Job description

Our administration team are integral to the smooth running of Beacon and this is an opportunity to be part of this.

We have two roles available for people to join our appointments team as administrators, working within our opening times of 8:45am and 9:15pm Monday-Thursday and 8:45am and 4:30pm on Friday.
Shifts are provided in advance and would form a regular pattern. Flexibilty is required on occasion to provide cover during periods of sickness or leave within the wider team. 
These roles are advertised at 28 hours a week each, but would consider more or less hours for the right candidates. 

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the ideal candidate would have experience in a fast-paced office setting, possess strong communication skills and have excellent listening skills.

Full training about Beacon and the services it provides will be given at induction; however an interest in mental health services or previous experience of working in a charity would be advantageous, but not essential.

Contract Type: Permanent - subject to references and completion of probationary period
Salary: £23,400 per year pro rata
Hours: 28 per week worked within business opening hours
Location: Beacon Counselling, 50-52 Middle Hillgate, Stockport, SK1 3DL


Key Duties: 

  • To be the first point-of-contact for a range of people contacting Beacon, providing a welcoming, friendly and respectful response to all 

  • To book appointments for people accessing Beacon’s services 

  • To undertake other administrative duties in line with the role and the requirements of the charity 

  • To act as a key member of Beacon’s team, actively demonstrating Beacon’s values in all aspects of the role
