Base of Work: Hybrid, typically minimum 1 day per week at Community Impact Bucks Office near Aylesbury with the rest working from home.

Are you an experienced manager with a sound knowledge of financial management procedures, HR and governance?

We are looking for a savvy and adaptable finance and business operations manager to support our charity with financial management, HR operations, governance and office management.

You will be an experienced manager with strong all-round finance capabilities, driven to ensure robustness and efficiency across all elements of our finance, HR and governance in a busy charity setting.

You will be adept at managing multiple income streams in a complex environment, enjoy supporting Trustees and colleagues in day to day financial management and HR processes as well as working with the Head of Finance and Leadership team on strategic finance and business planning discussions, providing relevant and up to date financial and HR information, taking responsibility for the charity’s day to day accounting and business operation functions.

We are a local charity that enables people and organisations to get involved, helping to build strong and vibrant communities in Buckinghamshire.   

We do this by helping people find volunteering opportunities, advising charities and other not-for-profit groups on all aspects of running an organisation, and directly supporting those most in need in the community.  

The Role 

The purpose of the Finance and Business Manager is to provide the necessary professional expertise to enable the Charity to successfully execute its strategy and achieve its objectives on time and within budget, while exceeding stakeholder expectations.  

The role will be responsible for:  

• Ensuring sound financial and governance procedures and control.
• Overseeing the management of the charity’s internal business operations, including payroll, HR and premises.  
• Line managing the Finance and Operations assistant.   
• Maintaining and developing a sound system of financial management and control, working closely with the Head of Finance.  
• Working alongside budget managers to ensure that they have a full understanding of financial information to enable them to make informed decisions.  
• Leading on day-to-day financial operations including management accounting, timely issue of invoices to clients and funders and collection of receipts, cash flow management, managing investments, VAT, overseeing petty cash, company credit cards, donations and payments, gift aid recovery and purchase invoices.  
• Overseeing the management of the charity’s internal business operations, including payroll, HR and premises.
• Overseeing the implementation of effective HR and recruitment procedures, record-keeping and staff development. 
• Advising on budget drafting and resourcing for new activity and funding bids, including developing and implementing the full cost recovery model.

General Overview of Role

The post-holder will be responsible for writing bid applications within Combat Stress. This will include:

• Support the development and delivery of Combat Stress's bid writing under the leadership of the Director of Fundraising (DoF) and Head of Trusts and Foundations (HTF), in order to support our role as a specialist UK-wide provider of mental health services to veterans with complex mental health needs.
• With guidance and support from DoF and HoTF contribute to the various stages of a bid or tender process.
• Support the team in managing service contracts.
• Ensure compliance with the business development framework and governance processes - with support from DoF and HoTF.

Main Duties and Key Responsibilities

• Complete bid writing in support of the business development agenda of Combat Stress, working with all departments in promoting our services to attract new business and supporting cost-effective service delivery.
• Contribute to our revenue generation agenda by owning and contributing to bid documents such as mobilisation or communication plans.
• Support the assessment of the healthcare market within which we operate, to ensure we are best placed to achieve growth and have the appropriate strategies to mitigate risks
• Support the development, monitoring and delivery of business developments plans, systems and processes in line with our strategy and targets

The role

The Refugee Housing and Move-On Advisor will be responsible for providing an effective and holistic housing support service to Afghans housed in transitional accommodation. The Officer will provide advice, assistance and support to Afghan households to understand their housing options and to search for suitable and affordable properties in the private rented sector in order to prevent and relieve homelessness.

The service will be provided through a combination of workshops, drop-in clinics and targeted one-to-one and group outreach support sessions.

About the Youth Endowment Fund

We’re here to prevent children from becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to change things.

In recent years, violent crime involving children has increased. This is a tragedy. Every child is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them.

The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) is a charity with a £200m endowment that exists to prevent children from becoming involved in violence. We will achieve this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice. A big part of the movement that we need to build is in the world of health. We need to inspire and connect with health leaders across Integrated Care Services (ICBs), Local Health Boards (LHBs), Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and other relevant parts of the system. We need to spread what works and make our country safer for some of our most vulnerable children. We are looking for someone to lead on making this happen.

Key Responsibilities

We are making progress building the evidence of what works within and around health services to reduce violence. But the big risk is that nothing changes. That’s where you come in. Your role is to identify the best way to make change happen within relevant health services. Your main responsibilities will be ensuring that:

• Developing great relationships with senior policy makers, sector leaders and experts, including representing YEF in external meetings and speaking at events.

First-hand knowledge of the system that supports highly vulnerable children, particularly those at risk of or involved in violence. This includes children with conditions such as conduct disorder, psychosis, substance use disorder, ADHD, developmental language disorder, and traumatic brain injury. You understand the barriers these children face and what it takes to get them the right support.

Hybrid Working

About the Role:

The Trust Fundraising Intern will work in collaboration with the Senior Trust and Foundations Manager to be responsible for securing critical funding that sustains our life-changing programs worldwide. The Role
As part of our ongoing strategy for growth and national impact, SCAA is seeking a motivated, strategic and creative individual to take ownership of our marketing and communications function — helping raise the profile of the service, strengthen brand visibility, and support our ambitious income goals. The Marketing and Communications Manager will be responsible for the strategic oversight and development of SCAA’s brand, marketing and communications function. They will lead and manage a small in-house team as well as external consultants and contractors, as required  — ensuring that all content, campaigns and communications align with our brand, engage our audiences effectively, and support organisational goals across fundraising, awareness and supporter engagement. With a strong focus on brand management, digital growth, and content oversight, this role will ensure that SCAA’s voice is consistent, compelling and clearly connected to our ambition that no one in Scotland should die because help cannot get there in time.
