We are looking for an exceptional, value-driven candidate who can hit the ground running as our Legal Education Officer, working closely with the Director and the rest of our small and dynamic Right to Remain team.
The person must be someone who understands the Right to Remain ethos and is prepared to bring their whole self to our organisation. Needless to say, the role requires an impeccable grasp of the asylum and immigration system and its operation on the ground, including how it impacts our community of people seeking asylum, refugees, migrants, their families, friends and allies. It requires an ability to help and guide our community to navigate the complex and hostile asylum and immigration system.
You will be working closely with the Director and the rest of our small and dynamic Right to Remain staff team: another Legal Education Officer based in Leeds (generally) covering the North, the Organiser based in Manchester leading our mighty These Walls Must Fall, and the Engagement Officer based in London. In particular, the post holder will be closely coordinating their work with another Legal Education Officer in Leeds. The post holder is also expected to be already embedded in the local and regional asylum and migration field, familiar with its dynamics and able to tap into their existing relationships and connections with local groups and actors.

With the rest of the team, you will be responsible for maintaining, developing, and increasing usage of our highly popular and accessible resources about the asylum and immigration system, most notably the Right to Remain Toolkit. You will deliver interactive workshops on the legal system for people navigating that system as well as professionals and volunteers. You will engage with our network of community groups to ensure that we are apprised of developments on the ground and we are communicating important changes to these support groups. You will also work with the Director and other colleagues to develop and deliver specific public legal education projects, when necessary. You must have outstanding communication skills and the ability to engage with a wide range of audiences, in a manner that reflects Right to Remain’s mission and values.

We build and run fully accessible cinemas within hospitals, screening the latest films at no cost to patients or the NHS. The Role
Reporting to the CEO, this new senior leadership role is central to ensuring MediCinema’s financial sustainability, operational excellence, and people-centred culture. The Director will lead the charity’s finance, HR, and business operational functions, ensuring robust systems, compliance, and strategic alignment with our mission.
This is a hands-on role for a values-driven leader who thrives in a collaborative, purpose-led environment and is passionate about improving patient experiences through innovative service delivery.
This role will be managing external HR and IT consultants and supported by a part time (1 day per week) assistant.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Strategy
· Participate in strategic and business planning processes, supporting the CEO and trustees to develop the strategic plan
· Serve as a key member of the Senior Management Team (SMT) contributing to the strategic direction and day to day management of the organisation.
Finance
· Lead the finance function, overseeing budgeting, forecasting, management accounts, and statutory reporting.
· Ensure robust financial controls and compliance with regulatory requirements.
· Manage cashflow, reserves, and risk, supporting strategic financial planning.
· Lead on financial reporting to the Board and relevant committees.
· Oversee payroll, pensions, and financial administration.

Business Operations

· Work with the external IT consultant to maintain and evolve the infrastructure, systems and processes in place to align with business needs and industry regulation

· Manage contracts, suppliers, and internal processes to ensure value and efficiency.
· Support the commissioning of new MediCinema sites, including project planning and stakeholder engagement.

HR and People Development
· Lead on strategic workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, and talent retention.
· Embed inclusive HR policies and practices aligned with MediCinema’s values.
· Provide support and evolve processes to strengthen employee relations, performance management, and wellbeing.
· Support line managers in developing high-performing, motivated teams.

Governance and Compliance
· Maintain up-to-date policies and procedures across finance, HR, and operations.

The Person
Experience and Background
We are seeking a strategic leader with experience across finance, operations, and HR — ideally within the UK charity or public health sector. You may have worked in healthcare, education, or social impact organisations, and bring a strong understanding of compliance, governance, and people leadership. Candidates with a relevant background in SMEs may be considered, but will need to demonstrate a commitment to quickly developing the specialist knowledge required by charity regulations and an aptitude for operating within the third sector.
You will be comfortable working in a hands-on, collaborative environment, with a deep respect for MediCinema’s mission and values.
Skills and Qualifications
· Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or AAT)
· Strong understanding of HR, IT, risk management, and governance in small teams
· Proven experience managing budgets, audits, and accounts (Quickbooks experience ideal)
· Excellent project management and strategic planning skills
· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead and mentor others

