We have an exciting new opportunity for a Facilities & Technology Coordinator to join our Facilities & Health and Safety team. You will be responsible for providing first line support surrounding use of the Imperial College Union (ICU) building and technology infrastructure, working closely with the digital systems function of the Union and College ICT to ensure that user issues are resolved promptly and efficiently.
Your role will act as a triage for incoming queries to the Systems team, resolving queries where possible and escalating to senior staff members and College ICT where appropriate. In addition, you will also manage ongoing tickets with the wider College ICT service desk, proactively monitoring the status of tickets and seeing them through to resolution.
The role will also be responsible for providing installation, setup and tracking of technology and physical equipment, allowing proper visibility of our resources for management purposes.
You will be responsible for ensuring the proper maintenance of all Union spaces, promptly reporting defects, and arranging repair work as needed. They take ownership of shared spaces, including Activity and Meeting rooms, ensuring they are clean, organised, with suitable equipment in place and always ready for use. The role will also include undertaking essential maintenance, repair and improvement tasks to address minor issues or repairs. Reporting to the Facilities, Health & Safety Manager, and working closely with the Head of Digital & Marketing, the post holder will be a skilled user of IT with excellent customer service skills. They will be highly organised and process-driven, ready to learn new skills to assist the Union with service delivery.

Essential Requirements
- Experience of providing technical IT support in a managed desktop environment

About EFA
English for Action provides free, participatory, and empowering English language classes (ESOL) for migrants in London. Our classes are spaces to build community and support students to organise collectively around issues like employment and housing rights. Our work currently supports around 500 adult migrants across London. We’ve become a national centre of good practice for a radical participatory approach to ESOL, informed by the work of Paulo Freire, and we share this approach through trainings, research and partnerships.

- To take part in developing more efficient ways of working within the team

Other responsibilities and expectations:
- The post holder is expected to work flexibly to respond to changing needs at The Geological Society. As the Conference Office operates a room hire service it is expected that the postholder will undertake out-of-hours work to ensure that this service can operate. Excess hours worked will be compensated for by time off in lieu.
- The post holder is expected to undertake any other responsibilities or tasks consistent with the role and/or reasonably required by the Head of Events.

- Experience 2-3 years working in events and/or venue background.
- A commercial mindset with natural aptitude for sales.
- Confident induvial with a can-do attitude, uses initiative to make things happen.
- Excellent reporting and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work to deadlines and juggle a varied and busy workload.
- Team player, working effectively both independently and in a team.
- Proven experience of working across multiple projects to tight deadlines.
- Competent with Microsoft Office programmes.
- Collaborative spirit, willing to work across multiple teams to achieve best possible outcomes.
- Strong level of spelling and grammar.
The ideal candidate will have:
ESSENTIAL
- Experience of event sales and marketing
- Experience of working with external suppliers and speakers
- Personable, customer service and networking skills
- Awareness of the events industry
- Awareness of running events for similar organisation / or venue based.
DESIRABLE
- Degree qualification
- Working within a venue similar to Burlington House Image editing / design skills.
