At Qube we are working in partnership to make a difference in Shropshire by providing volunteer brokerage and governance support to voluntary groups and organisations.

The role of the Volunteer and Infrastructure Officer is to support the Volunteer and Infrastructure Team Lead within the Voluntary and Community Support team providing high quality information, support and expertise in infrastructure support opportunities available to groups and organisations within Shropshire.

They will promote volunteering and encourage new volunteers to come forward for the benefit of Shropshire groups, organisations and communities. Provide governance advice, support, and guidance to local community/charitable groups and organisations, including support to staff/volunteer managers on volunteer recruitment and retention and develop working relationships with community led/based local groups to support future growth and sustainability.

They will also offer and make aware training opportunities and provision to support group and organisational compliance and safety.

This is currently a fixed term position until 31st March 2025 with extension possible dependent on further funding. 

Our client is a highly regarded International Development Organisation with a Head office based in Central London.  They are looking for an Interim HR & Operations Coordinator on a FTC basis until Mar / Apr 2025.

The HR & Operations Coordinator is accountable to the HR & Operations Manager and will work closely with the Finance team as well as senior management. In addition, this post has considerable interaction with members of the UK Head office and Country staff based overseas.

Main responsibilities

Human Resources

To be the first point of contact advising managers and staff including secondees on all general HR operational enquiries in adherence to company’s policies and procedures, legislation and best practice.

Supporting Senior Management on complex disciplinary, grievance, capability cases.

Coordinating recruitment campaigns and supporting the team in implementing the 2024 recruitment plans.

To support the learning and development function and needs arising from the appraisals process including the administration and co-ordination of internal training programmes.

To ensure HR Records are up to date, accurate and compliant with legislation including administration of the online system to record absence (sickness, holiday TOIL).

Provide departmental reports to the Senior Management Team when required.

Key Responsibilities

1) Overseeing Financial Management, Reporting, and Monitoring (60%):

• Manage the financial aspects of funded scholarship programmes, including budgeting, reporting, and monitoring spending.
• Prepare narrative and financial reports for donors, coordinating with UWC schools.
• Lead the process of collecting and analysing data on scholarship recipient students and refugee students across all UWC schools for donor reporting, brochures and publications.
• Collate invoices from UWC schools, create invoices for donors and process invoices for payment.
• Ensure accurate record-keeping and efficient use of the accounting system.
• Support the improvement of impact tracking for funded programmes.
• Support the philanthropy and finance teams with the annual audit by coordinating information gathering and documentation on funded programmes’ financials.

2) Supporting Student Stewardship for All Funded Programmes (10%):

• Plan and organise annual onboarding and offboarding sessions for IO-managed scholars.
• Develop appropriate information materials for scholars and UWC schools to support timely and quality donor reporting.
• Implement a yearly offboarding survey with scholars, working closely with the Engagement Team.
• Support coordination between UWC schools and national committees during the selection process and pre-departure preparation.

3) Coordinating University Partnerships (10%):

• Coordinate partnerships with universities on behalf of UWC International, working closely with the Senior Adviser, UWC counsellors and EducationTeam.

4) Assisting the Philanthropy Team with Administration incl. Donation Services (20%):

• Manage donation management processes and support donor stewardship processes, including processing online donations through donation platforms and preparing donation acknowledgement letters for donors.
• Maintain data on Raisers’ Edge database and philanthropy dashboard, preparing management updates.
• Coordinate introductions for new philanthropy staff members at UWC schools.
• Oversee subscriptions to databases and respond to inquiries via email.

Experience and skills

• Deliver ReachOut sessions at the same partner school on the same day and time weekly during term time.

• Facilitate engaging ReachOut sessions for the young people attending by ensuring that the voice of young people is listened to and impacts the way the sessions are planned and facilitated.

• Support theyoung people in your session to reach and be confident in their potential by facilitating the creation of good mentee/mentor relationships and by running activities to build the ReachOut Character Strengths.

• Complete monitoring and evaluation activities to ensure the sessions are as impactful as possible and set up strategies with the help of your line manager to help each young person in your group reach their mentoring goal.

• Keep in touch with the parents/carers of the young people in your group about attendance, successes and challenges.

• To be the first point of contact for the existing network of Digital Champions in the borough, and support organisations to recruit, onboard and manage new Digital Champions.

Our partner, an international charity, seeks an interim finance manager to support the international finance team. The successful candidate will be an all-rounder, with experience in preparing consolidated annual accounts, management accounts, whilst being hands on and taking on transactional elements of the role.

