New Horizon Youth Centre runs a busy day centre from Monday to Friday, providing basic needs to young people experiencing homelessness and a one-stop-shop for housing advice, youth work activities, counselling, jobs, education and training support. The Services Manager (Day Centre) is a brand new role for the organisation. They will work as part of the existing Youth Work Team to provide vital additional capacity and expertise to respond to the significantly increased demand we have been experiencing. This role is primarily focused on delivering our frontline day centre service each week. You will spend around 2-3 days per week frontline as our Duty Manager ensuring the smooth running of the day centre. The Role

FareShare has a dynamic fundraising department that has seen incredible growth in support in an incredibly short space of time. We are now looking for a proven Supporter Retention Manager to join us as we embark on our next phase of deepening engagement with current and new supporters.

This newly created role is an integral part of the Fundraising team’s growth plans to become a £40 million income generating team.

Working closely with the Supporter Acquisition Manager, Supporter Experience Manager (Fundraising Operations) and the wider Fundraising team, the post-holder will lead on stewardship campaigns encompassing Warm Appeals, Regular Giving asks, Supporter newsletters and cross-sell campaigns across FareShare’s audiences. Main areas of responsibility

1.Plan and deliver the Warm Appeals programme in line with agreed budget targets and annual workplans

• Campaign manage the Cash Appeals programme at all stages, from initial planning through to supplier management and post-campaign analysis

2.Develop and manage a seamless supporter journey and consistency of messaging from the initial touchpoint through to longer-term giving

• Actively monitor Supporter attrition levels and implement measures to mitigate disengagement

The Role (30hrs per week)

· To provide day to day management and supervision of our remote Support Team, providing guidance and support to deliver appropriate information and advice for our mums and families.

· Provide casework support to Mummy’s Star families.

Job Purpose & Responsibilities

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the post holder will manage the Support Team at Mummy’s Star. More specifically you will be responsible for:

Support Team Management (50%)

• Provide quality support, leadership, development and line management

· The post holder may be required to undertake any other duties that fall within the nature of the role and responsibilities of the post as required to support the charity and beneficiaries.

THE ROLE
The Contracts Manager will join our Operations team to represent the Woodland Trust locally, supporting a diverse portfolio of sites within North England, in line with the Trust’s standards and ensuring the safety of our colleagues, visitors, contractors and volunteers. It shall be the Contracts Manager’s responsibility to support Site Managers’ in the preparation and delivery of grant applications, operational contracts and projects including silvicultural operations. 

The Contracts Manager will initiate, develop and project manage new innovative projects within and across the woodlands, working with external partner and a cross-departmental team of foresters, people engagement specialists, communications specialists and funders.

They will identify opportunities to streamline services, develop our contractor base and maximise the income and grant aid potential of work programmes. They are responsible for ensuring that all necessary agreements, mitigations and consents are in place in preparation for the delivery of contracts and in accordance with all Woodland Trust Health and Safety policies and procedures.

A company car will be provided with this role.

THE CANDIDATE
With previous experience in land-based management in the forestry, woodland management, or nature conservation sector, you’ll have experience in writing and reviewing site management plans, budget and contract management, and Health and Safety management. You’ll have experience in the writing and delivery grant schemes across woodland creation and for specifying, instructing, and supervising woodland management operations. You’ll be experienced in planning, monitoring, and delivering multi-disciplinary projects to time and to budget and in engaging with contractors and suppliers on pricing, implementation, and delivery.

You must have a proactive ‘can-do’ attitude, excellent communication skills, be commercially aware and able to build effective partnerships internally and externally.  You’ll have experience engaging with external stakeholders, communities and volunteers with a collaborative approach. A working knowledge of the operational, ie Forest Works Management of woodlands would be desirable.

A full driving licence is a must have, along with the ability to undertake travel across a wide area, sometimes to remote locations.  Occasional overnight stays will be required and you will be expected to live in the region and within easy reach of key sites in North England.

