- To work closely with the Head of Fundraising and Deputy Head of Fundraising to contribute to the development of strategy, budgets and plans across the department.

For a small but vital refugee charity, we are recruiting an Interim Head of Finance for 3 + months, starting ASAP. Reporting to the CEO, the main accountabilities will focus on providing insightful monthly management accounts and reporting to the Senior Leadership Team and Trustees / Board, and to ensure the correct allocation of expenditure to a high number of grant funds. This role will oversee the Finance Assistant and the day-to-day finance transactions, including expenses, payroll, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Main Duties:
- Produce regular management accounts and financial reporting

- Lead and review budgeting, reforecasting and cashflow management

About the role

About you
To succeed, you’ll need proven experience of developing and maintaining relations with institutional donors, analysing their funding requirements and shifting worldviews (particularly DFID/FCDO, EU/ECHO), and working with, managing, and developing relationships with consortium partners. You’ll also need field experience of working in different cultures and religious contexts. Proactive and creative in improving existing processes and developing new ones to improve efficiency and effectiveness, you’re adept at knowledge management within a demanding team environment and used to line managing and training, mentoring or capacity building a team.
You’re an excellent project manager too - someone who’s comfortable working on complex multiple tasks and prioritising to meet deadlines. Expertise in a specific technical area - e.g., child protection, health, nutrition, livelihoods, social accountability, resilience or economic development, would also be useful, as would working knowledge of a second language. More important however, is a general awareness of Christian teaching to appreciate the Christian ethos of WVUK and live their values. My client is a world-leading arts not-for-profit organisation that works to push the boundaries of the arts and work tirelessly to produce new shows. As part of the organisation’s ongoing growth plans, they are currently in the process of improving the commercial arm of their business and explore new avenues for revenue. This has led to a need to recruit a senior finance business partner in support of this ambitious plan. As the senior finance business partner you will work closely with the wider team as well as moulding the department and building relationships with senior stakeholders.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders and work in partnership with other teams providing data and analysis relevant to the business strategy.
- Use data from various data sources to understand historic trends and use this information to create financial models and presentations to inform budget decisions.
- Create income and cost Key Performance Indicators and research other organisations to measure performance.
- Provide timely and accurate monthly management accounts including income and expenditure, balance sheet reconciliations and Key Performance Indicators.
- Prepare budgets according to timelines in discussion with the team and Chief Financial Officer.
- Prepare monthly rolling forecasts of income and expenditure, working closely with other members of the Team,
- Undertake monthly reviews with budget holders to review income and direct costs and feedback to key stakeholders where necessary.
- Take an active role in aiding senior managers and team members understanding of their financial responsibilities.
- Working with the Financial Accounts Team, ensure complete and accurate transaction processing.
The successful candidate will be a fully qualified accountant with a desire to drive change in an organisation, influencing senior stakeholders at multiple levels. Additional skills include highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to liaise and work across different teams.

As a Supporter Development Manager, you’ll have a crucial role in engaging and developing our existing supporter-base through a range of activity. Specialism: This role will primarily lead in our engagement and ongoing development of our regular giving programme. (This includes products like Poppy Supporter as well as other forms of regular donations.)
You will be contracted to our London Hub, Haig House. Under our Future Working framework, there will be some flexibility for working remotely/at home, using our collaboration tools to work with but with a minimum expectation of two days/week connecting directly face-to-face with colleagues at the hub.