Main duties and responsibilities
This is a generic job description that covers all the different roles of an industrial officer.
1. Bargaining
- Develop a bargaining agenda with activists and members, ensuring all bargaining activities are informed by the PCS equality agenda, policies and practices
- Take responsibility for negotiations with the management of civil service departments, agencies, public and private sector employers including pay and conditions of service of PCS members
- Represent PCS at joint meetings with management and other trade unions
- Prepare and present reports, and undertake effective monitoring and implementation of decisions, including consultative and legal ballots e.g. on pay and industrial action

2. Campaigning

We are looking for a part time Membership Officer to work 3 days a week (Tuesday, Thursday and Friday), alongside our existing part time Membership Officer. The position is hybrid, with at least one day a week (Tuesday) in the office in Archway. Together, they will lead on administrative support of our membership functions. Reporting to our Office and Events Manager, the post holder will be responsible for the administrative functions that support the smooth running and ongoing success of the organisation around membership.
This is an interesting and varied role that acts as a first 'point of contact’ for the people we work with (such as Member Institutions, Registrants and queries from members of the public), as well as managing the administrative aspect of memberships, such as setting up new Registrants on our CRM system. What you will be achieving
The Grants Officer will be a member of the Biomedical Grants and Policy Department. You will work with a Grants Manager to administer a portion of the Academy’s portfolio of grants schemes and activities. You will act as a key point of contact for external liaison relating to the schemes. The Grant Officer will be line managed by a Grants Manager.
What you will be doing
Administering a portion of the Academy’s portfolio of grant schemes:
- Processing applications, determining eligibility and coordinating peer review of eligible applications
- Convening and supporting the awarding panel, including preparation of committee papers, reports and financial information, as well as preparing feedback to applicants
- Managing the new grants once awarded, along with the Academy’s existing portfolio of grants
- Supporting the monitoring of awards and evaluation of grants schemes
- Analysing data and preparing papers, presentations and reports to demonstrate the impact of our schemes for internal and external use
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date data on grants
- Researching and reporting on initiatives being undertaken by other UK funders
Liaising with stakeholders:
- Working with the Academy’s Fellowship, in their roles as peer reviewers, selection panel members and Chairs, honorary Officers and members of Council
- Acting as a key external point of contact for the Academy’s grants schemes, such as by providing advice to applicants, awardees, and host organisations
- Developing and maintaining working relationships with scheme funders
- Working with other Academy staff, particularly the rest of the Careers department and supporting the other Grants Officers in the delivery of their schemes, as required
Supporting the development and delivery of events for Academy grant holders, for example induction and scientific meetings for grant holders
Contributing to the Academy’s wider portfolio of work, including drafting and providing data for papers for the Academy’s governing committees
Acting as line-manager or project manager for one of the Academy’s interns, on a rotation basis and when the opportunity arises
Performing any other duties that might be reasonably expected, and which are commensurate with this level of post

We are looking to recruit a new CEO who believes in our vision that there should be “No Street Called Home” for children living on the streets in Uganda and who wants to help us to grow this impact and further change children’s lives.
Our Journey
S.A.L.V.E. International was founded in 2008 by Helen Huthwaite and Nicola Sansom. Since then, we have gone on to resettle 978 street connected children with their families. We have also supported 378 young people through education, rehabilitated over 1000 street connected children at our Residential Centre and initiated 495 small businesses to support families. Over the years, our advocacy work has included being part of Small Charity Week in the UK parliament, and being part of a delegation to the UN with the Consortium for Street Children.
Today we employ 4 staff in the UK and 27 in Uganda. Our annual turnover is approximately £300k. New developments in our work include sports programming and a very promising tailoring course. We are well on track to achieve our 2022-27 strategic goals - reaching more children, expanding support for girls, strengthening families and improving our funding sustainability.
Looking forward, the demand for our services continues to grow, whilst charities in general are facing a very difficult financial position. We are looking for a Chief Executive Officer who will consolidate and develop existing initiatives and continue to diversify our provision. They must be able to enhance our efforts to improve our long-term financial sustainability. Working in collaboration with the Board, they will develop our next strategic plan in line with our vision and values.

