Key Information:

• Salary: from £27,088 - £31,691 FTE

• The Spear Programme offers a rewarding opportunity to work with young people, but it requires a dedicated commitment. About the Role

As Training Team Manager, you will be responsible for the operational leadership of a regional training team, ensuring courses are delivered effectively across multiple locations.

About the Role

Are you a skilled co-ordinator with a passion for creative education and climate justice? Development Education Centre South Yorkshire (DECSY) is seeking a Project Manager to lead an innovative project.

This role involves co-ordinating a high-impact programme that uses drama-based pedagogy and Philosophy for Children (P4C) to engage primary teachers and pupils in Climate Change Education (CCE). You will be the primary link between DECSY, our arts partners (Growtheatre and Voz Theatre) and the Senior Leadership Teams of seven participating schools.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Delivery: Oversee the logistics of a professional learning model including three residentials, training sessions and intensive in-school support (co-planning and mentoring).
• Pedagogical Support: Support teachers in integrating techniques such as P4C, Mantle of the Expert, Theatre of the Oppressed and Creative Outdoor Learning.
• Leadership & Equity: Ensure anti-racism and climate justice remain central to all project delivery.

Job description

We are looking for an exceptional individual who can work with and motivate volunteers, take a strategic view on issues affecting the Hertfordshire countryside and represent CPRE Hertfordshire at events and through media. The role also involves management of a small staff team, the oversight of our Governance including finances, reporting, budget, fundraising, communications and volunteer management.

This is an exciting time to join CPRE Hertfordshire, as the candidate will be able to build and influence the new long-term strategy and annual plan with our Board of Trustees in advance of 2027.

The Chief Executive is responsible for:

1. Contributing to and driving the implementation of CPRE Hertfordshire’s strategy.

2. Delivering effective and efficient operational performance of the charity including robust contingency arrangements.

3. Providing exceptional leadership and management of the team – both paid staff and volunteers – and further growing our volunteer cadre.

4. Delivering the marketing and communications strategy, including membership acquisition and retention communications, email and social media marketing.

5. Leading and managing local Branch campaigns and projects as agreed by the Board of Trustees. 

6. Devising and overseeing activities to increase recruitment of new CPRE members. 

7. Devising fundraising activities in line with agreed targets in collaboration with the Board of Trustees.

You will achieve this by identifying, securing, and managing relationships with celebrity supporters, ambassadors, and influencers, whilst also building and maintaining positive relationships with agents, managers, and representatives.

In this new senior leadership role, you will lead and manage a specialist team, whilst also working collaboratively with key internal teams and stakeholders to create high-impact moments and campaigns that increase engagement, relevance, and organisational fame.

You will lead a joined-up strategy across celebrity talent, ambassadors, sport organisations, and broadcasters with the aim of developing a credible, high-performing network of public figures who authentically champion our mission and enhance the national profile and public support for the Society. The organisation serves the communities of Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, and across the East of England and is dispatched by both East of England and the East Midlands Ambulance Service Trusts caring for population of over 10 million. 

This is a part-time, 26 hours per week role offered as a 12-month maternity cover contract. The salary for the role is £32,861 FTE (pro-rata salary of £22,784 per annum).

The Senior Philanthropy Officer will be responsible for identifying, developing and managing a portfolio of funders and donors including trusts, foundations and major donors to meet financial and non-financial targets. You will maximise income through the development of co-ordinated stewardship and relationship management.

The successful candidate will have proven experience in a philanthropy or fundraising relationship management role, within the charity or not-for-profit sector. They are looking for someone with a strong track record in securing and managing philanthropic donors and building long-term relationships.

MAIN PURPOSE

To help people who are making a new Universal Credit claim, working across a variety of channels including telephone, web-chat and video conferencing.

Role overview:

• Use listening and questioning skills to interview clients so they can explain their problems. Empower them to set their own priorities

• Research and explore options and implications so that clients can make informed decisions

• Enable clients to use IT to make their new Universal Credit claim

• Complete benefit checks where appropriate

• Act for the client where necessary using appropriate communication skills and channels

• Refer internally or to other specialist agencies as appropriate

• Ensure that all work meets quality standards and the requirements of the funder

• Ensure that work reflects the Citizens Advice service’s equality and diversity strategy

• Maintain detailed case records for the purpose of continuity of casework, information retrieval, statistical monitoring and report preparation

• Support research and campaigns work through various channels including case studies, data collection and client consent

• Keep up to date with legislation, policies and procedures and undertake appropriate training

• Use telephone and IT equipment for multichannel delivery of advice services including webchat

• Attend relevant internal and external meetings as needed. 

• Prepare for and attend supervision sessions/team meetings/staff meetings as appropriate.

• Ensure GDPR compliant training is completed on an annual basis.

• Ensure all work conforms to Citizens Advice Wirral’s systems and procedures.

• Abide by health and safety guidelines and take steps to ensure your own safety and that of colleagues.

• Recognise the importance of safeguarding procedures within the organisation. Ensure that any concerns, disclosures or allegations of abuse are immediately reported, following the correct procedure.

• To attend occasional out of hours events in conjunction with the work of Citizens Advice Wirral and participate in fund-raising activities.

• Carry out any other tasks that may be within the scope of the post to ensure the effective delivery and development of the service. 

UNIVERSAL CREDIT HELP TO CLAIM ADVISER ROLE: Person Specification

Essential Criteria: 

1 - Level 2 qualifications (GCSE or equivalent)  in maths and English with the ability to interpret statistics, calculate benefits and complete financial statements as well as write up accurate case notes, letters and reports. 

2 - A knowledge of welfare benefits and a willingness to develop detailed knowledge of Universal Credit within the first 2 months of employment.

3 - Experience of using a range of IT systems and packages and a willingness to embrace new technologies e.g. to give advice over webchat and help clients with their online application.

4 - Excellent communication skills and confidence on the telephone, with the ability to question, interview and assess clients in order to get to the root of the issues.

5 - Ability and willingness to work as part of a team and also to develop and maintain positive working relationships with external stakeholders e.g. colleagues at the Job Centre.

6 - A flexible approach as and when required by client needs and the organisational skills to manage a complex workload. Flexibility to work out of hours if required.

7 - Ability to monitor and maintain standards for advice provision and quality assurance.

8 - A commitment to both the aims and principles of the Citizens Advice service and also to equality, diversity and inclusion.

Desirable 

9 - Experience of working within the area of Universal Credit and an existing knowledge of criteria for eligibility.

10 - Demonstrate an awareness of issues facing vulnerable clients, many with mild-moderate mental health problems.
