Role Overview

Mothers’ Union is seeking a talented and organised Communications & Publications Coordinator to support the delivery of high-quality written communications across the charity. This role will play a key part in shaping and sharing our voice through articles, press releases, media engagement, and the management of our two publications.

Working closely with the Acting Director of Communications & Marketing, the postholder will help ensure that Mothers’ Union’s mission, faith, impact, and advocacy work are clearly, professionally, and consistently communicated to members, supporters, clergy, partners, and the wider public.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career communications professional with strong writing skills and an interest in faith-based or charitable work.

Key Responsibilities

Writing & Editorial

·Researching, writing, and editing articles, features, and news stories for internal and external publications.

·Drafting press releases, media statements, briefings, and opinion pieces.

·Supporting the production and editorial coordination of Mothers’ Union newsletters, magazines, and other publications (print and digital).

·Proofreading and ensuring consistency of tone, style, and brand voice across all communications.

·Assisting with the development of case studies and impact stories.

·Maintain an up-to-date bank of FAQs, accessible to all staff members, to respond to regular queries from within and outside the membership.

·Update a PowerPoint quarterly with briefing notes for colleagues and members speaking about MU externally.

Media & Public Relations

·Supporting proactive media outreach and maintaining media contact lists.

·Responding to media enquiries in coordination with the Director of Communications & Marketing.

·Preparing briefing documents for interviews and public appearances.

·Monitoring media coverage and compiling press reports.

·Identifying opportunities for earned media coverage to raise awareness of Mothers’ Union’s work.

·Creating resources to help members connect with local media such as draft press releases and how to write engaging news stories.

Publications Management

·Coordinating content schedules and deadlines for the charity’s bi-yearly Connected Magazine and the annual Prayer Diary.

·Liaising with contributors, designers, printers, and external suppliers as required.

·Ensuring all publications meet brand and editorial standards.

·Proofreading external collateral for teams across the charity.

·Assisting with distribution planning and stakeholder communications.

Administrative & Team Support

·Managing the Communications and Marketing inboxes.

·Supporting campaign delivery through written materials and briefing documents.

Work Location/Hybrid Working Pattern

This role will be based at our Head Office in central London. Mothers’ Union operates a hybrid working model. Staff are required to work an aggregate minimum of 90 days per calendar year (pro rata for part timers) at our Head Office, Mary Sumner House in central London. Tuesdays are our anchor days where every staff member is expected to be at the office. The 90 days includes anchor Tuesdays. In addition, Thursday is a core working day where part time staff are expected to work, either at home or from the office as needed.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Occupational Therapist (Sensory & Attachment) will deliver high-quality, trauma-informed occupational therapy assessment and intervention to families with a history of adoption, kinship care and long-term fostering. The postholder will bring advanced expertise in sensory processing/sensory integration and the impact of early adversity, attachment disruption and developmental trauma on regulation, participation and family life. The role will work as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT) within PATH, contributing to formulation-led support, practical strategies and therapeutic approaches that strengthen safety, connection, and everyday functioning at home, school and in the community.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·Provide specialist assessment and intervention where sensory processing differences interact with attachment needs, developmental trauma, neurodiversity and emotional/behavioural presentations.

·Co-produce practical, strengths-based support plans with parents/carers and, where appropriate, the child/young person; provide clear strategies that are realistic for family life.

·Deliver evidence-informed interventions (1:1 and group-based as appropriate) including sensory-based regulation strategies, activity adaptation, routine design, environmental modification and caregiver coaching.

·Integrate attachment- and trauma-informed principles (e.g., PACE/connection-based approaches) into OT recommendations, ensuring strategies support safety, relational connection and felt security.

·Contribute to MDT formulation and case discussions, offering an occupational therapy perspective on function, participation, sensory-motor development and regulation

·Prepare high-quality written outputs including assessment summaries, recommendations, letters and reports suitable for families and professionals; contribute to documentation required for commissioning/regulated service evidence as needed.

