Job purpose
The Place-based Food Systems Manager will play a leading role in the development of The Food Foundation’s local policy and project work in 3 interconnected ways:

1.  Stimulating and supporting leadership in regions, cities, local authority areas and anchor institutions to take action to improve local access to affordable, healthy and sustainable food
2. Identifying the policy and food business levers which enable the emergence of more resilient local food systems which improve access to affordable, healthy and sustainable food in local communities
3. Advocating for national and local policy changes which enable local leadership and new food systems to become more rapidly established.

In the first instance, you will play a leading role in our place-based work in Kent and Birmingham, in particular focused on improving the health and sustainability of menus and business offerings through the promotion of beans, pulses and legumes. You will work closely with Birmingham City Council and The University of Kent, as well as local leaders, partners,
local authorities, policymakers and businesses. You will work closely with academic partners on UKRI funded research projects that support place-based interventions and local authorities in creating healthier more sustainable local food systems.

The successful candidate will also play a key role in our nationally focused policy and advocacy on healthy and sustainable diets, supporting a team working on public sector procurement, production (horticulture) and other food policy areas that intersect health, sustainability and climate. This will involve engagement with relevant DEFRA teams, as well as other NGOs
working in the sustainable diet space.

The role will work across both the Policy and Food Business Transformation teams at The Food Foundation, as well as on the health and sustainability policy asks across the organisation. The unique placement of the role, working on place based initiatives as well as with national policy and businesses, will help to bridge the gap and identify areas of synergy between national and local policy, and between national and local policymakers, as well as the role and opportunity
for food businesses in this area.This is a new role in an exciting new team at the Food Foundation, with scope to work with us in shaping the role’s priorities in the coming months.

In this role, you will:

·Lead on operational systems (HR, recruitment, volunteer processes, policies).

·Manage finance administration, including donations, CRM (Beacon), and Gift Aid claims.

·Project manage BeSpace events and provide admin support to the team.

·Develop and maintain systems for impact tracking, GDPR compliance, and volunteer management.

·Provide communications and social media support.

·Where needed, support on-the-ground delivery of retreats and prayer and reflection spaces in schools.

This role would suit someone with strong organisational and administrative skills, a passion for children’s spiritual development, and a willingness to get stuck into a wide variety of tasks.

Role Details

• Position: Operations Coordinator
• Location: Remote. Travel required for in person team days 3 - 6 times a year and some travel across Oxfordshire.

Title: Human Resources Lead.

Reports to: Head of Operations.

Employer: Norfolk Rivers Trust (NRT).

Location: Office at Bayfield near Holt with opportunity for flexible working. However, it is important that the role holder is able to build culture and employee experience and be demonstrably participative in office life and organisational culture development. Visits across Norfolk and surrounding catchments with mileage expenses £0.45 per mile.

Job term:  This is a permanent 0.6 FTE position. The appointment is subject to a six-month probationary period.

Hours of work: 22.5 hours over a minimum of three days between Monday and Friday. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required, for which time off in lieu can be taken. No overtime will be paid.

About the HR Lead role

As Norfolk Rivers Trust’s first dedicated HR professional, the HR Lead will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing effective people practices that align with the organisation’s culture, values, and strategic objectives. Collaborating closely with the Senior Management Team and Line Managers, the HR Lead will offer expert guidance and operational support across the entire employee lifecycle.

This standalone, hands-on position requires a proactive self-starter who is confident in establishing new processes and adaptable to the needs of a small but growing organisation. The role is diverse and dynamic, ranging from advising managers on complex employee matters, enhancing recruitment practices, updating policies, to leading wellbeing initiatives.

Above all, the HR Lead will be instrumental in nurturing the Trust’s positive, values-driven culture, making it an exceptional place to work. Key duties and responsibilities

Performance and Development

• Coordinate the performance review process (including appraisal, probation and the annual staff survey), providing support to managers to ensure a consistent approach.

Systems and Payroll

· Implement and maintain a HR management system.

• Liaise with the Finance team to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, including salary changes, benefits and statutory deductions to administer payroll and payroll records.

 HR Data and Reporting

• Produce HR data and reports (e.g. staff turnover, absence, diversity data) to feed into the management team and use data to make recommendations regarding future practice.

• Use HR data to identify trends and make recommendations for improving people management practices. 

Strategic HR Support

• Participate in the implementation of specific projects, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the organisation (e.g. workforce planning, reward, and staff engagement). 

