This is a rare opportunity to lead our Support & Communities teams who provide direct support, practical guidance and other patient focused activities to over 1500 members and their families, UK-wide, whose lives are affected by MPS, Fabry and related diseases.

Our Support Team raise awareness both within the MPS community and external agencies, offering information, advice, support, and advocacy in a range of areas including health and social care, housing, education, transition, independent living, palliative care, and bereavement.  Our Projects and Communities team contribute to the development of our resources and facilitate project work such as youth engagement, advisory boards, and support groups, as well as leading on support focused social media.

Ideal candidate

As Head of Support & Communities, you will exhibit strong leadership skills and have significant experience working within a health and social care or relevant field of work.  You will have an in-depth understanding of the needs of those with disabilities, their families and carers. 

You will primarily be responsible for the overall management and development of the teams and the services they provide. As the company safeguarding lead you will have an in-depth understanding of policy and procedure to protect all.  You will be a relationship builder who cares about the community we serve and ensures that the individual (or family) remains at the centre of support. 

You will have a good understanding of managing budgets and able to produce accurate monitoring/evaluation reports. Excellent IT skills and the ability to plan, prioritise and deliver to tight timescales are essential.  You will be self-motivated and highly organised, juggling many strands of work. 

As a team player, you will demonstrate a willingness to participate in the day-to-day activities of the team, have excellent staff management and development skills along with the confidence to motivate and inspire. 

You will have the passion to work with us to develop our services, play an active role in our senior leadership team and work with members and other key departments to move the charity forward to achieve its goals.

This is an essential car user post. The applicant must hold a current UK driver’s licence, with no more than 6 points, have access to a car and be able and willing to drive UK wide as required.

This role is offered on a hybrid basis with a minimum of 2 days in our Amersham office each week. As part of the role, UK wide travel is necessary. which may on occasion include early morning and/or evening working and sometimes overnight stays.  You may also occasionally be required to attend evening or weekend conferences and events. Main Responsibilities:

• To work closely with MHR, HR Team and consultants to ensure that tasks are scheduled and completed to meet project timelines.
• To co-ordinate work with HR and Payroll colleagues to ensure all relevant payroll processes are captured, reviewed, and, where necessary or appropriate, changed to ensure they are fit for purpose with the new system.
• To be responsible and manage the configuration of the new modules, working with HR and Payroll colleagues, MHR and other consultants to ensure that it is configured to Family Action’s requirements and that the rationale and effects of our chosen configuration is clearly documented.
• To work alongside the HR Systems and Operation Managers to ensure that the HR and Payroll teams are trained and supported in the effective use of the system as pertains to their roles.
• To be responsible and manage user testing of the new system and any parallel runs as part of the implementation process.
• To act as the Payroll System Administrator for iTrent, taking the lead on technical functionality and expertise and liaising with MHR as required for technical solutions.
• To support the Payroll team with other ad hoc duties, as may be required for running an effective and efficient payroll system.

• CIPP qualified or significant experience working in Payroll in a Payroll  Manager or payroll system development and implementation role
• Significant experience using and administrating itrent payroll systems, including liaison with system providers.

Morden College is seeking a dynamic Brand and Digital Manager to support the Communications Lead
to put Morden College’s brand and new Strategic Framework at the heart of everything we do to deliver excellent homes, high quality services and thriving communities. This is an exciting role that will help transform resident and staff engagement with a number of projects in the pipeline that you will support including brand development work, a new website and the development of e-communications through a new CRM system. 

As a passionate brand ambassador, you will work to embed the brand internally, maximising, opportunities to amplify the brand, and driving brand consistency. With creativity and strong design skills, you will be responsible for producing in-house online and print assets, while deepening engagement with residents, staff, volunteers, and the wider public.

Main duties and responsibilities 

Brand strategy and development 

• Support on the development and implementation of Morden College brand strategy driving engagement across the charity and ensuring consistency across all platforms. 

• Act as an internal brand consultant across the organisation, collaborating with teams to amplify the brand and maximise brand opportunities. 

• Support and collaborate with the Communications Lead to deliver assets to evolve the brand in line with Morden College’s new Strategic Framework. 

Content creation and storytelling

Digital presence and visibility

  accurate and timely information for residents and external audiences and ensure content such as images and blogs are regularly refreshed. 

• Utilise SEO and web analytics to support the evaluation, development and promotion of the website.

• Support in the development of Morden College’s email communications, sending out a regular e-newsletter and other updates though email campaigns using Mailchimp. Monitor, analyse and report on its effectiveness.

About Us

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Governance Officer to join our team and help ensure strong, effective governance across the organisation. This role is key to supporting the charity’s trustees and senior leadership team to meet their legal and regulatory responsibilities, and to uphold the highest standards of accountability and transparency.

Key Responsibilities

Board and Committee Support

• Coordinate meetings of the Board of Trustees and sub-committees, including scheduling, agenda planning, and circulation of papers.
• Take accurate and timely minutes and ensure appropriate follow-up actions are tracked and completed.
• Support trustee recruitment, induction, training, annual board effectiveness survey and skills review.
• Maintain trustees register of interests updating it annually or as and when needed, whichever is soonest.

Governance Best Practice

• Draft new, review and update existing policies and procedures in line with current legislation and best practice ensuring they are on a rolling timetable for review.
• Monitor developments in charity law, governance codes, and relevant regulations, advising colleagues and trustees accordingly.
• Support risk management and contribute to the maintenance of the organisation’s risk register.
• Maintain the register of Leukaemia Care’s contracts with external suppliers and funders.

Organisational Support

• Work collaboratively across teams to ensure governance is embedded in the culture and operations of the charity.
• Support internal audits and the implementation of recommendations.
• Provide guidance on good governance practices across the charity.

Purpose of the Evaluation Consultancy

We want to understand, evidence and improve the impact of OSH’s work. This evaluation consultancy will:

• Deliver an independent evaluation report of OSH’s impact to date.
• Co-produce a robust, coherent, ethical evaluation framework with OSH’s young people, staff and volunteers which is aligned with OSH’s ethos, Theory of Change and strategic priorities.
• Test and iterate this framework across our residentials, hubs, and leadership programmes.
• Develop tools, templates and staff training to ensure OSH can embed and sustain a culture of learning and impact internally.

Objectives & Scope of Work

The consultant will be responsible for (not necessarily in this order):

1. Design & Deliver an Independent mixed-methods evaluation
2. Co-design & test an impact framework
3. Embedding & Handover

• Independent evaluation report, written in an accessible format including a one-page summary briefing.
• A refined Evaluation Framework with defined indicators, data collection methods, and ethical guidelines.

• Staff-facing evaluation guide (written in accessible, youth-friendly language).
• Workshop or training session for OSH staff on using the framework.

Timeline

We anticipate the work to take place across July 2025 - January 2026, with the report based on phases 1 and 2 complete by the end of 2025. The consultant must be available to work closely with OSH teams and visit residentials and hub.

The Finance & HR Lead

We are looking for a Finance & HR Lead to take charge of the financial health of our charity by administering a high quality and effective financial management service to The OutHouse. The OutHouse is going through a period of change and we need a finance practitioner who is able to support the organisation in its financial management. Customers need support with daily living activities, including practical assistance, cooking, feeding, cleaning and person care. The role will also require you to maintain appropriate records to a professional standard in accordance with Look Ahead's policies and procedures.
