About the role:
Reporting to the Head of Programme Finance, you will provide effective financial business partnering to MAG’s Regional and Country Programmes, Strategic Partnerships team and other key internal and external stakeholders. You will ensure the delivery of high quality financial information and support across multi-regional and multi-country activities, enabling informed decision making, strengthening ways of working and supporting the effective financial management of MAG’s multi-country contracts. You will work with your key stakeholders to ensure that contracts deliver value for money and remain compliant with donor and statutory requirements. About you:
You will be a finance professional with significant experience in either commercial or NGO environments, including preparation of business planning in complex scenarios and multiple currencies. You should be curious and risk aware, with strong analytical and evaluation skills, the ability to gather information from diverse sources tactfully and convert findings into detailed, actionable solutions. You will be a strong communicator over a range of mediums, able to engage stakeholders from varied backgrounds in a clear and constructive way. You should have strong experience of using mid-range accounting systems and reporting tools (e.g. PS Financials, Sage, SUN etc.), and advanced knowledge of of Microsoft Excel and database reporting tools to add value to business processes and reporting. ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a varied role leading a small but impactful charity. As our Operations Manager, you will lead a diverse team of volunteers, and work alongside a small staff team, to lead RAIS Lancaster’s work supporting asylum and refugees through drop-ins, office-based appointments, and projects.
You will work alongside our Senior Support Worker to deliver high quality and complex casework, and our Treasurer/IT Manager to assist with funding bids and monitoring and evaluation of our projects. You will be the front-facing staff member for our partnership work, and liaise with key stakeholders. The Operations Manager will also work closely with our Trustee Board on strategy and governance.
ABOUT THE CHARITY
RAIS Lancaster is a charity founded in 2017 to offer advocacy, information, and support to refugees and asylum seekers in our area. We are volunteer-led, with a small staff team of two currently. We currently offer five drop-ins a week for asylum seekers and refugees, in collaboration with partner organisations, in Lancaster and Morecambe. Each drop-in is staffed by paid and voluntary workers.
We also conduct support work for asylum seekers and refugees facing more complex issues in one-to-one appointments in our office at the Cornerstone in Lancaster, and accompany clients to appointments where appropriate to offer support and advocacy. As the needs of asylum seekers and refugees in our area change, we adapt and develop our work to support those we work with. We are expecting to soon be registered with the Immigration Advice Authority.

We're looking for a compassionate, proactive and organised Refugee Resettlement Support Worker to join our Resettlement Team and support individuals and families arriving through Government resettlement schemes. The role is predominantly focused on families resettled from Afghanistan, although support may be provided to people arriving through other schemes as well.

You'll work directly alongside refugee families as they settle into life in Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole and wider Dorset, helping them navigate unfamiliar systems, access services and become active members of their new communities.