2. MAIN PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB

To support the management, administration and development of the Sustainable Future grant programme and occasional related initiatives.

4. DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
 

4.1       GRANT PROGRAMME MANAGEMENT SUPPORT

To work within organisational strategies and policies, and in accordance with the priorities and guidance as specified by the Programme Manager:
 

• Contribute to the delivery of all aspects of the grant cycle, including responding to applicant inquiries, assessment of applications, presenting and discussing applications with the grant committee and communicating decisions to applicants. On occasion, there may a requirement to contribute to this work for other JRCT grant programmes.

• Assist with monitoring grantees’ work and expenditure of JRCT funds.

• Contribute to the design and delivery of networking, convening or learning initiatives for grantees. 

• Manage and co-ordinate the administration of external events and consultations.  

• Assist the Programme Manager with the administration of proactive projects.

• Keep abreast of external developments through reading, attending conferences and similar events, and liaising with other funders.

• Contribute to the development of grant policy and grant programme reviews.

4.2 GRANT PROGRAMME ADMINISTRATION
 

• With direction from the Programme Manager, co-ordinate and contribute to the preparation and circulation of committee papers for the grant cycle, including writing assessment memos, meeting notes, agenda papers and minutes.  On occasion, there may a requirement to contribute to this work for other JRCT grant programmes.

• Use the grants administration database to process and monitor grant applications and provide reports and statistics.  Maintain accurate database records to enable the appropriate payment and ongoing monitoring of grants. 

• Ensure that effective information storage and retrieval systems (paper and electronic) are developed, maintained and managed for the programme area and maintain records of committee membership and subscriptions.

• Arrange and co-ordinate committee meetings and meetings with applicants/grantees on behalf of the Programme Manager, including related travel, accommodation and room bookings, liaising with trustees and co-optees.

• Liaise with other staff and external colleagues on behalf of the Programme Manager and assist in implementing good communication systems for the staff team and wider organisation.

As our Fundraising Manager, you will be both strategic and hands-on, leading income growth while helping us nurture and evolve our overall approach to fundraising.

About You

You will be able to identify test case opportunities to address systemic bad practice and so achieve change for a greater number of people and will work closely with the Head of Legal Services, the Hub Management Team and teams within Communications, Policy and Campaigns and Business Development. As a key member of the management team, you will also get to play your part in the management of our offices, including attending management team meetings and collaborating with other teams.

About you

1.        You will be an experienced housing solicitor, court advocate, carrying your own caseload as well as managing and supervising others.

2.       You will have a minimum of 4 years post qualification legal practice experience

3.       You will have supervisor status and have substantial knowledge of housing and homelessness law.

4.      You are able to carry out research and policy analysis in the areas of housing, homeless and welfare law, produce reports and presentations.

The Project Manager plays a vital role in delivering exceptional Project Management for the major new Salesforce implementation of Marketing Cloud and Data Cloud. This project will improve our Supporter experiences particularly in terms of email journeys. This role takes responsibility of the planning, execution and management of the Salesforce implementation of Marketing Cloud and Data Cloud project.

This strategic project is key to implementing the 10-year organisational strategy, ARUK: Towards a Cure. The post holder will manage the full project lifecycle, from planning and execution through to embedding the new platform, ensuring the project is delivered on time, to scope, and to a high standard.

The post holder is part of a small team at ARUK and from time to time may need to support other colleagues to ensure smooth critical service delivery to the organisation.

 Key Responsibilities:

Project Management – Salesforce Marketing Cloud

· Develop a flexible project plan for the Marketing Cloud project that is adaptable to unexpected changes; manage these changes effectively through appropriate stakeholder management and risk planning.

· Build and maintain strong relationships with project team members, internal stakeholders, and third parties, to foster collaboration and drive the successful delivery of the salesforce marketing cloud project.  Manage the relationship with the external implementation partner.

· Drive and monitor project progress against timelines using appropriate project management tools (e.g. Excel, Smartsheet, MS Projects or similar), and ensure stakeholders are updated at key checkpoints; ensure roles and responsibilities are clearly defined and understood from the start.

