As the social media officer, you’ll help manage an audience of more than 200,000 people across X, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and YouTube. You’ll respond to comments and messages from the public, engage with our audiences and work with our MS Helpline team to ensure vulnerable supporters get the help they need.

You’ll have a genuine passion for creating engaging social content and a keen interest in the latest trends and social media platform developments.

Working closely with our Social and Paid Media Manager, you will help to scope for and identify new opportunities to grow our online community developing engaging content across news, media, support, information and our core campaigns.

Planning and strong copy-writing skills are essential and you will thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment. You’ll also help maintain regular reports on KPIs and performance.

About You 

Are you a passionate marine/coastal conservationist, looking to work for one of the UK’s best-loved nature charities? If so, then they have an exciting opportunity for you! 

Our client are the largest non-governmental organisation working on marine and coastal issues in the UK, and are looking for a supportive, enthusiastic and knowledgeable colleague to join their ambitious marine team. They work on everything from terrestrial to marine restoration to bring about nature’s recovery, for the benefit of all. Despite Blue Planet and more recently the Wild Isles series, they still have a job to do, to raise the profile of the sea and all that lives within it. 

They know that their coastline is under increasing pressure, and they need to do more to restore and conserve it for future generations – are you the person to help them do that? The coast is changing as sea-levels rise. Without planning, coastal change can be catastrophic for people and sometimes for wildlife. Planning and designing realignment in front of future sea-level rise makes sense, but opportunities are limited. This post will help The Trusts identify those opportunities and coordinate funding and licensing to ensure that realignment works both for those communities affected and helps to restore their wonderful coastal wildlife. 

You will have a detailed understanding of coastal processes, including relevant nature conservation issues. You will need to enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, be organised and resourceful and have meticulous attention for written detail as well as a passion for their cause. You will need to have excellent communication and facilitation skills, be adept at working with lots of information while able to bring out the best in the way they emphasise the work of The Trusts to all.

RSPB Cymru’s vision is for sustainable land management, which is good for people, climate and nature. We want to see farming, forestry and other land management across Wales that:

• Sustains and restores biodiversity as well as producing safe, healthy food, timber and other commodities;
• Protects the natural resources of soil, air and water we all depend on; and
• Provides income and employment for workers in rural areas and contribute to a diverse rural economy.

To deliver our vision we need to work with others to change how land is managed. This includes ensuring farmers, foresters and other land managers have the right balance of support (financial and other) to enable them to deliver for nature in addition to providing food, other commodities and environmental goods and services. It’s also vital we engage wider society to support these changes and make nature/environmentally friendly choices in the way they eat and live.

We are looking for a Policy Officer to join our Wales Land and Sea Policy and Advocacy Team to develop and advocate RSPB Cymru policy positions and proposals on sustainable farming and land management, including the effective use of nature-based solutions. You will work with a range of stakeholders and advocates, particularly farmers, foresters, other land managers, and their representatives, environmental NGOs, statutory bodies and businesses to build, shape and advocate to the Welsh Government and the Senedd, to change the way we manage land to help save nature in Wales.

Key deliverables include:

• Developing policy positions in relation to:
  • Future agriculture and sustainable land management in Wales, including influencing the design and delivery of Wales’ new Sustainable Farming Scheme.
  • Land use/management’s response to climate change including peatland restoration and the use of nature-based solutions.
  • Fresh water, in particular the impact of land use/management on water quality.
• Working with colleagues across the RSPB, and where appropriate, with other NGOs, to ensure key messages and policy positions are aligned.
• Working closely with sustainable farming and land management advocates, such as the Nature Friendly Farming Network, to develop a strong movement for change
• Working closely with staff delivering ‘on the ground’ activities, such as project and reserves teams, and farm advisors, to help showcase best practice and develop “learning” for future policy and advocacy.
• Working closely with staff delivering communications and public engagement to build public and political support for our land use and management policy priorities.
• Increasing public awareness about the connection between land use/management, farming, food and the dual nature and climate emergency.

We are looking for a professional, persuasive and engaging individual with an excellent understanding of current agricultural and land use policy as tools to ensure outcomes for nature, and credibility within relevant stakeholder communities. They should have the skills and personality to be able to bring together dynamic coalitions of interested stakeholders to build, shape and advocate for new policies to secure sustainable land management that is good for people and good for nature.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

• Experience of working in a policy or advocacy role to influence the development of government policy.
• Experience of advocating policy effectively to external audiences (including government, relevant businesses, NGOs) to further specific policy and advocacy objectives.

