THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced Membership and Marketing Manager to join our small but busy Digital team on a fixed term contract for up to 12 months. Reporting to the Director of Engagement and Communications, you will be responsible for the membership and marketing function within the RCSLT to support and engage with our members at all stages of their careers. This is a Maternity Cover post that sits within the Engagement and Communications Team where you will lead and promote our external facing products, campaigns and services. As Membership and Marketing Manager you will be responsible for managing the delivery of member engagement plans, ensure consistent communication with our members internally, plan and deliver activities to promote SLT as a career and support the overall engagement and communications strategy.

The ideal candidate will have marketing qualifications or extensive marketing experience, have strong knowledge of CRM systems (Salesforce is desired), excellent IT skills and knowledge of email marketing systems. The candidate will have exceptional interpersonal skills, be able to build relationships with audiences and communities and be a creative thinker to improve the overall member engagement and experience. The candidate must be highly organised, self-motivated with a positive approach to all situations and be confident in presenting to stakeholders. It would be beneficial if the candidate had previous experience building and executing marketing plans that support core business objectives.

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Income officer to join our Customer Accounts team at SNG.

This is a full time, permanent role. Based from our Greenham Hub, near Newbury, you'll combine home and office working alongside time out with our customers in the Andover and Wiltshire area.

We are offering a starting salary of £30,000 - £35,000, depending on your experience.

The role

As an Income Officer, you'll carry out a range of tasks including negotiating payment arrangements with customers, providing welfare benefit and money advice and preparing applications for court. You'll be on standby to visit customers in their home as well as occasionally attending court hearings.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering a comprehensive rent & service charge collection service across the region
• Monitoring customer accounts for all tenures
• Managing end to end processes
• Engaging with external agencies including local authorities when needed
• Managing evictions

To be successful in this role you'll need:

• Experience in income management or debt recovery/collection
• Knowledge and experience of either social housing, home ownership or the private rented sector
• Excellent customer service skills
• A working knowledge of welfare benefits
• To be a self-starter with a proactive approach and possess the ability to work without close supervision
• To have effective decision-making skills, a diplomatic and confidential approach and the ability to prioritise a busy workload

As you'll need to travel in this role, having a car and full driving licence is essential.

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an experienced professional to lead our Finance team to ensure the ongoing effective management of financial resources within the Hospice and its trading subsidiary.

As part of the senior management team, you will build strong internal relationships, provide management information to enable sound financial decisions, manage the budgeting and forecasting process and oversee a complex payroll.

Working with the Director of Finance and IT you will prepare the monthly management accounts, VAT returns, Gift Aid reclaims and the statutory accounts and will ensure that appropriate financial controls are in place and all legislative and statutory requirements are met.

You will be a qualified Accountant with a minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience; charity experience would be desirable. In addition, you will have strong demonstrable management skills gained in a similar complex environment.

An excellent working knowledge of payroll and VAT is essential, along with strong Microsoft Office skills.

Being Head of Fundraising at Heart of Kent Hospice

As Head of Fundraising, you’ll be heading up an incredible team of 6 dedicated fundraising staff who, along with the support of our volunteers, work tirelessly to support our Hospice. Their dedication to, and care for, our supporters generates over £1.8 million annually, which is vital for funding our care.

This role is a hands-on, doing role, responsible for the day-to-day running of the fundraising function at the Hospice. About the team

Kinship is in the third year of delivering the first national peer support service for kinship carers in England. We have created 145 peer support groups and supported and trained kinship carers to create and lead their groups in a way which meets their needs.

With a new contract from the Department for Education, we’re now entering a new phase of our service with a focus on:

• creating 90 new sustainable peer support groups in areas of most need over 21 months;
• sustaining and developing the current 145 existing groups; and
• providing support and help to build a sustainable and welcoming community for all peer support groups across England.

This role will mobilise, develop and innovate our existing offer into a new Peer Support Hub with the focus on supporting sustainability and building resilience of peer support groups and their leaders. You will support and build our Kinship peer support community.

You’ll work with group leaders to develop a central hub of accessible and useful resources to help them to sustain their groups, working with colleagues right across Kinship to promote consistent access to services and activities (training, programmes, information, advice and campaigns), building a joined-up user experience.

About the role

The role of the Peer Support Hub Lead is to oversee and take accountability for sustaining kinship peer support groups across England in priority areas as part of a new hub and spoke delivery model.

In this context, your team is the centralised ‘hub’ of the service, delivering an exciting programme of training, speakers, toolkits and resources to help peer support group leaders develop, build and sustain their group well.

Your national team of three will make sure groups feel connected and supported, learn from each other and build a powerful and resilient peer community.

Dynamic and people-centred, this role is about developing a supportive community of peer support groups nationally. You’ll understand the power of relationships and be an excellent communicator. Key responsibilities include:

• Ongoing innovation of the Hub service, embedding best practice, digital innovation and learning to develop a thriving peer community.

