Youth Delivery Mentoring Officer

Context and Background
The NSPCC relies on voluntary income for the majority of its work to keep children safe, prevent abuse and ensure every child has a voice. To secure long-term sustainability, the charity has reshaped how it engages supporters through the Engagement and Fundraising Directorate.
Within this, the Philanthropy and Partnerships Department brings together high-value audiences and supporter-led income. The Volunteer Board Fundraising team leads income generation through regional and national volunteer boards, volunteer-led fundraising initiatives and delivery of special events through our high value event committees. These activities play a vital role in maximising sustainable income, engaging senior volunteers, and supporting long-term supporter relationships.
The volunteer boards are made up of influential and successful senior stakeholders who feel passionately about the NSPCC and volunteer their time to help the NSPCC generate income and awareness. They employ a range of fundraising techniques to reach their goals – their focus being to use their networks and influence to secure income generating opportunities via events, corporate partnerships and major gifts from individuals.
The team works closely with colleagues in Philanthropy and Partnerships (corporate partnerships, major gifts, trusts and statutory), Public Engagement (marketing, brand, digital), and Fundraising Operations (data, compliance, finance, procurement) to ensure volunteer fundraising is integrated into supporter journeys, delivers excellent experiences, and achieves strong ROI.
With the support of a Fundraising Manager, the role of the Fundraiser is to cultivate and steward key relationships and deliver special projects across the volunteer boards and their network to deliver against annual income plans.
Job purpose

Main duties and responsibilities
Contributing to Volunteer Partnerships Strategy and Income
· Contribute to the delivery of the Volunteer Partnerships annual business plan to maximise net income and long-term value through the volunteer boards
· Support the high-value volunteer boards and their networks, ensuring their fundraising and engagement delivers sustainable income and long-term value

Managing Volunteer Relationships

Budgeting, Finance and Evaluation
· Contribute to the budgets for volunteer fundraising activity, whilst supporting the Fundraising Manager to accurately monitor income and expenditure
· Work with the Fundraising Manager to ensure accurate data capture and reporting
· To provide financial administrative assistance to budget holders, including processing invoices, placing orders, undertaking financial analysis, cash handling and banking in line with NSPCC policies and procedures.

Person specification
1. Experience of building effective relationships through face to face interactions with existing and new high-level individuals and/or organisations, leading to securing fundraising income via long-term partnerships.

Do you have experience supporting vulnerable people with complex needs in a Housing, Hostel or Supported Accommodation environment, and are you ready to take the next step into a supervisory role?
We have an exciting opportunity for a Temporary Accommodation Support Supervisor (18-month maternity cover) to join our Housing team, working to support some of the district’s most vulnerable adults to move on from temporary accommodation into longer-term housing solutions.
You will play a key role in the day-to-day running of Council-owned homeless accommodation in West Oxfordshire, ensuring high-quality, safe and well-managed services. Working closely with internal teams and external partners, you will help residents develop the skills and support they need to move on successfully, while also supervising and supporting a small team of Temporary Accommodation Support Officers.
This is a rewarding but demanding role, ideal for someone who combines empathy with professionalism, resilience and strong organisational skills.
What you’ll be doing
- Supervising and providing day-to-day direction to Temporary Accommodation Support Officers, with direct line management responsibility for two staff members
- Ensuring the efficient running of Council-owned homeless accommodation, maintaining high service standards and maximising occupancy
- Managing hostel budgets, minimising voids and ensuring residents are supported to claim the correct benefits and meet service charge requirements
- Carrying out and overseeing risk assessments, health & safety checks, and property inspections, ensuring repairs and issues are reported promptly

- Supporting residents to access benefits, support agencies, employment, education or volunteering opportunities

What we’re looking for
Someone who values structure, confidentiality and professionalism alongside compassion and support. You will be working with sensitive personal information and must demonstrate a strong understanding of safeguarding, GDPR and professional boundaries.
You’ll need to be resilient and adaptable, able to remain calm and confident when working in challenging environments or emotionally complex situations. Teamwork is essential, as is the ability to work independently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
You will also need a sound understanding of housing legislation, including the Housing Acts, the Homelessness Reduction Act and associated guidance.
You will need
- A qualification equivalent to a degree or at least five years’ relevant experience in Housing, Housing Management, Supported Accommodation or a hostel-based environment
- GCSE Maths and English (grade C/4 or above, or equivalent)
- Experience of working with vulnerable people with complex needs
- Experience of supervising staff or supporting service delivery within a housing or support setting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence using IT systems, including Microsoft and Google packages

About Beyond Reflections
Beyond Reflections is a UK charity providing dedicated mental-wellbeing support to Trans+ people, as well as to their families,
friends, and allies. We offer a combination of group support, one-to-one services, and therapeutic interventions delivered by experienced case workers, counsellors, and therapists.
Our work spans both online and in-person settings, ensuring support is accessible, confidential, and rooted in compassion.
From facilitated support groups and tailored counselling to mentoring, safe social spaces, and specialist guidance, we aim to meet people where they are and provide the right help at the right time.
We play a wider role in strengthening inclusion across society. Our training and development programmes, which have been delivered to organisations such as the CPS, Hampshire Police, B&Q, and the University of Southampton, focus on Trans+ awareness, allyship, leadership coaching, conflict resolution, and policy development. All income from this work goes directly into our hardship fund, enabling us to support those who would otherwise be unable to access help.