Responsibilities

• Day to day accounting and administration, including posting transactions; payment of suppliers and staff expenses; international bank transfers to overseas country offices; setting up and processing regular giving payments, and processing one off donations; banking; and process monthly payroll.
• Undertake reconciliations of bank and balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, including BVA analysis and summaries, and income and expenditure reports for budget holders.
• Prepare the annual consolidated accounts and financial statements, and support in the preparation of the annual audit, liaising with the overseas country offices.

Requirements

• Qualified or part-qualified accountant with all-round experience working in a small team within an international charity. Experience of leading on the production of annual consolidated accounts as per charity SORP in the UK, management accounts & analysis, and managing day-to-day accounting and administrative tasks.
• Hands on, able to manage a varied workload.
• Strong business partnering skills, able to work with finance and non-finance staff in the UK and overseas offices, budget holders and liaise with third parties, including banks and auditors.
• Strong communication skills.

This is a part-time role (3-4 days/week), that can be done either remotely or hybrid, coming into the office 1 day/week. All candidates (even remote) must be based in the UK and have the right to work in the UK without requiring sponsorship. This is a 6 month parental leave cover. An immediate start is preferred.

About the role

The Supporter Care department is looking for a Supporter Donations Assistant to join our Supporter Donations Processing team for our Peak Season – this role becomes available each year to help us with the influx of donations we have around our headline fundraisers including Coffee Morning, Go Sober and our Macmillan Ball.

You’ll be accurately processing high volumes of manual income from various payment methods, inputting donations from our supporters on our income allocation system, creating meaningful personalised thank you letters and cards. In addition, you will undertake a range of admin duties in general support of the smooth and effective operation of Supporter Donations as a whole.

You’ll be working across multiple systems – CRM, SMS (internal income system), Sharepoint, DotDigital, Raisers Edge, Microsoft Outlook & Office and be expected to use initiative to follow internal process maps and documents to independently complete your work. We’re always open to doing things better, so welcome a proactive approach to efficiencies that we can make in the team.

You may also be required to work with our two other teams within Supporter Donations – Donations Queries & Gift Aid to assist them in resolving queries from our supporters and helping to process and claim Gift Aid sponsorship forms.

You will liaise with stakeholders across the organisation including our Finance team, colleagues across Supporter Care, Relationship Fundraising Managers and product teams in order to accurately thank and process supporter donations received by Macmillan across all channels, process event registrations & donations and restrict income where required. You will be delivering recognisable, high quality Macmillan correspondence in line with Brand and Strategy guidelines and messaging.

Initial training is due to be delivered in the London office - arrangements to be discussed dependent on contractual location

Overview

Healthwatch Newham wishes to employ a Deaf Outreach Worker.  The role will work with the Deaf community on an action plan of delivery to make improvements across Newham. This is a fixed term contract of 12 months and you will work in partnership with the Newham health and social care system.

You will be a Deaf person with life experience of being Deaf and Deaf culture. You will be fluent in British Sign Language (BSL) and used to working in a bilingual environment with Deaf and hearing colleagues.

We have developed a job description for the Deaf Outreach Worker.  This will provide further information on Healthwatch Newham and the role.  It will include the main tasks and responsibilities, and the skills and experience we are looking for.

We are looking to recruit two additional project officers mainly to help deliver our Live Love Later Life and Healthsmart services whilst providing organisational and administrative support to help these run smoothly.

An exercise qualification and experience of delivering health checks are highly desirable. However, if you do not hold these qualifications you will need to undergo a chair-based exercise qualification and blood pressure training. Applicants need to be willing to undergo this training. They also need to have the confidence and enthusiasm to deliver exercise to groups of older people whilst motivating participants that may have a variety of physical and cognitive challenges. These attributes will be assessed through a task during the interview process.

We have become a trusted entity in the world of conservation. Today FFI is active in over 40 countries.

Impact monitoring plays a key role in conservation management — to ensure effective delivery of projects — and is something that donors are increasingly interested in seeing. This internship will provide an opportunity for someone at the start of their conservation career to gain experience in the design, development and implementation of robust project Monitoring Evaluation and Learning (MEL) processes, developing skills in data handling and management essential for assessing impact of project activities.

This internship will support current work to design and deliver MEL at the project level and across the Africa programme portfolio, by helping to support establishing systems and processes that enable the analysis and presentation of data gathered as part of Fauna & Flora’s work in Uganda.