• Develop, deliver and take accountability including strategic oversight for an annual operational plan for the peer support hub.

• Work with Head of Marketing to develop an integrated promotional plan.

• Work with Head of Network Development to coordinate national partnerships.

Essential requirements include:

• Experience in delivering a high-profile national service or programme. This includes overseeing delivery, operational planning, monitoring, budgeting, managing delivery, meeting KPIs, stakeholder engagement and reporting to funders.

• Experience of effective budget management.

We are looking for a Director of Financial Accounts to be responsible for the Finance Accounting, Business Processes and Finance Systems teams of The Royal British Legion, ensuring adherence to all relevant laws and regulations and ensuring that an effective service is provided to Directors, Trustees, staff and volunteers.

The RBL is a leading UK charity with Income of c.£150m and a strong Balance sheet with investments and property holdings.

We are seeking a successful candidate who will:

• Lead the financial accounting team of the RBL group to ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements and tax.
• Lead the RBL’s transactional processing teams with focus on cash collection, treasury management, payroll and accounts payable.
• Lead the development of RBL’s Finance systems to drive productivity within Finance and the wider organisation.

As a Director of Financial Accounts you will also play a key role in:

• contributing to the three-year Strategic Plan with the emphasis on the financial framework and develop supporting strategies alongside an annual plan for the team
• overseeing medium term plans for delivery of the year end, audit and major projects with a typical timeframe of 6-12 months.
• maintaining a system of internal financial controls, policies, delegated authorities and procedures to safeguard Legion funds and ensure that funds are spent in line with charity law, applicable accounting standards and (where relevant) donor wishes
• overseeing the Business Processes function (including Payroll, Payables, Receivables and Cash & Banking), supporting the Head of Business Processes to devise and maintain appropriate processes and controls
• ensuring that business critical systems are appropriately supported and maintained, that risks are appropriately managed and that external suppliers deliver a good level of customer service.
• The breadth of the Royal British Legion’s activities and income streams mean that our accounts are highly complex and we are subject to a raft of external laws and regulation. You will be responsible for ensuring that we are compliant and have robust controls in place, whilst also giving advice that is pragmatic and recognises the challenges of front-line delivery.

Do you want to empower and support older people needing care and their families? Are you passionate about using your advice skills to improve people’s experience of care? Join our team!

You would provide information, advice and support to people across the UK, primarily the relatives and friends of older people needing care. You would help people to understand the care system, their rights and entitlements, and guide them through problems they are experiencing with care services.

We use an empowering model of advice, helping clients to identify what they want to achieve and how to go about it. We aim to give people the knowledge and confidence to take control of their own situation. We also provide additional support to those who need it (such as letter writing). 

You would be at the heart of Care Rights UK’s work, delivering our core advice and support service. You would be welcomed into our small, dedicated, friendly team. You would work alongside colleagues who are experts in their field, with dedicated time for co-learning and sharing knowledge and skills.

This is an exciting period of change for the charity, as we invest in growing our advice and support service. You would help us to diversify and increase our reach across the UK. You would work closely with our small team to ensure our advice and support service aligns with our campaign, policy and communication work, as the charity pushes for a better care system. 

The ideal candidate will be a positive, resilient, can-do person, with a passion for using their advice skills to champion the rights of people needing care.

We are looking for an additional support worker with lived experience of self-harm to join our existing team working with people who have attended A&E for self-harm treatment. This role has been developed specifically for people who have lived experience of self-harm. Self-harm can take many forms but for the purposes of this role we mean things which someone has done to themselves with the clear intention of causing harm.

This role is not about sharing personal stories of self-harm, but some exploration of your experiences will be part of the interview and training process. All questions will be provided in advance of the interview and training will be run in a small, closed group. Both the interviews and training will be facilitated by people who have used their self-harm experiences in their working lives.

Duties and responsibilities

1. Support the day to day running of the Lived Experience Service by:

• Offering tailored follow up support to people of all communities and genders who have attended A&E for self-harm treatment including face to face or video chat meetings, researching community support and guidance in finding and using self- help resources based on the principles of mutual experience, empathy and holistic support;
• Where appropriate sharing ideas about ways of achieving goals, drawing on personal experiences and assisting people to decide what they want to achieve based on their circumstances and personal resources;
• Administrative tasks including researching and updating service resources and maintaining accurate client records in line with organisational confidentiality, data protection and safeguarding policies.
• Supporting their own wellbeing by engaging in regular supervision and appropriate training

2. Contribute to the overall running of the organisation through:

• Attending team meetings
• Supporting the development and/or running of organisational resources, events and campaigns relevant to their role
• Having an awareness of the aims of the organisation and adhering to Safeguarding procedures at all times