Key Activities

STRATEGY
- Lead the organisation by working collaboratively with our global team of staff, volunteers, and board members to ensure a strong strategic plan is in place, which is reviewed and improved over time to maximise the organisation’s impact.
FUNDRAISING
- Leading and championing our fundraising strategy. Helping to develop our one off and regular financial supporters through finding new opportunities and networks, giving talks, ensuring quality timely communications, and reporting to existing supporters.
- Supporting and co-working with our Development Manager to research new application prospects, and helping to maintain and develop the income from our existing network of corporate, organisational and Trust and Foundation partnerships and donors. This includes writing and reviewing funding applications and reports as needed.
- Lead on the drafting of larger or multi-year funding applications, with support from the Development Manager to finalise.
FINANCE
- Overseeing the budget and financial management of the organisation to ensure the organisation’s long term sustainability and sound financial management, including creating the annual budget for approval by the UK Board.
- Collaboratively reviewing the charity’s financial controls and performance, including a final review of the monthly accounts (UK and Uganda), and overseeing the internal audit of our accounts with the finance committee.
- Ensuring the organisation is financially compliant according to the Charities Commission and meets all statutory requirements.
HR
- Recruiting, training, developing and managing staff and volunteers in the UK to help to build the capacity of the organisation as needed. This currently includes line managing: Ugandan Country Director, Development Manager, Communications Manager
- Support the Country Director with recruitment in Uganda.
- Creating a strong sense of team spirit and a culture of appreciation and reliability within the team by reinforcing organisation values and ensuring accountability.
GOVERNANCE
- Working closely with and supporting our UK and Ugandan boards to ensure that the governance of the organisation is strong.
- Lead on creating, reviewing, and developing policies, procedures and systems, including but not limited to ensuring quality safeguarding and risk management for the organisation.

COMMUNICATION
- Overseeing the communications strategy of the organisation, ensuring the website, social media, newsletters, annual report and mailings out to supporters are kept up to date by supporting our Communications Manager. This includes drafting and checking copy and promoting and marketing events and campaigns for the organisation to raise funds and awareness.
- Being an advocate for the organisation, by seeking and maximising opportunities to represent the organisation, to help raise awareness and support for the work we do and the needs of street connected children generally.
PROGRAMMES and OPERATIONS
- Leading and collaborating with the wider team to develop and improve our programmes through regular evaluation and learning reviews.
- Support the Country Director to ensure the organisation operations function smoothy, and that the strategic plan can be implemented.
PARTNERSHIPS
- Representing S.A.L.V.E. in partnerships and networks such as the Consortium for Street Children to ensure that we are making the most of funding, partnership and advocacy opportunities.
- Manage relationships with key partners in the UK and internationally, to ensure we are collaborating to achieve the greatest impact.

- To be the Safeguarding Lead within the organisation, and continually strengthen safeguarding as a priority in all our work.

About the role
The Administration and Finance Officer plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of GISF’s operations. About this role: Reporting to the Deputy CEO, the Head of Business and Market Development will build on SIB’s existing research and findings on market scope and scale, organisational financial resilience, the cost of capital and fund financial modelling to support the delivery of SIB’s ambitious new strategy, and hit our business development targets as part of an ambitious growth plan. This new post will develop SIB’s work and the rigour and robustness of our market and financial analytics in order to grow the organisation, the amount of investment under management and the annual disbursement of grant funds.
Key responsibilities
1. Working closely with the CEO and Deputy CEO support the delivery of ambitious growth targets under the new strategy.
2. Oversee the regulatory transition to FCA regulation for a defined number of SIB subsidiaries, drawing together the relevant internal documentation, working with the FCA – and any specialist retained consultants – to ensure that SIB is quickly and effectively accredited.
3. Work with the CEO and Deputy CEO to advance SIB’s applications for capital from Public Finance Institutions including the National Wealth Fund.
4. Working with the wider BD team, draw on market and financial modelling that incorporates existing data on SIB’s customers across its funds (using e.g. IMD, turnover, assets, age, business model) to develop excellent bids and tenders for new grant funds and to structure successful investment raises.
5. Oversee the reporting of all funds managed through the SIB group subsidiaries to their investors. This should include quality control of regular analytics, KPIs and case studies, regular catch up calls with investors and occasional presentations remote and in person.
6. Oversee the regularity and quality of analytics of SIB’s enterprise level impact to provide a consistent snapshot across all funds, including for SIB’s internal subsidiary board meetings.
7. Work with the Market and Financial Analyst to develop a strategic approach to financial modelling of funds. This should include an approach to cost base calculations (taking into account variability in disbursement rates, portfolios under management, loan vs. grant, capital vs. revenue, pace and automation), consistent treatment of interest payments, management and administrative fees and internal investment. The base model should be able to inform forward planning and business development, as well as serve to stack up the financial viability of BD opportunities as they arise.
8. Work with the Systems and Data teams to ensure that the base model is embedded within SIB’s operations and informs fund and programme management.
9. Lead a horizon scanning function that effectively drives comparative benchmarking against competitor / peer organisations.
10. Oversee the team’s work with the Finance and Governance teams to ensure that market analytics include effective customer feedback, collected regularly and embedded in key performance indicators.
11. Alongside the Deputy CEO and the wider Data, Insights and Advocacy team, oversee the delivery of the annual impact report, bringing colleagues together to identify key findings and deliver each report. Ensure that the impact report reflects market analytics, providing context that identifies SIB’s leadership and place within the wider sector.
12. Oversee the management – as needed – of any external consultants working on more complex financial models / additional research and learning that contributes to market or business development.
13. Alongside the Deputy CEO and the wider BD team, design and facilitate general learning sessions and programme specific learning sessions with small and large groups, this may include partners, customers and the SIB Board as well as colleagues. Elicit learning from these sessions, share findings and support your colleagues to integrate action points into our systems. This learning approach should particularly reflect how customer need / satisfaction is met by different fund and programme structures.

