We’re searching for an experienced and enthusiastic HR professional to join our International Services team in the UK. As a Christian who truly cares about people, you’ll help us ensure that all IFES staff feel valued, get treated fairly, and remain healthy, fruitful, and resilient in their life and ministry.

Reporting to the Head of HR, you’ll play a key role in supporting the HR team to deliver effective day-to-day operations that provide top-quality HR services to IFES staff worldwide.

With mutual support, prayer and on-the-job training, you’ll have the opportunity to take your HR experience to the next level. You’ll be given a wide range of responsibilities, including recruitment, development and well-being of staff, while also fulfilling the role of Safeguarding Officer. And, since the position is still evolving, you can be instrumental in shaping it.

Key Responsibilities

Spear Programme

• Lead group sessions of up to 10 young people, using coaching skills to transform their mindsets, and to maximise their potential in stepping into the world of work
• Prepare and deliver coaching sessions on a weekly basis and find creative ways of developing ongoing relationships with Spear Trainees. This includes running application workshops with past Trainees as well as maintaining records and reporting on statistics.

Relationship management

• Build and manage relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including referrers, local businesses, and other organisations
• You will support with job fairs, mock interview days and welcoming external visitors to the centre

Church Community

• The Spear Coach is directly employed by Citizen Church, meaning you are part of a vibrant church staff team and submerged in an exciting faith community

Muslim Aid is a UK faith-based international development organisation that provides support to communities around the world affected by disasters, conflict, or endemic poverty without regard to their social, religious, or ethnic background.

Summary of the role:

The Community Fundraising Volunteers Coordinator is to drive and enhance fundraising efforts for Muslim Aid by planning, coordinating, and executing innovative fundraising events and campaigns across regional and national levels. This position involves deep engagement with the Muslim community and various stakeholders to maximise fundraising opportunities and achieve financial targets.

The post holder will ensure that all activities adhere to regulatory standards and organisational promises, effectively represent the organisation in public forums and live appeals, and manage productive relationships with external partners to optimise outcomes. Additionally, the post holder supports strategic campaign planning and evaluation, ensuring continuous improvement and compliance with legal frameworks. The incumbent is expected to be flexible, with readiness to travel and adapt to unsociable hours as needed to meet the demands of the role.

About the Role

1. Collaborate with the Fundraising team to optimise income through various community and innovative events, meeting agreed financial targets.
2. Possess a thorough understanding of the Muslim community and its key stakeholders.
3. Plan and manage fundraising and promotional events across the region, adapting successful strategies for national implementation. This includes participation in events at schools, businesses, mosques, and with community groups and the general public.
4. To coordinate volunteer involvement nationally, such as fundraising, administration and awareness raising.

This position will help us take the next big step up in how we engage with and serve our customers. Stewardship offers a broad range of services to the Christian community – Accounts Examination, Payroll Bureau, Charity Formation, Consultancy Helpline, Lending, a giving platform and Philanthropy Services. This role will work with the Head of Enterprise Applications and a project manager to implement the staged roll-out of Salesforce components. The Salvation Army are partnering with the University of Stirling via the Salvation Army Centre for Addiction Services and Research to deliver a trial for the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR). This unique and innovative social care trial will examine the effectiveness and cost effectiveness of a Peer Navigator/Peer Support Intervention for people experiencing homelessness and problems with substance use. We are now looking for a Peer Navigator (lived experience practitioner) within our Homelessness service to deliver a relationship-based intervention to those experiencing drug and alcohol problems and homelessness, providing both practical and emotional support.

You will also champion excellence in terms of ensuring our clients are central to our services and successful individual outcomes are achieved.

