Contract
Job description

Our client exists to open up opportunities for adventure through accessible sailing. Founded in 2026, the Trust is building and will operate a fully accessible residential catamaran so that disabled adults and children (including people with complex needs) can experience the freedom, challenge and joy of being on the water. With an ambitious £3m campaign already well underway, the Trust is now looking to appoint their first Head of Fundraising and Prospectus is leading the search.

Head of Fundraising

Contract, part - time (employed / self-employed), 100 days per year

Home-based, UK

£35,000 per annum/£85,000 FTE (if on payroll) / day rate equivalent to be discussed

The Head of Fundraising will play a leading role in delivering the next phase of the Trust's £3m fundraising campaign (with £1.1m already secured and c.£1.9m remaining). Reporting to Andy Beharrell, Chair of Trustees, you'll develop and deliver a focused fundraising strategy and build the relationships, systems and income pipeline needed to bring a fully accessible Dazcat 1500 catamaran into reality. You'll lead prospect research and pipeline management, write compelling proposals and cases for support, and secure significant income across key streams including grant-making trusts and foundations, statutory funders and major donors, while providing clear reporting, forecasting and risk updates to trustees and senior stakeholders.

The selected candidate will bring proven success securing significant income from a range of sources, such as trusts/foundations, statutory sources and/or major donors, alongside strong prospect research, stewardship and pipeline management experience. You'll have excellent written communication skills and a proactive approach to building relationships with senior stakeholders, volunteers and high-value supporters. You'll bring a strategic approach that translates ambition into practical plans and measurable progress. Most importantly, you'll be motivated by the Trust's mission, and excited by the opportunity to help shape a new charity at a defining moment.