· Lead and participate in all required project meetings including sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives.

· Apply sound judgement and problem-solving expertise to manage project risks, decisions, and dependencies within the wider organisational context; demonstrate accountability by escalating project risks via appropriate and agreed channels.

· Support the Project Sponsor, Product Owner and Programme Manager with effective decision-making, budget management, and management of dependencies with other digital or organisational workstreams.

· Responsible for assessing and managing the project risk throughout the life of the project

· Manage all project governance and documentation, ensure meetings, actions and decisions are managed and documented appropriately.

· At the end of the project, conduct project closure and review sessions to capture successes and learnings and help ensure project outcomes and the new platform are effectively embedded into business-as-usual (BAU).

Stakeholder Management and Collaboration

· Lead on the development of a stakeholder management plan for the Project Sponsor and Product Owner ensuring it is tailored and maintained throughout the project lifecycle.

· Liaising with the L&D team and internal communications team to ensure suitable change management and communication plans are in place

· Liaise on a regular basis with ARUK’s central Projects & Programmes team, ensuring project plans and approach align with ARUK’s project management approach.

· Work with the Senior DDT Programme Manager to ensure plans and reporting are set up and delivered in line with the wider DDT programme requirements. Build strong professional relationships, trust, and inspire confidence with stakeholders at all levels.

Project Management Best Practice

· Adopt and apply appropriate project management methodologies to suit the nature of the project.

· Contribute to the facilitation of project management best practise within DDT Teams

Knowledge, skills and experience needed:

Role information

Location: Office‑based contract, working from Compassion House, Barley Way, Fleet, Hampshire, GU51 2UT

Hours: 35 hours per week across four days (Monday to Thursday), with a daily start time of 7:30 

How you’ll make an impact:

• Set a warm, professional, and hospitable tone for staff, volunteers, and visitors, making the office easy to navigate with clear information, helpful signage, and simple processes.
• Lead the day to day running of Compassion House, coordinating building services and supplier partnerships, and planning preventative maintenance.
• Uphold health, safety, and security by partnering with our Health and Safety Officer, leading audits and training, and responding calmly and decisively to incidents.
• Lead and develop the Office Experience team and volunteers through clear communication, coaching, and supportive direction.
• Oversee post room operations to ensure sponsorship correspondence and profiles are processed and redistributed on time.
• Steward budgets wisely, review supplier value and quality, and document decisions transparently.
• Be personally committed to the Christian faith. There is an occupational requirement for this role to be held by a practising Christian, in order to promote Compassion’s ethos and support others to experience, explore, and express the faith‑based motivation of our work. This is a great opportunity to join the UK Committee for UNICEF (UNICEF UK) as Finance Business Partner – Partnerships and Programmes.

This role provides the main Finance point of contact across relevant teams and senior stakeholders and is expected to support various teams and cost centers, including the Partnerships and Philanthropy teams that generate a significant portion of UNICEF UK’s income in addition to the Advocacy, Programme and Safeguarding teams that are integral to UNICEF UK’s strategic goals. 

Reporting to the Head of Finance Business Partnering, you will work directly with budget holders in your dedicated teams, supporting financial planning and performance reporting with analysis, insight and constructive challenge to support decision making and strategic financial planning, driving positive outcomes for UNICEF UK. Allocation of teams to this role may change in the future, influenced by the organisation’s evolving needs and the outcomes of the upcoming 2027-2029 strategic planning exercise.

This role requires that you come from a finance business partnering or FP&A background with extensive relationship-building across income-generating stakeholders, with a track record in driving strategic financial decisions and performance monitoring in income-generating teams such as fundraising teams through profit/efficiency measures and effective financial planning covering budgeting and reforecasting. The role requires strong analytical and influencing skills and the capability to balance a strategic and ‘big picture’ mindset with strong attention to detail. Candidates with no experience working closely with income-generating teams will not be considered for the role.