There is a requirement to work flexibly to meet the needs of participants/client, due to the nature of this particular role, including the outreach element. The usual pattern of work will be Monday-Friday with hours between 8am-6pm. However, some working outside these hours may be requested, depending on the needs of the people you will be supporting. The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate:

• Their own personal (not family related) experience of homelessness and/or problem alcohol/drug use.
• A passion for supporting vulnerable people, with strong previous experience of working successfully in a similar role, and good knowledge of drug and alcohol issues including harm reduction models.
• Genuine compassion and non-judgemental attitude for people in need with challenging lives.
• Knowledge of the main support needs of people experiencing homelessness and other forms of vulnerability, including problem substance use and challenges with the welfare benefit system.

This role will support the delivery of our ambitious policy influencing programme, helping to implement influencing plans to bring about the changes needed to reduce, prevent and eventually end the need for food banks in the UK. Role responsibilities

· Planning and delivering impactful public affairs activity: Supporting the development and delivery of public affairs plans for key projects, including high profile policy influencing campaigns, and planning and delivering engaging events in Parliament and at party conferences.

· Build support for the Trussell Trust’s policy influencing goals among UK parliamentarians and policy influencers who are part of Christian communities: Working closely with the Church Engagement team to identify opportunities to engage key audiences and effectively communicate our policy asks and strategic goal to end the need for food banks.

· Supporting a strategic approach to public affairs activity: Making effective use of public affairs systems and processes, including stakeholder mapping and horizon scanning for opportunities to engage, mobilise and work with key audiences, including UK Parliamentarians, UK Government Ministers and advisers, and assessing their impact.

· Building and managing strong relationships with key external stakeholders: Developing relationships, partnerships and networks to help raise the profile, credibility and influence of the Trussell Trust and our policy positions, particularly in the UK Parliament and with faith-based organisations.

· Working closely across the wider organisation to support our policy influencing aims: Supporting key stakeholders across the Trussell Trust to plan, deliver and participate in the Trussell Trust’s policy influencing work, including senior leaders, people with lived experience of poverty and food bank staff and volunteers.

· Building awareness of our public affairs activity and impact across the Trussell Trust: Providing accessible and engaging updates and insights from the UK Parliament and Government relating to key policy areas and helping ensure alignment with public affairs activity across the UK’s nations and regions.

Person Specification

Technical skills and minimum knowledge:

· Experience of working or volunteering in a political, public affairs or policy environment

· Knowledge of the machinery and structure of government and the UK Parliament including knowledge of faith-based structures and groupings within Parliament

· Experience of successfully delivering impactful public affairs or campaigns activity to engage UK Parliamentarians including those who are part of Christian communities

· An effective and confident communicator (written and verbal) with strong stakeholder relationship management skills 

· Experience of delivering events and projects, using project management processes to meet agreed objectives and deadlines

· Self-sufficient use of I.T., including proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and cloud-based software, such as Salesforce.

Youth Worker (School Transition)

 35 hours per week, £25,586.87 per annum (including London weighting), pro-rata

Fixed term to 30/6/25

We are looking for a Youth Worker to build trusting and collaborative relationships with vulnerable service users aged 10-12 years who are transitioning from years 5 and 6 into secondary school, to identify and address any potential risk factors that may impact on a young person’s transition. 

The successful individual will provide support to build the young person’s skills, confidence and resilience during this critical period to ensure they can engage positively at their new secondary school. This will include the delivery of targeted programmes, activities and 1:1 interventions that address the specific challenges faced by young people including, bullying, social isolation, special needs, academic pressures or mental health issues.  The support will be delivered to young people in person within a variety of settings including Faith based groups, schools and youth centers. This post will also work closely with the violence Reduction Unit (VRU) Peer Champion project.

We are looking for someone who has previous experience of youth work, including with young people with learning disabilities and challenging behaviours. The successful individual will have experience of delivering workshops and dealing with safeguarding issues. You will be a self-starter with the ability to confidently engage with schools and partners as well as to build rapport with young people and engaging them in activities leading to empowerment and raising aspirations.

The salary for 35 hours per week is £25,586.87 per annum