Role Information

The Finance Manager is a key strategic role within the organization and will be part of the Senior Leadership Team.  The post holder will work at a strategic level and attend and be answerable to the Board of Trustees in the areas of Finance, Compliance and Risk and undertake the position of GDPR lead on behalf of the organization working within the wider Senior Leadership Team that includes a CEO, Business Development Manager, Training and Development Manager and Operations Manager.

As Family Gateway enters into year 2 of its 3-year strategic plan, this is an exciting time in which the Board of Trustees, Senior Leadership team, staff and volunteers will shape the future of service delivery for the community that it serves in Howdon and Wallsend and as it reaches beyond and across the North East with its Barefoot Professional Model of service delivery with steady growth in mind.  The post holder therefore will be required to have a good understanding of the political and funding landscape and be able to form good stakeholder relationships.

The post holder will manage a small core staff team and will oversee the day-to-day financial operations within the company, including Payroll, Debtors, Creditors, and Banking. The post holder will be responsible for Budgets, Management Accounts, Taxation, and all income streams including Grant Funding. In addition, the postholder will ensure all statutory and regulatory requirements are met, Companies House and the Charity Commission. The post holder will also be the key contact for auditing, and other financial needs as necessary and will track the company’s financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement. 

The post holder will also seek out methods for minimizing financial risk to the company and research and analyze financial reports and market trends.  The post holder will also be responsible for the management of Family Gateways assets, IT and quality assurance systems and will ensure Family Gateway is complaint in all areas of risk, governance and business.

Key Accountabilities:

• To be responsible for the oversight of all Financial Services including risk management systems and processes within Family Gateway reporting directly to the CEO.

• The post holder will stay up to date with technological advances and accounting software to be used for financial purposes and oversee all IT and data functions within the organization

• Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the company

• Understand and adhere to Statutory and Regulatory financial regulations and legislation, including Companies House and The Charity Commissioners.

• To oversee the day-to-day management of the organizational risk register ensuring it is up to date and prepared for sub committee

• To write and/or contribute to the writing of tenders and grant applications and where appropriate collate information to aid the reporting requirements of funders

• To manage a small core function team as directed by the CEO providing regular supervision, performance management and annual appraisals.

• Be responsible for the maintenance and management of the Contracts Database ensuring all information is uploaded or removed as appropriate and that regular monitoring of this information provides information to the CEO and other managers in order to inform sound project management delivering projects to scale, to time and within budget

• To work in partnership with operations staff and The Senior Leadership Team (SLT) supporting the maintenance of an effective IT and CRM system which in turn will measure project data and produce KPI’s.

• Liaise with IT provider to ensure Cyber Security integrity measures are in place and working effectively. Control and Monitor IT access via Role Permissions and Passwords.

• To Control and Monitor as the GDPR Lead for the organization, keeping up to date with ICO registration and guidance and overseeing a robust Data Breach Register, ensuring all staff are trained annually in line with company policy

• Produce accurate and timely financial management information on a monthly basis to support decision-making and to present information to the Board of Trustees, attending Board meetings as required

• Establish and maintain appropriate, robust and secure financial recording processes for purchasing and payment of items and management of petty cash, including Cash Floats, Fixed Asset Register, Banking, and Taxation including VAT.

• To produce and prepare annual budgets and cost scenarios for the Board of Trustees, CEO and SLT and to host monthly finance reviews with SLT

• To ensure timely payroll data is prepared, checked and processed prior to submission to third party provider and thereafter import to Finance system via journal entry. To oversee appropriate pension and insurance provision is in place on behalf of the company and that legal compliance is followed.

• Prepare ad hoc financial and activity information to support new project development plans as required

• To engage fully in management meetings, supervision and appraisals

• Demonstrate professionalism, tenacity and empathy in their work

• To undertake any reasonable task as requested in line with the senior nature of this role

• Adhere to and work demonstrating Family Gateway values and support development of the Barefoot Professional Model.