• Promote and drive delivery of the Trust’s equity, diversity, and inclusion priorities, through advice monitoring and collaboration. 

• Work with Senior Management Team to contribute to and drive HR strategy development and implementation, including reward strategy, recruitment and selection strategies, talent and succession planning, alignment between HR strategy and business goals, supporting change management processes.

Health, Safety and Wellbeing

• Collaborate with designated health and safety leads to develop and implement systems and procedures to create a safe working environment, drawing on specialist advice as appropriate.

The Development Officer will be responsible for delivering Family Forums within HMP Lindholme and HMP Moorland, supporting the Development Manager with Professionals Forums and training, and engaging with families and partner agencies in the community. Since becoming a charity focused solely on campaigning in 2019, Age UK London has adopted and implemented a new strategy. We have agreed campaign priorities; successfully changed policy at a London-wide and borough level; and adapted our finance, HR and IT systems to better support a campaigning charity.

The Board is looking for a new CEO to lead the charity through the next phase of its development, creating a new strategy to guide its campaigning work making London a better city for older people and to develop a sustainable income stream.

Reports to: the Board

You’ll also provide project management support to our national priority programmes, which are ambitious multi year programmes that draw together teams of clinicians and members of the Parkinson’s community from across the UK.

• Facilitate health and care service redesign and improvement projects in collaboration with clinicians, Parkinson’s UK staff and people living with Parkinson’s and drawing on the principles of co-production

• Build relationships to influence service improvement across the South of England, and support the development of a vibrant national network

• Maximise participation in the UK Parkinson's Audit and relevant surveys

• Support health & care services to develop and implement service improvement plans, using the results of the UK Parkinson's Audit as a lever

• Promote the Excellence network funding opportunities, providing support where appropriate with the development of business cases and grant applications

What you’ll bring

• Experience and expertise in service redesign and effecting change within health and/or social care in the South of England

• Knowledge of health and care structures and commissioning across the South of England

• Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to build and manage successful relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior clinicians

• Ability to negotiate and influence, with strong report writing and presentation skills 

• Experience in the use of quality improvement and project management tools

We are seeking an experienced fundraiser who can work with us on a part time, freelance basis (Sept/Oct 2025 - January 2026) for a fee of £16Kto produce and undertake the following specialist services:

• Research and produce a bespoke 18-month Fundraising Plan for the Trust, with a particular focus on Museums, collections, community engagement, conservation and organisational resilience. 
• To start the delivery of the plan by undertaking specialist fundraising activities to trusts and foundations and to apply for opportunities that will help generate new incomes for the Trust and boost our ability to delivery our Business plan and Museum Developments. This will include a refreshed donations plan for our sites to come into action before Christmas.
• To advise and produce a business case for a long-term fundraising resource for the Trust.

Mental Health Support Teams are part of a national strategy implemented by the government in 2018. In Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire, the MHSTs are run as a partnership between OTR and NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (AWP CAMHS). Team Coordinators will assist MHST Team Managers and Clinical Leads in the operational management of Mental Health Support Teams by providing high quality support to staff members and supporting initiatives to develop our workforce. 

Applicants will need relevant education in line with the requirements of the role, experience working with young people and the adults in their lives, and demonstrable management skills with the ability to lead a diverse team with a range of needs and skills.

About this key role
As our Support Worker, you will support the promotion of the project, both internally and externally, and the achievement of project targets for engagement and progression onto training, employment and other outcomes for the Young Adults with Complex Emotional Needs (YACEN).  You will maintain accurate and timely client records and evidence of all achieved outcomes according to programme requirements and as required by the funders, while also building excellent relationships with local authorities, voluntary organisations, mental health services, schools/colleges and other services across Bedfordshire.

We will rely on you to develop contacts and liaise with external agencies to develop positive working relationships, enabling effective referrals of participants and developing progression opportunities, plus deliver Transition Life Skills sessions to a cohort of young people.  Actively promoting gender equality and involving the people we serve, and looking to address some of the unique issues faced by minority groups, including ensuring accessible resources in multiple formats (e.g. easy read, different languages) and working with specialist community groups are also key duties.

• The ability to engage and holistically support young adults who face multiple and complex barriers to employment, including complex emotional needs such as a diagnosed personality disorder
• In-depth knowledge and awareness of the issues faced by the client group in accessing and sustaining employment and methods that result in positive outcomes
