We are looking for an Interim External Affairs Manager to help lead our communications activities from 24 June 2024 to 31 December, while our permanent External Affairs Manager is on sabbatical. This is a particularly exciting time to join the team, as we seek to maximise our impact ahead of the next general election and develop our strategy for the next few years.
The successful candidate will help to manage the day to day work of the External Affairs team, including supporting colleagues to enhance our reach on social media and digital channels, deliver our events programme and deepen our impact with key audiences.

We need a new Director of Communications. You’ll be responsible for helping us communicate the Gospel and the great work we do in our communities, and telling the good news stories that encourage and inspire us as we embark on our strategy to deliver the Diocesan vision to “bless the 1.5 million people” in our diocese who currently have no meaningful connection with our worshipping communities. The vacancy
You will be central to the leadership and management of Outward Bound and realising the ambition set out in The Next Horizon, leading the financial stewardship of the organisation. A fully qualified accountant with proven experience at a senior level in a finance role with responsibility across the whole finance function, you will have substantial financial leadership and commercial acumen. Experience in a national level organisation of comparable complexity is also required.

The Opportunity
The Business Development Director will have strategic responsibility for income and growth, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to maximise business opportunities. The small yet busy Solution Delivery Team is expanding from six to ten employees, sitting within the IT Department. The team work within Cats Protection to identify issues and provide technical solutions, utilizing both off the shelf products or in-house developed solutions as required. Responsibilities of our Power BI Developer:
As a Power BI Developer you will be working with a number of departments within Cats Protection to understand their data and reporting requirements. You will need to identify any quality issues with their data, as well as work with the departments on how best to resolve historic data issues and improve processes to ensure future data is captured to a high standard. The data will then need to be moved in to our Power BI platform where you will create user friendly and accurate reports to show this data.
Current projects include:
- Supporting existing reports and dashboards for Neutering Finance to track processing times and backlog
- Building a number of reports for our Volunteering teams to track foster home inspections, volunteer availability, and surveys of the volunteers
- Supporting a network of Power BI Champions within the organisation, providing them with data and supporting them in finetuning reports to better inform decision-making
What we’re looking for in our Power BI Developer:
- At least 3 years of experience using Power BI and extracting data from SQL, Excel and SharePoint.

About the role
We are currently at the beginning of an exciting and ambitious program to transform our organisations Digital, Data and Technology - becoming a trusted partner for colleagues in the organisation.
In the last year we have implemented a new CRM platform based on Salesforce and Azure platforms while continuing to adapt to modern ways of working post pandemic that have changed how our physical locations are best utilised.
As Senior Network Engineer, you'll play a key role in maintaining and supporting our current physical network hardware and solutions while we look to adopt a cloud first approach moving away from our current dependency on physical locations and legacy services.
You'll work closely with the wider technology team on the development of our office infrastructure as we look to expand our current use of Meraki solutions to support us in providing office services to several charity partners alongside Save the Children UK.
Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Monitoring our office and server platforms network connectivity to ensure availability, uptime, and responsive systems for the organisation using tools such as WhatsUpGold and Meraki portals and Azure monitor
- Maintaining our server platforms network connectivity, whether on premises, in private cloud or public cloud
- Maintaining and developing our physical office locations connectivity for end users and tenants alongside our Facilities team
- Working with our partners to maintain our WAN and cloud connectivity
- Helping implement solutions that are secure and follow Zero trust principles
- Maintaining current technologies such as Fortigate firewalls
- Implementing new technologies such as Zscaler and Azure Firewall
- Providing connectivity solutions that meet business requirements
- Documenting current and future solutions to ensure accountability and to promote Team and Organisation understanding of technologies.
About you
You'll have a track record of delivering solutions/platforms that empower organisations and understand how networks and connectivity provide the backbone of solutions and how critical infrastructure is to delivering business services.
To be successful, it is important that you have:
- Significant experience in a hands-on role delivering enterprise class networking – switching, routing and Wifi
- Demonstrated experience working as a Senior / established Network Support Engineer supporting department colleagues and business users in a large-scale organisation
- Ability to Troubleshoot a variety of Technologies both independently and with third parties
- Enterprise Switching and Routing expertise
- Firewall management experience – Fortigate or equivalent Next Generation Firewalls

This is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished cyber security engineer to join our Digital Enablement team. This new role has been established to lead and implement the audience and business growth
strategy for ICA audiences alongside developing and delivering a sustainable, entrepreneurial

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Philanthropy
- Lead, develop and implement a Business Growth strategic plan that brings a mix of
sustainable income derived from individual giving, trusts and foundations and corporate
sponsorships - Work with the Director to develop strategic revenue generation opportunities across the
business and key ICA stakeholders - Lead a Fundraising team to research prospective donors and supporters and build a
pipeline of donor acquisition, including bespoke donor packages - Collaborate with strategic partners on the development of compelling partnership
funding/income/business growth proposals - Maintain an overview of trends and developments in fundraising and business growth
across the artistic and cultural sector - Contribute to business growth and fundraising forecasts to the annual and longer-term
strategic business planning process. - Ensure effective CRM measures are in place and leading on timely and applicable
communications to key stakeholders including audiences, funders and members - Alongside the Director, personally steward relationships with major individual donors

- Lead, develop and implement an Audiences and communications strategy alongside the
ICA’s internal and external colleagues and PR agencies - Lead marketing campaigns for ICA’s work and manage a range of activity that supports
ICA to meet its organisational objectives - Maintain and develop ICA’s brand in international, national and local markets, ensuring
ICA’s identity is maintained across all communications channels - Oversee the ICA platforms including its website, socials, media and the overall user
experience to ensure that they serve the organisational objectives - Develop and deliver a coherent marketing and communications strategy that promotes
ICA, and enables the institution to meet its income targets - Develop, implement and maintain ICA’s overall digital and social media strategy

About the Role
Our team currently consists of 8 dedicated staff members and is led by our CEO, Anne Bishop. The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a new role for BAUS. It will be a key part of our Senior Leadership Team, playing a vital part in the development and implementation of our strategy and deputising for the Chief Executive.

About you
