key worker and supporting them to either resettle or prevent homelessness. Your primary focus will be on households where some tailored interventions are required around the needs of the children to stabilise their housing situation and enable the family to thrive. You’ll need to provide intensive, tailored support as part of a whole family approach both in a 1-2-1 setting and through group work. You’ll also need to regularly visits clients’ homes and schools across the city liaising with other agencies in the community to provide a co-ordinated service.

About you
You will have knowledge of housing, homelessness and ASB legislation and welfare benefits that affect families and the skills to network and gather information as well as advocacy, negotiation and problem solving skills. You’ll need to be able to demonstrate that you have worked within, or understand, a safeguarding framework, have experience of managing a caseload and can prioritise, organise and set boundaries.
You’ll need to be able to use a range of IT tools to carry out your work, including case management systems, Microsoft Office applications, internet and email etc. You must also possess a valid driving licence and be willing to use your vehicle for work purposes, for which an essential car allowance will be paid.

We are looking for a Lead Worker to join the Lambeth Temporary Accommodation Support Service. Our team are commissioned to work with, and support individuals placed in temporary accommodation by the London Borough of Lambeth.
You will:
- Assess the housing and other needs of people living in Temporary Accommodation in Lambeth
- Complete referrals for immediate and long-term housing options, and refer people to organisations that can help with other support needs
- Work creatively with the local authority, community-based services, staff and service users to ensure that support is personalised, effective and measurable
- Contribute to evaluation and measuring impact.

We are looking for a Support Worker to work as part of a service that provides late-night and early-morning outreach for women who are sex working and supports women who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

About the role
The Post Holder will work within Spires’ Women’s Service. This service is comprised of:
A dedicated nighttime outreach service to support women who are involved in street-based sex working. This includes follow up work, casework, and multi-agency working.
Centre-based support for women with complex needs who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. This also includes casework and supporting Spires’ Housing and Homelessness team.
Key responsibilities will include:
· Supporting a caseload of clients
· Completing one nighttime outreach shift a week (this is carried out in the Spires car)
· Supporting in the running of Spires’ women’s drop in services
· Supporting Spires’ Housing and Homelessness service where required
· Representing Spires to external stakeholders at multi-agency meetings
· Ensuring detailed and accurate records are kept of all client work.
About you
You will have previous experience of working with people exhibiting complex needs and people experiencing homelessness. Ideally you will have experiencing supporting women with some of the following support needs: substance addiction, mental health needs, domestic violence, no recourse to public funds and sex working.
You will also bring with you the following skills and experience:
· Experience of challenging appropriately and maintaining clear and appropriate boundaries.
· Networking and effectively liaising with specialist service providers or agencies in order to establish and/or improve access to services for clients.
· Sound understanding of the issues faced by women and other individuals involved in sex work.
· Understanding of the legislation around supporting the victims of Domestic Violence.
· Understanding of the effects of trauma on people and how to work in a trauma informed way.
· Good understanding of safeguarding practices in outreach work, social care and/or day centre environment.
· Good understanding of confidentiality and working with sensitive information.

About the organisation
The organisation was established in response to homelessness, which had become a growing concern in Streatham in the late 1980s. Initially providing a hot meal, clothing and advice to those who came for help, they have developed into an organisation that provides a range of services, including the Housing and Homeless Team and Woman’s Team.

Using a gender and trauma-informed approach, the Outreach & Engagement Worker will deliver 2-4 daytime outreach sessions per week in Manchester alongside partners, colleagues and volunteers. They will also attend the Street Engagement Hub weekly to provide specialist support to women attending this multi-agency hub. They will provide brief interventions and casework support to women supporting their needs holistically.
You will work with other members of the MASH team to achieve the following outcomes:
- To improve women’s health
- To improve women’s wellbeing
- To increase women’s safety

- Women who sex work are heard, understood and experience less stigma
- Other agencies and policymakers understand the needs of women who sex work and are more effective at supporting them
Since 1991, MASH has been at the forefront of supporting women in and around Greater Manchester who are, have been or may start sex working and who are facing multiple disadvantage. We were founded as a social justice organisation, starting out as a grassroots, community led response to the HIV/AIDS crisis and we have continued to support women at the sharpest end of inequalities ever since.

Recovery Workers ensure our clients are at the heart of everything we do. Thames Reach’s Outreach teams operate across London and helps those who are rough sleeping to find routes away from the street. The teams respond rapidly and work flexibly to reach people. Individuals are assessed to identify their support needs and support plans are created, including work to obtain identification, access health services and refer to other specialist agencies, including those offering immigration support.

You will:
• Complete outreach shifts, providing a rapid response to referrals for people who are rough sleeping across four districts (Mole Valley district council, Tandridge district council, Epsom and Ewell Borough Council, Reigate and Banstead borough council).
• Support our clients with practical tasks that will enable them to move off of the streets or sustain accommodation.
• Directly support clients, identifying activities that will assist in their journey towards recovery and away from life on the streets.
• Maintain and support links with community programs and resources.

About the job
We are seeking a confident and experienced Modern Slavery Case Worker Assistant with a wide range of skills and importantly, a ‘can do’ approach. As a Modern Slavery Case Worker Assistant, you will provide high quality practical and emotional support to potential victims of modern slavery within a safehouse setting.
You will work as a member of the team providing a safe temporary environment for vulnerable adults who have experienced trauma and exploitation. The role will involve assisting service users with increasing practical skills and self-confidence to empower and enable independent and safe living.
This service is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Applicants must be willing to work flexibly, which will include on call duties, evenings, weekends and bank. Both roles will work between two properties approx. 4 miles apart on a Rota basis. A full induction and continuous training will be given.
The 30 hour per week post will be shifts from 4pm-10pm, 5 days per week, however, the initial induction will consist of day shifts until knowledge of safe house is comprehensive.
You must have experience of working with vulnerable adults, the ability to work within a ‘risk associated’ environment and ideally experience of working within a residential or community setting with non-UK citizens. Relevant social care qualifications or suitable experience of supporting vulnerable people is essential.