Have you got strategic experience in fundraising, preferably for a charity. We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our team, hitting the ground running.

You will be required to try to fill the defecit each year between income and expenditure, raising 

community engagement, grants and bid writing, Wills and Legacies and gaining regular donors, while overseeing a programme of events with an assistant for support?

Fundraising Manager

£38,000 – £41,000 FTE dependent on experience. Reporting to the CEO. Four days, based at Jecca’s House, Chipping Campden.

Responsibilites:

Fundraising – General 

• To deliver a continuous fundraising operation to meet the short, medium and long-term revenue needs of the charity as determined by the CEO and Board of Trustees 
• Establish and maintain positive relationships across the organisation and an in-depth understanding of the charity’s needs and priorities to ensure your fundraising activity contributes positively 
• Development and maintenance of key resources to support our fundraising activity, including case for support, programme schedule and budgets 
• To develop corporate sponsorship proposals and be prepared to respond promptly to funding offers and opportunities 
• To steward regular donors, ensure they receive appropriate thanks and are kept informed
• Develop strategy to increase number of regular donors through the implementation of a regular giving programme 
• Grow and manage the regular donors’ scheme, Payroll Giving, In-Memory giving, and appeals, contributing to the overall fundraising strategy. 
• Champion the use of data and insight to drive regular giving, utilising database (Beacon) for effective prospect and donor management 
• Monitor, evaluate, and forecast campaign performance, ensuring targets are met and providing reports as required 
• Spotting fundraising opportunities and raising awareness of the CHNs work 

Fundraising – Trusts & Foundations 

• Researching fundraising opportunities which are likely to fund the work of CHN, writing compelling grant applications and building and managing a new business pipeline to deliver year-on-year growth in Trust and Foundations Fundraising income 
• Cultivate relationships with prospects and identify appropriate projects or areas of CHN’s work to meet their criteria, developing tailored, persuasive funding proposals 
• Deliver first-class grant management – taking responsibility for all requirements of funders including impact reporting, financial monitoring and reporting 
• Ensure robust and practical monitoring and evaluation plans are in place to demonstrate the impact of grants you manage and report effectively to funders 

Relationship Management 

• Provide excellent stewardship and supporter care to regular donors 
• Produce and deliver tailored engagement plans to deepen and grow CHN donor relationships
• Build and maintain strong internal relationships across the charity to ensure the delivery of CHN’s obligations to our funders

Person Specification: 

• Proven track record in developing and implementing successful fundraising strategies and campaigns, ideally with at least 3 years experience in the charity sector or demonstrate they have transferrable skills to move into the charity sector.

£22,500 to £26,000 (FTE dependent on experience). Responsible to the Fundraising Manager and Marcomms Manager. Two days per week (worked over three days if preferable. Based at Jecca’s House

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the creation, planning, setting up and working at fundraising and community awareness events 
• Face to face community work in the form of hosting coffee mornings and fundraising/engagement events 
• Face to face collection of raffle prizes etc within our communities 
• Poster erection and flyer distribution 
• Recording data from events 
• Work closely with both managers in the MARCOMMS team 

MARCOMMS/Fundraising – General 

• To help the Fundraising Manager deliver a continuous fundraising operation to meet the short, medium and long-term revenue needs of the charity as determined by the CEO and Board of Trustees

Person Specification 

• You will be highly organised, used to working in a fast-paced and autonomous environment and need to be able to plan ahead. 
• You will be proactive, flexible, creative, resilient and able to plan ahead.
• Flexibility is key as this role will require evening and weekend work, time will be given in lieu for hours worked in this situation 
• Computer literate as there will be database and design tools such as Canva to use 
• A team player as you will work with the Fundraising Manager and Communications Manager. Prioritisation is second nature.
• You will be confident using social media, and objective and flexible in the way you use the tools and platforms available. 
• Experience using CRMs is desirable but not essential. 
• This role can be physical – the successful candidate will be involved in setting up and closing of events which may entail some heavy moving and carrying.