Job Description
The Chief Executive will provide clear, compassionate, and forward-looking leadership that strengthens Beyond Reflections’ impact and ensures our services remain safe, accessible, and responsive to the needs of the Trans+ community. They will translate the Board’s vision into organisational strategy, oversee effective operations, and build a culture rooted in our values of respect, inclusion, and empowerment. They will be responsible for guiding the charity through a period of growth in response to increasing demand. This includes developing partnerships across the charity and public sectors, driving financial sustainability, supporting staff and volunteers, and ensuring our services maintain the highest standards of quality and safeguarding.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Organisational Development
● Lead the delivery of the charity’s strategic plan, ensuring the organisation remains responsive to the needs of the Trans+ community.
● Identify opportunities for growth, innovation, and collaboration across the sector.

ROLE SUMMARY
The Mentoring Coordinator will contribute to upReach's mission, by helping to manage the day to day running of our professional mentoring programmes (Professional Mentoring and Ask an Expert). Professional Mentoring sees students on the upReach programme matched with a professional for a six month period, while Ask an Expert allows students to directly contact professionals for one-off conversations.
GRADUATE SCHEME SUMMARY
The Mentoring Coordinator role is part of upReach’s Future Charity Leaders Programme (FCLP). The FCLP provides you with a unique opportunity to:

Work directly on the upReach mentoring programmes, supporting young people and professionals to form successful mentoring relationships (4 days per week), while also;
-
Gaining exposure to various aspects of charity management through 6-month rotations (1 day per week).
-
Receiving training in Leadership throughout, and have the opportunity to complete an apprenticeship in Leadership and Management after 18 months on the programme (in place of rotations).
The FCLP is designed either for high-calibre graduates from any university, academic subject and background - or for those with experience in the corporate world who are looking for a career change and experience in the charity sector.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

The Mentoring Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that upReach’s mentoring programmes (Professional Mentoring/Ask an Expert) operate smoothly and effectively, and will report to the Volunteering Programme Manager. You will work alongside the Programmes and Partnerships teams to ensure that matches are successful, and that both mentors and mentees have a positive experience of mentoring at upReach.
1) Supporting the smooth running of mentoring programmes:

Deliver day to day operational tasks, including making mentor and mentee matches and responding to professional/student queries received via the Mentoring inbox and the mentoring platform;

Act as the primary point of contact for mentors/professional volunteers and students using the upReach mentoring platforms, and take action to resolve any issues raised;

Proactively monitor the success of all mentoring relationships/interactions using mentoring platform data, identifying any concerns and taking action to resolve them;
-
Develop and deliver training sessions and resources with the support of the Volunteering Programme Manager to ensure that mentors, professionals and mentees have a high-quality experience.
2) Supporting Partnerships and Programmes teams:

Work with the Programmes team to encourage Associates to register for and participate in the mentoring programmes;
-
Work in collaboration with the Programmes and Partnerships teams to help ensure that all mentoring outputs are delivered effectively and on time, and support them with reporting back to partners;
-
Act as the point of contact for employer partners whose primary activity is mentoring, and provide updates on impact measurement for these partners.
3) Rotations in different areas of charity management

As part of the FCLP programme, work on rotational projects designed to give you a greater exposure and understanding of the different areas of charity management;

You will have a six month rotation in each of the following areas during your first 18 months on the programme: (1) Fundraising, Partnerships and Comms, (2) Operations and Strategy (3) Project and Product Management;

Each week you will work on projects related to your current rotation (7.5 hours per week). These projects will be agreed with your Rotation Manager, in line with the learning objectives for each rotation.

About the role
Our Welfare Officers provide direct and impactful welfare support to RAF personnel and their immediate family. As a trusted and confidential source of support, you will assist our service users with challenges they are facing, from mental ill-health, difficult relationships, domestic abuse, financial and cost-of-living concerns, resettlement, housing, childcare, equality issues, bereavement, military discharge or deployment and many more - no day will be the same, as such this is a great opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills within the Welfare sector.
Our intervention is provided with consent on a non-statutory basis, and you will work with and engage our service users to develop appropriate interventions for individual outcomes.
Our service is transitioning to become more accessible and inclusive, digital technology plays a key role in this, as such you will use digital technologies to complement and enhance processes and service user experience.
You will play an active role within the community, promoting the service through the delivery of presentations and representing the service at public engagement events. About you