As part of our work in Uganda, members of the community have been collecting data on chimpanzee sightings, threats and human-wildlife conflict. However, the systems and methods used to collect this data have changed over time, making comparing data between years and identifying conservation impact achieved challenging. This inconsistency in data management is a challenge faced across Fauna & Flora that we are seeking to address.

During this internship, you will work with the Uganda team, who have been working alongside partners to conserve chimpanzees in a human-dominated landscape since 2014, and the Conservation Design & Impact (CDI) team, who aim to support and increase biodiversity conservation impact across Fauna & Flora’s global portfolio and the communities and partners with whom we work. Working with both teams, you will help ensure that community-gathered chimpanzee datasets are utilised to their full potential to maximise impact of the project. You will focus on cleaning, analysing and presenting existing data, as well as ensuring that future data collection systems allow for updated analysis to be conducted quickly and easily. You will work closely with the Uganda Team to ensure that anything developed fits their current and future needs but learnings from your work will also be applied to other Fauna & Flora projects.

You will learn about the importance of impact monitoring to conservation projects, as well as specific technical skills in data analysis and presentation, in particular, geographic information system (GIS) skills. You will learn about chimpanzee conservation, particularly the issues facing the species in a subsistence farming-dominated landscape. Finally, you will learn how a busy international NGO works, and have the opportunity to build networks in the sector.

Note that this internship has been designed to create a professional development opportunity for people who are new to the conservation sector. Therefore, applicants should have less than two years paid or unpaid experience in the conservation sector (not including academic work).

This role is not eligible for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker Visa.

About the team:

Kinship is in the third year of delivering the first national peer support service for kinship carers in England. We have created 145 peer support groups and supported and trained kinship carers to create and lead their groups in a way which meets their needs.

With a new contract from the Department for Education, we’re now entering a new phase of our service with a focus on:

• creating 90 new sustainable peer support groups in areas of most need over 21 months;

• sustaining and developing the current 145 existing groups; and

• providing support and help to build a sustainable and welcoming community for all peer support groups across England.

This role will coordinate the ‘hub’ resources and content with a focus on supporting sustainability and building resilience of peer support groups and their leaders.  Specifically, this role will manage an ‘online hub’ for support group leaders and provide an excellent ‘customer experience’ for all support group leaders. You will support the hub innovation.

Together with the Peer Support Hub Lead you’ll take a human centred approach to working with group leaders to develop a central hub of accessible and useful resources and activities (for in person and online).  You’ll build good relationships with support group leaders, building in their insight to develop resources and activities that will support them in their role.

You’ll help kinship carers to sustain their groups, working with colleagues across Kinship to promote consistent access to services and activities (training, programmes, information, advice and campaigns), ensuring a joined-up user experience.

About the role:

The role of the Peer Hub Coordinator will provide operational delivery of the Peer Support Hub. With excellent marketing, communication and digital skills this role will work with the Peer Support Hub Lead to develop an ‘in person’ and online peer support community.

 In this context, your role supports the centralised ‘hub’ of the service, delivering an exciting programme of training, speakers, toolkits and resources to help peer support group leaders develop, build and sustain their group well. This will be building on and innovating the current Support Group Network.

 Your role will support group leaders to feel connected and supported, learn from each other and build a powerful and resilient peer community.

The type of person we're looking for:

Super organised, you are someone who uses their initiative, anticipates challenges and proactively provides seamless solutions. 

You’ll be comfortable with using digital technology and tools to build communities and develop resources. You’ll be curious about digital community tools, and you’ll want to work closely with our digital and content team to develop an amazing online experience.

You’ll also be a people person – understanding how building ‘in person’ relationships is key to unlocking community power for kinship carers.

You’ll be the right-hand person to the Peer Support Hub Lead making sure we deliver a really brilliant experience.

Key responsibilities include:

• Operational delivery, innovation and management of a dedicated online and in-person peer support ‘hub’.

• Building direct and positive relationships with support group leaders.

• Roll out mechanisms and tools to support groups to remain sustainable including but not limited to; informal buddy matches, online hub for support group leaders, monthly e-news, monthly speakers, themed specialist training (like setting up a safe Facebook group / promoting your group) and celebration events.

• Facilitation of regional network meetings.

Essential requirements include:

• Experience of developing jargon-free content for different audiences and channels.

• Experience of providing project support, delivering plans on time and evaluating outcomes.

• Experience of stakeholder communications and building relationships with stakeholders (e.g. beneficiaries and partners).