Green New Deal Rising is building a movement of young people from every part of the UK to fight for a response to the climate crisis that totally transforms our economy to deliver a safe climate and fairer society. The Food bank Campaign Coordinator is responsible for delivering Trussell Trust’s influencing and mobilising work, in their target area, during the General Election. You will do this by building strong relationships with other food banks in your Parliamentary constituency areas of Rhondda and Ogmore, Bridgend and Vale of Glamorgan.  Campaign Coordinators implement Trussell Trust’s national General Election strategy, by using organising techniques to put pressure on PPC’s in each Parliamentary constituency.

You will build and lead local community teams who support ending the need for foodbanks, securing commitments from your PPC’s to ‘prioritise the problem of people going without essentials if re/elected, acknowledging the role social security needs to play in tackling it.’

This role is funded by the Trussell Trust as part of their General Election strategy, and you will be part of a network of Campaign Coordinators around the UK doing this work. You will be the link between your food bank(s) and the Mobilisation team at Trussell Trust, as we build a movement to end the need for food banks.

Responsibilities of Campaign Coordinator:

· To build trusted relationships with food banks during (pre and post) UK General Election. You will hold 1:1 conversations with each food bank in your allocated area and ensure there is clear communication between the food banks.
 

· To support teams of community volunteers. You will have 1:1s with: food bank staff, volunteers, interested individuals, partner organisations and stakeholders in each community to develop community bases for your campaign work.

· To lead effective door-knocking teams in your community.  You will door knock with your community campaign team to drum up support for the campaign, provide members of the public literature on Food bank use in their local community, and invite people to their local hustings.
 

· To help each of your community campaign teams organise a local husting.  You will ensure that your community campaign teams: attend national Trussell Trust webinars, receive national guidance on how to approach PPC’s, understand the Trussell Trust legal GE guidance, understand the logistics of organising a hustings, ensure that the husting is accessible as possible and ensure that the voices of people with lived experience are heard through the hustings.
 

· To develop good relationships with local press and media outlets. You will work alongside national Trussell Truststaff to find key press and media contacts in your assigned area, ensuring your community campaign teams get coverage for their hard work.
 

· To deliver the local campaigning strategy working with food bank staff, volunteers and clients. 
 

· To work with the Organising and Local Mobilisation team in Trussell Trust and engage with the training and support on offer, including work with other Campaign Coordinators in the Trussell Trust network.

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Advocate to join our team covering the East Riding of Yorkshire. Your role will require you to travel to locations such as clients’ homes, hospitals, care homes and within community settings across the area to meet with clients and professionals. You will be home based for administration; therefore, access to your own transportation and a suitable home internet connection is essential. 

About you

Desirably you will have some experience of working in advocacy, or providing welfare, supporting, or caring for Adults or young people who have support needs, ideally for those with a variety of communication needs, mental ill health, physical health issues, or barriers to accessing education and support.

You should have worked or volunteered in health, social care, welfare, support services, education or young person’s services, or advice and guidance.

How will you make a difference?

You will be responsible for ensuring the individual’s wishes, feelings, beliefs, needs, and values are met to create positive outcomes for the people you support.

You will support people to speak up for themselves and grow in confidence, equip them to understand and exercise their rights and options, and will assist them in the decision-making process relating to their care, treatment, and support.

You will work resourcefully and collaboratively with the individuals you support.  You’ll be creative in your approach to empower our clients by ensuring you meaningfully explain people’s options and rights to them.  You’ll support individuals to fully participate in decisions affecting them and will make sure they have their voices heard.

The organisation has evolved over the years and is now the leading UK charity supporting families and professionals affected by childhood acquired brain injury. Working in consultation and collaboration with families and professionals, the charity aims to ensure families can access the support they need, when they need it and to ensure they have the best possible chance of reaching their potential.

Are you a passionate, highly motivated, and organised individual? Do you have brilliant application and report writing skills and are able to build effective relationships with donors? If you are, we are seeking a Trusts & Foundations Officer to be an integral part of the Trusts and Foundations team where you will be responsible for submitting applications to Trusts & Foundations for our services in the UK.

You will be working to deliver our ambitious targets for trust and foundations income for 2024/25 and beyond. The post-holder will help to research and explore new avenues for funding and build a strong pipeline of new donors who have the potential to support the charity. You will be building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders at trusts and foundations and preparing and delivering targeted funding applications to those organisations. You will be able to build upon and develop a compelling case for support for both the services we offer as a whole and for specific projects that reflect our work and values.

Ideally you will be looking to develop your skills with the aim of moving into a management role within the department within the next 2 – 3 years, so this role is to be viewed as a development opportunity.