About the Role
As Compliance Officer, you will play a vital role within the Careers Team, working closely with Career Specialists and the Systems and IT Manager to ensure that data is accurate, consistent and captured in a timely way.

We are looking for an experienced and conscientious Finance Officer to join the core team in delivering Exeter Community Initiatives's (ECI) day-to-day financial procedures.
ECI is a dynamic charity working in Exeter and across Devon to ensure that people are supported at an early stage to reduce the risk of crisis, promote empowerment and allow people to thrive in happy, strong and diverse families and communities.
Responsibilities

Process sales and purchase invoices, obtain correct authorisation

Post transactions onto Xero using relevant department and fund

Set up supplier and salary payments through online banking

Raising customer invoices
-
Bank reconciliation, resolving any queries
-
Reconcile petty cash
-
Record, monitor and reconcile shop takings and other income

Assist with payroll data

Process staff expenses via Xero

Banking
-
Monitor expected income and follow up on any overdue payments

General office support (answering the phone/helping visitors)

Candidate Requirements
Essential
-
AAT level 2 qualification or at least 2 years’ equivalent experience

Familiarity with Xero Accounts software

Confident using Excel spreadsheets

As a leading animal welfare charity with a proud history since 1965, we are seeking a visionary and dynamic Chief Executive Officer to lead us into our next chapter. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our charity and ensuring the animals in our care receive the very best support.
As Chief Executive of Margaret Green Animal Rescue, you’ll lead a proud organisation delivering rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming, and providing lifetime care for animals with complex needs across Dorset and Devon since 1965. You’ll harness the charity’s tangible local footprint across three rescue centres and a network of retail shops to elevate outcomes, scale supporter engagement, and embed operational excellence.
You’ll be the catalyst for significant strategic change—partnering closely with the Board of Trustees to set bold transformational objectives and KPIs. You’ll transform our operating model to meet current and future needs, oversee a data and IT modernisation programme to strengthen insight, efficiency and compliance (from donor management and welfare tracking to retail operations), steward budgets and risk with rigour, and act as the charity’s primary spokesperson to media, partners and the wider community.
The role is full‑time, based at Head Office in Church Knowle, Dorset, with regular travel across centres and shops, and offers a competitive package including 30 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays. The Role
As CEO, you will provide inspirational leadership and strategic direction, working closely with the Board of Trustees to deliver our mission and vision. You will be responsible for:
- Leading the development and implementation of a revitalised strategic plan, ensuring alignment with our values and ambitions
- Driving operational excellence across all areas, including animal welfare, fundraising, retail, and administration
- Championing a ‘One Charity’ culture, embedding consistent ethics and best practices across all teams and locations
- Acting as the primary spokesperson, enhancing our profile and engagement with supporters, partners, and the wider community
- Overseeing financial stewardship, risk management, and the effective use of data and technology to support organisational goals
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and charity governance requirements
About You
We are looking for an exceptional leader who is passionate about animal welfare and ethical leadership. The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven senior leadership experience, ideally within the charity, animal welfare, or related sectors
- Demonstrable experience in strategic planning, organisational development, and change management
- Strong financial acumen and experience in budget management and income generation
- Experience in data and IT management, including digital transformation
- Excellent communication, advocacy, and stakeholder engagement skills
- A commitment to the highest standards of animal welfare
Experience in retail operations, fundraising, and working with Boards of Trustees is desirable.
