ABOUT THE ROLE

We are hiring a Mental Health Floating Support Coordinator to support our Luton Service which delivers support to individuals living within the community who have support needs pertaining to their mental health and wellbeing. The service works alongside statutory services, with the aim of moving people on to independent living within two years. You will empower and motivate our residents and participants to achieve their personal goals and gain greater independence, which enables them to reintegrate into the community and lead fulfilling lives. The support offered is tailored to the individual needs of the participants and residents through a recovery based model.

Who is the service for & what is it funded/ accessed to deliver?

• Men and women, aged 18+
• Our clients have a primary mental health need, including complex needs and dual diagnosis

All our clients have a personalised support plans and proactive support work, to engage them with the opportunities available to them to live independently in the community, develop their social skills and independent living skills. We work with clients to improve their health and wellbeing, including supporting people to manage their mental health condition and crisis prevention.

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00

• Recognise signs of deteriorating mental health and initiate appropriate interventions to prevent a crisis.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external persons and agencies.
• Administration duties will vary.

Other responsibilities than those described above may be required to be undertaken from time to time and will be expected to be performed to as long as it is within the capability and level of the position. 

KEY CRITERIA

What we are looking for:

• IT Proficiency, ability to learn new software programs, basic Microsoft experience is required
• Experience of working with people of complex backgrounds, including in the criminal justice field, mental health, and/or substance misuse or a good understanding of the sector
• Understanding of the housing and social needs of people with multiple and complex needs
• Able to influence and negotiate positive outcomes with others

What we would like, but not essential:

• Appropriate qualification: NVQ/Diploma Level 2 in Health & Social Care/Community Justice, or professional equivalent
• Experience of providing housing support and a practical assistance within a residential or outreach support role
• Experience creating co-produced support plans and providing appropriate interventions for service user and liaising with other professionals

What we offer:

This is a fixed-term contract, initially for 18 months.  The role is a part-time position, working 3 days / 22.5 hours per week.

We are looking for a Complex Caseworker to join our Rough Sleeping Navigator team in Bristol who provide intensive support to male clients with complex needs experiencing homelessness. This passionate team offer person centred support service to help people who require a specialist intervention approach to support them through the transition from rough sleeping into sustainable accommodation.

In this role you will work collaboratively with the Rough Sleeper Navigator Coordinator and Outreach team as well as relevant partner agencies in Bristol to deliver sustainable outcomes to a male cohort of clients.

• You will advocate for clients who have been some of the most marginalised in the local area, to make a real and long lasting difference to their recovery.
• You will be responsible for overseeing a caseload of clients and providing day to day support to clients with their transition from the streets into accommodation and independent living with a strong focus on tenancy sustainment and rescue.
• This includes working with people on health, housing, employment and training support. You will be given support to build strong relationships with a range of other services to find creative and sustainable routes to recovery for clients.

The Role

You will ensure that our supported housing is managed in line with contractual obligations, taking responsibility for financial performance and lettings while regularly identifying service improvements and maintaining high quality data.

Responsibilities include:

• Delivery of a consistent high-quality customer-centric support services, such as allocations, income, and tenancy management
• The operational performance for an area of our supported housing, managing key areas such as health and safety, compliance, finance, customer satisfaction, and lettings
• Partnership working – building and managing our relationships with a range of local authorities and external partners
• Ensuring that services are delivered within approved budgets, in accordance with contractual requirements and within legislative and regulatory frameworks and best practice
• Leading on investigation of complaints and cases of anti-social behaviour, ensuring resolution
• Taking responsibility for ensuring that we provide our residents with a safe living environment, that staff and contractors are working in a safe fashion

What you'll need

You should have previous experience in a similar role, either with a background from within housing or experience with partnership working and leading successful teams. Knowledge across specialist housing is advantageous but not essential. You’ll also need:

• Demonstrable team leadership experience, developing and supporting a high performing team
• Excellent stakeholder management experience, with an ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Effective communication skills, influencing and adding challenge where needed
• A clear focus on customers and understanding their needs to deliver excellent customer experience
• Ability to identify and find innovative solutions to any challenges

We are currently in search of a passionate and committed male older peoples’ programme worker to join our team and lead a weekly a men’s group, as part of the thriving Over 50’s programme. The role involves designing, leading, and facilitating various activities and sessions aimed at improving physical and mental wellbeing, and improving community connection amongst older people. This role supports the delivery of METRO’s groups for LGBTQ+ young people, alongside a Lead Youth Worker. The successful applicant will work with the Youth Group Lead to deliver sessions, promote the group and complete administrative tasks associated with the groups. The role sits in METROs vibrant Youth Domain Team, where we are all motivated by creating safer spaces for all LGBTQ+ and questioning young people to thrive.

Programme

METRO youth groups provide safe, social spaces for LGBTQ+ young people to meet and receive support from youth workers and their peers.

The groups provide a structured programme of activities which is co-designed with young people. The programme addresses key areas such as mental health and wellbeing, sexual health, drugs and alcohol awareness, as well as rights for young LGBTQ+ people. The programme supports with employment, study, life skills, and healthy living.

The groups also provide opportunities to connect and participate in cross-group events such as half-term events, Prides, Youth Summits, and other opportunities. To support this staff is required to occasionally change their working pattern to other evenings and weekend work. Employees are offered sessional work as and when there is a need in the domain.

Role

This role will primarily be posted at METRO’s weekly “Snap” LGBTQ+ group in Bromley for 16–24-year-olds. The group is delivered in person. The role will occasionally support cross-group events and outings as per agreement. METRO Youth workers are often offered extra sessional work to provide cover in other locations across south London. Staff travel expenses outside of regular place of work is covered by METRO.

To provide safety planning, support, advice and assistance to women and their children who have experienced domestic violence and abuse and are staying in the refuge.

The focus of this role is on preventing domestic abuse by provide support, advice and assistance to adults and their children affected by domestic abuse and are staying in refuge/safe accommodation and ensure that they are provided with secure, high-quality accommodation. 

The post-holder will work to empower and support women and children to make positive choices and will establish resettlement services to support women and children to move on from refuge/safe accommodation.

To participate in the delivery of the on-call out of hours on a rota basis. There are 2 positions avaialbe one working with Adults only and the other working with Adults Children & Young People. Please advise of your preference when applying.

Housing First is an innovative approach to supporting the most excluded and hard to reach clients. It focuses on finding housing first and then addresses the issues that have contributed to an individual’s homelessness.

The new Reading Housing First service aims to support hard to reach clients with complex needs by sourcing independent tenancies and providing intensive support into long term accommodation. By adopting a flexible, creative and personalised approach, the service aims to support individuals to manage their tenancies in the community and rebuild their lives. The innovative new Housing First and Complex Couples Move on Support service will continue to support individuals, as well as helping couples who have experienced homelessness and struggled to stay in long term accommodation to find and keep a home, together.

• In the role of Housing First Worker, you will work 9-5 Monday to Friday, working with a person centred approach to support clients in their own homes as well as in the community.
• You will be responsible for managing a small caseload of client’s day to day, delivering ongoing and intensive support to help people set up their home, with the overall goal of supporting them to sustain their tenancy and achieve individual goals and aspirations.
• You will develop the skills to build and maintain effective relationships with local partner agencies to support clients throughout their recovery.
