About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for an Advocate to join and shape this service covering Shetland Your role will require you to travel to locations such as clients’ homes, hospitals, care homes and within community settings across the area to meet with clients and professionals. You will be home based for administration; therefore, access to your own transportation and a suitable home internet connection is essential. 

About you

Desirably you will have some experience of working in advocacy, or providing welfare, supporting, or caring for Adults who have support needs, ideally for those with a variety of communication needs, mental ill health, physical health issues, or barriers to accessing support.

You should have worked or volunteered in health, social care, welfare, support services, education or young person’s services, or advice and guidance.

You will be responsible for ensuring the individual’s wishes, feelings, beliefs, needs, and values are met to create positive outcomes for the people you support.

You will support people to speak up for themselves and grow in confidence, equip them to understand and exercise their rights and options, and will assist them in the decision-making process relating to their care, treatment, and support.

You will work resourcefully and collaboratively with the individuals you support.  You’ll be creative in your approach to empower our clients by ensuring you meaningfully explain people’s options and rights to them under Scottish legislation.  You’ll support individuals to fully participate in decisions affecting them and will make sure they have their voices heard.

How are staff supported to work remotely? 

VoiceAbility has a small number of offices. Employees including Team Leaders are homebased for Administration and meetings will be held online as well as in person in the relevant community. 

When you need to travel for work, expenses will be paid (mileage or public transport costs).  

VoiceAbility offers the usual regular manager one to ones, Staff forums and communities of practice depending on role. Team meetings with a mix of virtual and in person approach.

We are seeking a Night Senior Care Assistant (Supervisor) with experience in care homes, adult health, social care, or community settings. The Sporting Events Team at Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) is responsible for securing income from individuals taking on sporting challenges and effectively managing relationships to maximise income.

As Sporting Events Administrator, you will play a significant part in contributing to a high-performing fundraising team. You will work closely with the Sporting Event Managers (SEM) and Sporting Event Officers (SEO) to drive the continued growth of the charity’s sporting event fundraising income. You will also be required to show excellent organisation and relationship-building skills to support supporters.

Key Responsibilities:

· Provide excellent customer service to Sporting Event fundraisers, to acknowledge support and increase long-term loyalty.

· Fundraising data management includes adding new constituents to the fundraising database (Salesforce), ensuring details are accurately recorded and maintained and that supporters are appropriately thanked.

· Managing emails sent to sporting events inbox.

Events Support

· Support in the effective delivery of sporting fundraising events for ARUK.

· May include relationship management with suppliers and logistics companies.

· Attendance of weekend events where necessary.

Main duties:

• To register, record, input and maintain learner and qualification information as directed by the line manager.
• To promote the Alliances training and offer initial advice and guidance to learners and employers.
• Support the pre-enrolment processes such as arranging initial assessment, completing learner eligibility checks and funding documentation collection
• To support the administration of the Alliance’s learner and employer initiatives including customer satisfaction surveying and undertaking operational needs analyses.
• To support the Training Centre administration with processing salary claims, expenses and student loan processes
• To support tutor and assessor recruitment as required 

 

 Essential criteria:

• Evidence of computer literacy - experience of using Microsoft Office 365, spreadsheets and CRM databases.
• Fast and accurate data entry skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in order to liaise and provide information to a wide range of people internally and to external partners. To produce written documentation to a high standard. 
• Ability to work to deadlines, sometimes under pressure.
• Good organisational skills and a methodical approach to tasks.
• Demonstratable experience of working in a busy office. 

This role a hybrid working arrangement where you will be required to work from our office 2 days a week and the other 3 days working from home.

Role outline and purpose

The Development Manager – Trusts & Foundations is responsible for delivering new relationships with a wide spectrum of Trusts and Foundations to grow our portfolio of high value funding partners. Responsible for developing compelling propositions and applications that drive transformational funding for our strategic programmes of work, maximising income generation, though prospecting, cultivating and securing funding to deliver against our strategic objectives and ambitious income targets.

This role is part of the Together with Trussell programme, the goal of which is to build stronger connections with our supporters, partners and donors in order to increase funding, campaigning, and other forms of support for our work. As a member of an enabling programme, this role is focused on the successful delivery of the Together with Trussell programme outcomes, which underpin and enable the outcomes of our 5 external programmes - together contributing to the fulfilment of our long term vision of a UK without the need for food banks.

Role responsibilities

· Work with the Programme Funding team to deliver our income generation strategy, meeting income targets based on long term financial forecasts, by proactively developing new opportunities, propositions and relationships with a wide variety of Trusts and Foundations – including corporate foundations, family trusts and institutional trusts.

· Proactively identify, develop and nurture relationships with potential funders to maximise fundraising potential.

· Work alongside the High Value Partnerships team to ensure new funders are onboarded and handed over to account management and supporting with compelling propositions to uplift and retain their support.

· Provide line management support to the Development Officer – Trusts.

· Collaborate with our marketing and content teams to ensure we can communicate the impact of our high value supporters on our mission.

Person Specification

Technical skills and minimum knowledge:

· High value fundraising experience, preferably including raising funds from Trusts and Foundations, delivering strategic partnerships, or applicable commercial background.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to analyse data and budgets and use CRM software.

· Ability to establish credibility quickly with a range of stakeholders, with the influencing and clear communication skills.

· Able to manage multiple projects and relationships, communicate priorities and identify and resolve conflict.

This is an exciting role leading our committed policy team leading the fight to end child poverty in the UK. The development and implementation of a UK-wide cross-government child poverty strategy means this is a great time to join CPAG as we look to influence policy makers to adopt our evidence-based policy solutions to child poverty.

We are looking for someone to take a lead role in developing evidence-based policy positions to support CPAG’s influencing and campaigns work. You will have knowledge of political processes and how external organisations can effect change. You will have a track record of producing high quality research and analysis, including policy briefings, on social policy issues. You will have experience of managing a small team and working collaboratively to identify policy issues and develop solutions with colleagues across the organisation, as well as externally.

The postholder will be working in a fast moving, high profile and complex policy environment and will need to balance short term priorities with long term objectives. Current priorities include influencing the implementation of the forthcoming child poverty strategy, gathering and sharing analysis and expertise with the DWP as part of their review of universal credit, and monitoring the development of forthcoming changes to disability benefits.
