An exciting opportunity has arisen for a finance administrator to join the Finance Team at Phoenix Futures.

You will need to have some experience in accounts payable/receivable; however, we will be more focused on your work ethic and what you can bring to the team. 

You will be required to support and assist in a wide range of day to day finance processes.

About You

• Experience of processing transactions on a financial system is essential.
• Excellent time/work management skills will be required alongside strong stakeholder engagement.
• Attention to detail, self motivated and organised. 

The Role:

• Processing supplier invoices
• Checking and setting up new supplier accounts
• Reconciling supplier and customer accounts
• Posting transactions and journals onto the finance system

• Lead the financial accounting team of the RBL group to ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements and tax.

As a Director of Financial Accounts you will also play a key role in:

• overseeing the Business Processes function (including Payroll, Payables, Receivables and Cash & Banking), supporting the Head of Business Processes to devise and maintain appropriate processes and controls
• ensuring that business critical systems are appropriately supported and maintained, that risks are appropriately managed and that external suppliers deliver a good level of customer service.
• The breadth of the Royal British Legion’s activities and income streams mean that our accounts are highly complex and we are subject to a raft of external laws and regulation. About the Role

We are looking for an experienced ERP Programme Director to lead the successful delivery of MSI’s global finance and supply chain transformation programme. This programme will transform our capabilities and delivery across MSI’s 37 Country Programmes and Global Support Office (GSO) with the introduction of new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) technology, driving us forward to deliver our vital mission.

The Director will shape the overall programme from the outset, so that it is set up for success. The successful candidate will need deep transformation and ERP experience, delivering full ERP programme lifecycles in complex organisations like MSI. For the programme to be successful, building strong relationships with key stakeholders across MSI’s Country Programmes, Regional and Global Support Offices will be crucial.

The transformation programme has been approved and is currently at the inception stage, giving the ERP Programme Director the opportunity to make key strategic decisions that will shape the programme; such as the selection of an ERP technology solution best suited to MSI’s business requirements, appointing and onboarding a third-party implementation partner and to design and recruit the internal project team required to ensure success of the programme.

We anticipate a 3-year programme cycle with occasional international travel to MSI country programmes as required for the successful delivery of the programme.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Financial Management

• Ensure compliance with all statutory and legal requirements.
• Oversee the year end statutory accounts preparation and audit.
• Lead the preparation of the annual budget and forecasts and present finance papers to the Board of Trustees and relevant committees.
• Ensure timely and accurate financial accounting, production of monthly management accounts and the processing of returns to HMRC.
• Ensure a strong internal control framework and effective financial policies and procedures are in place.
• Responsibility for the SU’s payroll system and ensuring that PAYE regulations are adhered to at all times.
• Ensure that insurance cover is adequate for all areas of the SU, whilst maintaining value for money.
• To ensure that the Union’s cash assets are regularly reconciled, effectively managed to optimise cash flow and invested in a manner that will maximise the interest earned.
• Manage relationships with University finance staff, auditors, tax advisors, insurance brokers and banks.

People Management

• Provide leadership and direction for the Finance Team.
• Provide leadership, direct and coaching for direct reports.
• Co-ordinate the work and monitor the workloads of direct reports, undertaking performance reviews for Finance staff as appropriate.
• Identify individual training and development needs for direct reports and the Finance Team and assist in their development.

Service Delivery Management

• Create a culture of excellent customer service, ensuring that staff treat colleagues, students and stakeholders in a friendly manner and do everything in their power to exceed their expectations.
• Be responsible for the development and maintenance of relevant regulations and policies.
• To lead the development of finance IT systems to simplify and streamline approaches whilst maximising efficiencies.

Compliance Management

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of UPSU’s Risk Register.
• To update and maintain the Union’s asset register and other records of the Union’s financial and physical resources.
• Lead responsibility for any IT Service Level Agreement with the University.
• Ensure the department’s operations are compliant with national and local legal requirements including Health & Safety and the Students’ Union’s internal procedures.
• Overall responsibility for all health and safety matters within the department, ensuring that the Health and Safety Policy and appropriate legislation is adhered to, ensuring the health and safety of customers, suppliers, and visitors to the Students’ Union.
• To produce timely and accurate financial reports to the University as required under the 1994 Education Act.

