Successful candidates for the Member Response Team Leader will be able to demonstrate:

The main duties of the Member Response Team Leader role include:

• Managing a team of Member Response Team Administrators
• Day-to-day operations of the team
• Ensuring workflows are managed efficiently and service level agreements are consistently met

With an ability to foster a positive and collaborative working environment both remotely and in person, the Member Response Team Leader will be expected to provide clear direction, conduct appraisals, and support the professional development of their team. Strong leadership skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to motivate and engage staff are essential.

The role of Member Response Team Leader offers hybrid working with flexibility to work from home outside of peak periods. Due to key operational and democratic activities, the Member Response Team Leader will be required to attend the office daily from February to April each year and additional periods throughout the year. Outside of this period, hybrid flexibility will apply in line with team needs and organisational policy.

To assist in maximising the potential for union growth, development and success through managing, co-ordinating and supporting the work of the Member Response Team, in line with PCS policy and our ethos as an organising union.

Main duties and responsibilities

1. People Management

• Day-to-day management of staff and workflow
• Manage work allocation, future planning and support for team/line manager
• Through the appraisal system, identify training and development needs, train or organise training for staff
• Undertake induction programmes, 1 to 1s and appraisals with staff as appropriate
• Apply the staff conduct policies e.g. discipline, grievance, capability, dignity at work and IT security policies as and when required
• Check work standards and maintain consistent quality of delegated tasks
• Proactively promote diversity including equality in line with the wider PCS approach
• Continuously improve effectiveness and efficiency of the administrative team
• Ensure health, safety and welfare of team members

2. Systems Management

• Develop and make best use of relevant systems e.g. office, IT, finance, etc.
• Attend relevant training and ensure staff are appropriately trained on system changes and developments
• Regularly reviewing existing systems, and ensure consistency and organisational best practice is followed
• Equality-proof and check that the design and operation of any new systems are in line with wider PCS policy, e.g. health and safety, and IT security policies, and make recommendations to senior officers as appropriate where new systems are designed that could be applicable to the wider union
• Implement an ongoing development and monitoring process for systems including managing resources, gathering, monitoring, collating and reconciling information, checking allocations, preparing reports, highlighting budget over and under spends
• Set up statistical systems to produce reports and analyse information i.e. membership reports, personal cases management system, equality statistics
• Organise and allocate work, deal with queries and correspondence, research information, produce briefs, documents and responses
• Ensure the membership system e.g. Salesforce is used to maintain up-to-date data
• Contract management work including scoping suppliers, drawing up tendering documents and recommendations, provide reports to bodies and committees

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and energetic supervisor or team leader to take up a full-time role within our organisation as a Operations Supervisor to be part of our small and dedicated team. The role will be based in Southwark as well as potential for wider London working as you will be part several innovative housing projects in London supporting vulnerable households to sustain their tenancies. As well as a team line manager, you will be maintaining and developing partnership with the Council’s housing officers, solicitors, landlords, community services, social prescribers, and mental health support workers to ensure tailored support can be offered for each client. The objectives of these programmes are to avoid evictions, sustain tenancies, increase employment opportunities, improve wellbeing, and increase educational outcomes. You will be working in partnership with other stakeholders such as schools and local authorities to improve family health, build relationships and engage families and individuals and their networks of support.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in staff management and project leadership, knowledge of housing polices, and with proven experience working with individuals who have complex needs.

We are seeking a dedicated and organised Wellbeing Worker to become a vital part of our Hospital to Home Team. We provide a highly valued service to unpaid family and friend carers where they or the person they care for are a patient in hospital. The team work across 5 Acute and 7 community hospitals serving the residents of West Sussex. 

You will focus on and play a vital role in our Support at Home after Hospital (SaHaH) service, providing time-limited, information, emotional support and access to practical assistance to eligible carers following discharge, helping them feel confident and connected during the move home.

Alongside SaHaH, you’ll spend a limited portion of your week offering guidance to carers during their hospital journey—primarily via phone—working collaboratively with NHS staff and partner organisations to ensure carers are included and informed. 

You will have excellent problem-solving skills, be able to take a proactive approach to overcoming obstacles and ensuring support for individuals navigating complex systems. You will be a natural communicator with excellent administrative skills and a strong attention to detail.

Key Role Summary 

Carer Support at Home after Hospital: Following hospital discharge, provide support to carers for up to six weeks. Identify priorities and help to put in place services and support to assist the transition home.

Carer Support in Hospital: Regularly provide telephone support to a small number of carers where they, or the person they care for, is a patient in hospital.

Information & Guidance: Help carers navigate health and social care systems, connect with teams and other services to access appropriate support.

Neighbourhood Housing Project Lead (Sheffield and Scunthorpe)

Building Tomorrow – Neighbourhood Housing Project Lead

Oasis exists to build stronger communities where there is no one left out. Building Tomorrow is an innovative new neighbourhood housing programme that Oasis is developing in Sheffield and Scunthorpe.

We are pioneering a new community-led solution to housing challenges in two communities where Oasis already works, running five schools and two community Hubs. We are working to develop quality housing that offers opportunity for families to find a stable and supportive place of belonging in community.

The programme will combine quality housing, excellent education (provided through Oasis academies), and community wrap-around support (delivered through our existing youth and community teams). This programme is designed to offer a preventative approach to housing challenges, acting as a proof of concept that can be replicated in other communities around the country. 

This role will act as the central point of coordination which will ensure Building Tomorrow moves successfully from initiation to full activation over the initial 18-month period. In the activation period, we will purchase and refurbish the 20 properties, and this role will work in close coordination with our property consultants. As properties are purchased, we will begin to move into the delivery phase, where we start to house families.

What will you do?

The key areas of responsibility for the role are as follows:

· To act as the main link between all stakeholders: the Oasis teams including academies; contractors; and any community partners. To make sure everyone is communicating effectively and working toward the same goal.

· To work in close collaboration with Oasis Community Leaders in Sheffield and Scunthorpe. To support the Community Leaders and wider community teams to welcome families by acting as a key part of the community support offer through the 18-month activation phase.

· To own the 18-month master plan. This will involve tracking progress, analysing potential delays, and proactively solving problems so the activation stays on time and on budget.

· To focus on transitioning the housing element from a period of acquisition and refurbishment into functioning homes. This includes everything from smooth resident move-ins to ensuring the community support is fully accessible.

· To work alongside colleagues in the Operations Group to design operational processes including the community support offer, housing management systems, and tenancy arrangements. 

· To help the team set clear, achievable goals for the activation period and then track whether those goals are being met, providing regular, honest updates to all stakeholders.

· To support the Group CEO in liaising with our social investor.

We are looking for a Community Fundraising Manager who will focus on leadership and net income growth of the Community Fundraising (CFR) team, who are based across the UK. The post holder will lead and manage the three regional engagement Officers, taking responsibility in actively supporting them to achieve in their posts. 

To succeed in the role, you will need entrepreneurial thinking as well as being able to collaborate with colleagues across the UK to ensure consistent support for staff and volunteers, ensuring our community fundraising activities are delivered well, in a timely manner whilst always being mindful of the return on investment.  The Community Fundraising Manager will be responsible for the delivery and growth of this area of fundraising and will be expected to meeting annual income targets and ensuring effective budget management.