About the role
You will be responsible for offering infant feeding support for parents within Hackney borough community, within Family Hub settings, on the phone as well as in Homerton Hospital.
Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:
- Providing breastfeeding support to families within Family Hubs settings within Hackney, on the phone and on the wards at Homerton hospital.
- Support in delivering inductions for volunteer peer supporters.
- To report any concerns or additional support needs of women to the NCT management team and/or Infant Feeding Lead for referral onto partner agencies as appropriate.?
- To attend regular supervision/support sessions.
- Having a good working knowledge and understanding of the local demographics in the Hackney area and ensuring all support is accessible and inclusive.
- Ensure that data collection and feedback is collected in a timely manner in an inclusive way.
About you
You will:
- You must have good communication skills and be able to build relationships and create a rapport with a wide range of people easily. This is a large project and covers multiple locations so you must be able to confidently prioritise your own work, be highly organised and able to work independently.
- Being able to make decisions and respond appropriately to our staff, peer supporters and parents and other external stakeholders.
- It is essential for this post that you undertake the training to become an NCT Breastfeeding Peer Supporter. This requires experience of giving breast milk. The training can be undertaken within your working hours.
- The role is 21 hours per week which will be predominantly Monday to Friday within the working day, however, will include occasional evening and weekends. This role is mainly based at family hubs setting across Hackney borough as well as in Homerton Hospital.

About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a lively, dynamic and driven fundraising events team. Over the last decade, Breast Cancer Now has built up a strong events function, with community fundraising and events currently accounting for nearly a quarter of the charity’s overall voluntary income.

About you
We’re looking for an individual with excellent attention to detail and a passion for charity fundraising. An understanding of and experience with administrative tasks as well as event logistics and working in a fast-paced environment is desirable.
You’ll be a key point of contact with hundreds of our supporters and staff, many of whom will be in touch via email, phone or social media, so an understanding of using these channels and delivering customer service, particularly in the charity sector, is preferable. You should also have a demonstrable ability to work to deadlines and have experience working as part of a team.

Primary location of role and hybrid working
This role is primarily based in our London office. Our hybrid working model allows you to work up to 3 days per week at home.

About the role
Our adviser teams work within local areas providing a wide range of expert information and guidance, via a variety of channels including community settings. You’ll provide a personalised service that enables appropriate levels of self-advocacy and/ or advocate on behalf of clients, signposting to other services as relevant.
You’ll empower people affected by Parkinson’s, their families and carers to live lives that are as fulfilling as possible and to take an active role in their treatment becoming their own advocate in health and life, wherever possible.
What you’ll do:

Provide in depth, person centred information and guidance to clients by a range of means, including community settings, and ensuring the most efficient and effective use of resources in line with service policy.

Respond to enquiries through a range of channels and areas based on service need, keeping accurate, up to date online client records in line with practice.

The Environmental Investigation Agency (EIA) is a UK-based charity that investigates and campaigns against environmental crime and abuse.
We are a bold and investigative environmental organisation dedicated to exposing and combating environmental crime and abuse. Through undercover investigations and hard-hitting reports, we shine a light on transnational wildlife crime, illegal logging, deforestation, and the destruction of marine ecosystems.
Our work drives action to protect elephants, pangolins, tigers, and global forests from exploitation, while also tackling the devastating impacts of plastic pollution, bycatch, and commercial whaling. In the fight against climate change, we advocate for stronger enforcement of international agreements targeting super pollutants like HFCs, methane, and ozone-depleting substances, pushing for a transition to sustainable cooling and clean energy.
By influencing policy, guiding enforcement agencies, and partnering with grassroots activists, we create real-world change and drive systemic solutions to protect our planet for future generations.
The role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join EIA’s Climate Campaign team, specifically focused on eliminating ozone-depleting substances and hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) in the cooling sector. Areas of focus will include supporting the implementation of the EU’s ambitious regulation on F-gases, driving ambition in the UK’s F-gas regulatory review and engaging in EIA’s work on sustainable cooling.
The Climate Campaigner will be responsible for the day-to-day running of key aspects of the F-gas campaign, including co-ordination of an EU NGO partner group. The role requires strong communication and organisation skills, a proactive and reliable work ethic and the ability to work across multiple outputs simultaneously. As well as advocacy and campaigning, the role will involve research and writing of publications, strategic planning and evaluation, information management and internal coordination.
About you:
You will have experience in advocacy and campaigning on European (including UK) and/or global environmental policy. In addition to this, you will have a good understanding of climate change and of UK, EU and global climate policy.
You will be proactive in your communication skills, with the ability to develop and maintain new contacts. You will be experienced and confident in effective communication within a hybrid working environment.
You will be able to digest and integrate technical, scientific, policy and legal information as well as to relate it simply and persuasively to non-expert audiences.
You will be degree educated or equivalent in a relevant field.
What we offer:
Location: Hybrid Working – usually this would be at least 2 days in the office, more expected during probation and induction period, but this is flexible with line manager agreement. Travel will be required as part of the role.
Hours: 40 hours per week, including a paid hour for lunch
Salary: £36,000 - £40,000 depending on experience
Contract Type: Permanent
Holiday: Annual leave package of 25 days annual leave ( days off between Christmas and New Year) Bank Holidays a day off on your birthday, with an additional day per year up to a max of 29 days.
