Office Manager
Charity People is delighted to be partnering with the British Society for Haematology (BSH) to recruit their next Office Manager.
BSH is a leading UK professional membership organisation dedicated to advancing the study and practice of haematology. Supporting nearly 4,000 members across the UK and internationally, the Society delivers clinical guidelines, education, research support and professional networking that help improve patient care.
As BSH continues to grow and modernise, they are seeking an experienced Office Manager to oversee the smooth running of the organisation's operational infrastructure and internal services.

Salary: £45,000
Contract: Permanent, Full Time
Location: 100 White Lion Street, London, N1 9PF
Hybrid: Flexible hybrid working (typically two days per week in the office)
Reports to: Director of Corporate & Membership Services

About the Role
This is a broad operational role responsible for ensuring the organisation runs efficiently on a day-to-day basis. You'll oversee facilities, suppliers, contracts, IT coordination, health & safety and HR administration, while supporting the continued improvement of systems and processes across the Society.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing office facilities, maintenance and suppliers
- Acting as the key contact for outsourced IT providers
- Managing contracts, procurement and service performance
- Coordinating operational processes and continuous improvements
- Overseeing health & safety and organisational compliance
- Supporting HR processes including onboarding, training and employee records
- Liaising with external advisors including HR, legal and health & safety providers
- Line managing the Governance & Executive Officer
About You
We're looking for a practical and organised operations professional who enjoys creating structure, solving problems and improving ways of working.
You'll bring:
- Experience in office, operations or facilities management
- Experience managing suppliers and service providers
- Strong organisational and project coordination skills
- Confidence working with systems and outsourced partners
- Experience supporting HR or organisational processes
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach
Previous experience within a membership body, charity or professional organisation would be beneficial but is not essential.