General

• Understand and uphold the Vision, Mission and Values of the organisation and ensure that these guide and inform the work and conduct of the post holder. UPSU has a democratic decision-making process and the post holder must always respect this when carrying out their duties.
• To cover any Duty Manager responsibilities as and when required.
• Keep UPSU’s strategic plan in mind at all times, aligning all work efforts with the plan
• Be knowledgeable of the UPSU Constitution and Bye-Laws, as they apply to this post, including any legal requirements.

We are seeking a Payroll & Finance Administrator to assist the Executive Director: Finance and Resources with completing administration and payroll tasks to ensure a smooth running Finance Team.

You will administer aspects of donations and income, post donations received into our CRM system liaising with the Director of Fundraising, conduct Gift Aid claims, generate reports and utilise the CDS system to ensure all data is correctly entered and support given to all administrators.

You will administer the payroll and receipt system. Additionally, you will reconcile all costs, generate invoices and check that timesheets, holidays and absence are recorded correctly. This role requires you to work Monday to Friday but you must be willing to be flexible as and when required.

You must have a minimum of five A*-C GCSE passes, including Mathematics and English (or equivalent). Additionally, good IT skills, especially in Excel and administrative, recording and reporting skills are essential for this role.

DOTWUK have a fun and friendly finance team in a small, but high-performing function and are looking for a collaborative, experienced and energetic leader for the role of Head of Finance. 

In this exciting role, the successful candidate will provide the organisation with a timely, accurate and relevant financial management service by assuming day-to-day responsibility for the organisation’s accounting function, to enable the senior management team and the Board of Trustees to assess results and performance and make informed, strategic decisions, and ensure the organisation complies with statutory and corporate regulation and requirements. 

You will work closely with the treasurer, directors and managers to enable them to manage their programme finances and support them to report to donors and to devise sound plans for growth and sustainability. 

The UK chapter expects to grow income across all sources, including from institutions and foundations. You will play a critical role in maintaining and building on this success. 

You will also be responsible for and provide input from a financial and management perspective on strategic development and the general organisation-wide structure and management as part of the Senior Management Team.

This is a new permanent role on our Senior Leadership Team, reporting to the CEO and specifically designed to deliver against the next phase of Waterwise’s journey – increasing our reach and impact on water efficiency both within and beyond the water sector. You’ll be leading and broadening our commercial offer, helping us drive even greater impact in water efficiency, and the income to support it, across the UK. You’ll refine our proposition and pricing of existing services, seeking opportunities to cross-sell additional services to existing audiences, as well as broadening our reach, engaging with completely new audiences and developing and shaping new commercial services aligned to new customer needs. You will have strong experience at senior level in driving commercial impact for good, and everything this involves in terms of income, growth, commercial strategy and delivery, and risk management. You’ll be working closely with our Board, and reporting to the CEO and the Board on finance and risk.

Your Role

You will be responsible for No Limits’ finances, leading on strategic and operational financial management of the charity and preparing and analysing information relating to financial planning. You’ll have the essentials of: 

• qualified accountant (CIMA / CIPFA / ACCA / ACA or equivalent) – consideration may be given to part-qualified with relevant experience
• Strategic and operational financial management experience, including; financial process, income and expenditure management, reporting, year-end, audit, statutory and management account production, establishing and monitoring effective financial controls
• An understanding of the charity environment and wider landscape
• Experience of costing projects with a full-cost recovery approach
• Ability to plan and prioritise own and others work to set deadlines, with good time management skills
• High level of IT competency to support your role, including the use of technology and Microsoft Office
• Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills and team working
• A commitment to personal growth, continuous development, and application of learning

You may also have:

• Up-to-date knowledge of charity SORP regulations and requirements (highly desirable)
• Experience of payroll and pensions
