Brief role description
The NST Client Advisor plays a key role in delivering the support centre function for the programme, acting as the first point of contact for veterans who have served in the UK Armed Forces and are at risk of, or involved in, the Justice System. Working closely with the Nova Support Team (NST), you will provide initial advice, guidance and assistance, assess individual needs, manage case information and connect veterans with appropriate support services. The role involves receiving and triaging referrals, making timely first contact, completing initial registrations and maintaining accurate and detailed records on the case management system.

We are seeking a compassionate and people-focused individual who can build trust and communicate clearly while supporting veterans with a range of complex needs. You will have experience and guiding and supporting individuals with strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to provide accurate advice and direction. You will be proactive, IT Confident and able to work both independently and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. JOB PURPOSE
To provide information, advice, support and advocacy work on all forms of gender based violence faced by migrant women, including forced marriage, rape and sexual abuse, honour based crimes and related issues such as immigration/asylum and no recourse to public funds, matrimonial and children, housing and homelessness, mental health and financial matters. Your casework will focus on women with complex needs.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provide a professional high-quality VAWG advocacy and outreach service.
2. Undertake casework and advocacy (this will include liaising with relevant professionals and agencies such as solicitors, social workers, police officers etc.)
3. Provide practical support such as accompanying women to appointments and courts, making reports to such agencies or collecting belongings and otherwise taking all necessary steps to ensure the general safety and wellbeing of women and children.
4. Write assessment reports and support letters, and under supervision, help to collect evidence and statements, as well as undertake some basic legal representation.
5. Undertake risk assessments for referral to the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARACs)
6. Establish links with key partners [local authority, police, health, schools, etc.] to ensure effective referral routes and information sharing protocols.
7. Assist in developing and meeting quality standards in relation to advice and casework. This includes administration and IT systems for advice and casework.
8. Cover the helpline as required.
9. Assist migrant women to access immigration advice, and assist in meeting their housing needs.
10. To undertake campaigning and policy work arising from the advice and casework (this may involve some weekend/evening work)
11. Where necessary to assist staff in organising and running support group activities and consultations for women who are isolated and vulnerable due to their experiences of violence and abuse.
12. To publicise and provide S4S services, and attend, contribute and represent the organisation at relevant local meetings or initiatives.
13. To support and mentor the Women’s Council.
14. Follow S4S policies and procedures, and maintain IT and case file management systems.
15. Contribute to S4S record keeping and provide information for monitoring, evaluation, policy, and research and training purposes.
16. Ensure women are referred to S4S projects and activities as required for example, counselling or group work.
17. Support women residing in the refuge as required.
18. Be self-servicing and to assist other workers when required.
19. Undertake any additional duties which will contribute to the smooth running of the S4S services and projects.

About the role
The main purpose of this role is to provide quality support to children and young people who are victims and survivors of sexual violence. You will be responsible for completing comprehensive initial needs and risk assessments, developing and delivering personalised safety and support plans for clients, many of whom have additional vulnerabilities and have complex needs.
You will need to be able to build and maintain effective working relationships with the Police, statutory and voluntary agencies to deliver the best possible outcomes within a multi-agency setting. As well as being tenacious in support of your clients and adept at problem solving.
To be successful in this role you will need to be approachable, flexible and caring, demonstrating empathy at all times. You will have had lengthy experience of direct service delivery (casework) with people with complex needs (ideally with children) and will have a good understanding of the impact of sexual violence offences on victims and survivors and of safeguarding issues. You will also have an excellent understanding of and commitment to the promotion of equal opportunities and diversity.
IT literacy is a must and candidates must evidence both the ability to use bespoke packages and excellence in their recording practice. If you do not possess an ISVA accreditation, we will fund this learning as it essential for the role. The role also requires enhanced DBS and police vetting.
This role involves regular travel and due to the location, a driving license and access to a vehicle is considered an essential requirement. Following a period of significant organisational development, Tinnitus UK is entering an exciting new phase. We are now seeking a part-time Chief Executive Officer to lead the next stage of our journey.
Reporting to the Chair of the Board of Trustees, the CEO will provide strategic leadership for the organisation, working closely with the Board, staff team, volunteers, funders and partners to deliver our mission and maximise our impact. You will lead a committed and talented team, ensuring Tinnitus UK remains financially sustainable, influential across the hearing health sector, and responsive to the needs of people living with tinnitus.
This is an opportunity for an experienced and values-driven leader who combines strategic thinking with practical delivery. You will be comfortable leading a small but ambitious organisation, building partnerships, driving income growth, supporting innovation and representing Tinnitus UK externally with credibility and passion.
While this role is initially being recruited on a part time basis, we envisage a planned progression to a full-time position as the charity grows and subject to financial sustainability. We believe that visible and collaborative leadership is essential and therefore ask candidates to commit to spending at least two days per week in our Sheffield office, working alongside the team.
