Role: Communications and Engagement Manager

Job Description

Key responsibilities include:
Communication and campaign creation
- Drafting digital communication and engagement plans to deliver results.
- Crafting exciting, creative, energetic, simple communications which drive action.
- Working to support colleagues and audiences. Working with stakeholders to ensure communications are planned and delivered at the right time to meet their needs.
Using results to drive change
- Using insight to inform new plans.
- Monitoring and evaluating impact by using analytics to maximise effectiveness.
Copy creation
- Using your strong written and verbal skills to curate and manage high-quality, consistent content across all our delivery platforms: social, Live Well Hub, web, email and PR.
- Interviewing members of the community and creating engaging content from their stories.
- Generating press releases to drive coverage and awareness and raise the profile of campaigns.
Social media
- Leading on building our impact and engagement on social media with our audiences, in line with our objectives, including supporting engagement campaigns and fundraising.
- Ensuring that we are using the best tools and techniques by staying up-to-date with trends.
- Monitoring social media, ensuring prompt and accurate responses to enquiries.
- Using analytics to constantly optimise our social media impact.
- Developing content for email marketing, including for fundraising and events campaigns.
- Optimising email by A/B testing content to maximise performance through design and content improvements and creating triggered email sequences to build our message.
- Using audience segmentation and personalisation to support campaigns.
- Using analytics to identify ways to constantly optimise our email impact.
Website content plus content SEO
- Overseeing content development for the website and checking existing content so our website is kept up-to-date, engaging, and on brand.
- Ensuring web content is optimised for SEO and usability, training staff on best practice.
- Leading team efforts to enhance the website as an engagement tool.
- Using analytics to identify potential content changes.
Engagement
- Acting as the digital community lead for engagement of our online communities on social media and the Live Well Hub, including guiding team members to follow best practice.
- Supporting online events and driving positive engagement opportunities.
- Responding proactively and appropriately to online messages and comments.
- Engaging and participating in online community groups and discussions beyond our channels.
Brand communication
- Ensuring all activity aligns with brand priorities.
- Championing on-brand messaging. Acting as a trusted expert on brand tone of voice.
- Ensuring all media and communications guidelines/policies are followed and kept updated.
- Sharing best practice with the wider organisation and continuing professional development.
Creative skills
- Generating and developing creative and innovative ideas with a good eye for brand, design, film and photography.
- Creating engaging collateral through software such as Canva, Photoshop or Indesign.
- Editing small amounts of audio or video (desirable).
Essential skills:
- High energy, with the ability to work at a fast pace, with a proactive, creative and flexible approach.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively and autonomously from home while working collaboratively and building relationships as part of a tight-knit team.
- A keen eye for detail with a consistently high quality of work output.
- Highly organised, able to manage a content schedule, and plan and deliver digital campaigns. Able to prioritise work across multiple projects to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrable experience in developing, leading and executing high-quality, effective communications and engagement strategies that achieve desired results.
- Excellent writing, editing and communication skills for social media, web, email and PR.
- An understanding of how communications affect and engage audiences.
- An ability to communicate in an inclusive way with diverse audiences.
- Experience in managing and optimising website content, with strong on-page SEO skills.
- Confident using tools like Dot Digital (email) and Loomly (social scheduling).
- Able to flex hours and work outside normal hours where needed to cover events (time off in lieu will be provided).
- Familiarity with Google Analytics, and digital monitoring tools.
Desirable skills:

Working location

We’re looking for a Research Manager who combines exceptional ability in research and report-writing, with a real passion for (and experience in) peacebuilding. The Partnership Development Team is comprised of partnership experts across a portfolio of institutional partners. The team seeks to deliver exceptional global partnerships, optimising both funding and influence. The team works closely with colleagues from across the Global Programmes and Policy, Advocacy & Campaigns Division, other Save the Children members and with Save the Children International (SCI) country and regional teams to deliver on our partnership objectives. About the role
As the Account Manager you will contribute to and effectively support our global programme partnerships work, to achieve Save the Children's strategic objectives.
The focus of the role will include extending Save the Children's relationships with development banks plus new initiatives such as impact investment and results-based project funding. You will support the Partnership Managers on a varied portfolio of cross-Save the Children partnerships as well as supporting with the management of cross Save the Children partnership management.
You will support and liaise with a network of internal and external stakeholders to optimise our engagement with key partners, in pursuit of specific partnership opportunities.
In this role, you will:
- Ensure a broad-ranging and inclusive partnerships. This includes:
- Contributing to the implementation of SCUK's overall institutional partnerships strategy.

About you
To be successful, it is important that you have:
- Skills in partnership management and market assessment in relation to overall positioning with partners.
- Experience, interest and knowledge of current thinking and future trends and thorough understanding of international development issues.
- Proven experience of providing creative and innovative approaches in developing new initiatives that contribute towards partnership objectives.
- Strong management behaviours, including external relations, partner focussed-approaches, delivery of results, strategic purpose, negotiating & influencing.
- Experience in relationship management, working with donors, trusts and foundations, or equally demanding partners.
- Experience of undertaking industry trend and donor specific research, finding relevant, reliable, and up to date information quickly.
- Excellent coordination and relationship building skills in forming and maintaining both internal and external relationships.

The Role
The deputy manager would support the manager with recruiting and managing the large staff team, creating a culture of positive behaviour support within a personalised environment, embedding quality standards, achieving and progressing good outcomes with the people we support. As well as managing the service safely within the regulations and standard required by CQC.
You will act as a role model in the delivery of active support you will promote and maintain person centred approaches and inclusive community links to achieve positive outcomes with the people we support from the frontline staff team.
Skills and Expertise

· A minimum of 1 years’ experience of providing support to people with learning disabilities/ autism and or complex needs and or behaviours of concern

· Have strong IT skills and able to manage own time and work under pressure

· QCF Level 5 in Leadership for Health and Social Care, or equivalent or willingness to gain a qualification
· Experience of staff management and the ability to lead and develop a large team ensuring staff are appropriately trained
· Experience of carrying out needs assessments and creating support and risk management plans for people with complex needs
· The ability to deliver the service in accordance with an individual support plans, the service specification and CQC requirements
· A commitment to providing high quality, personalised active support
· Knowledge of managing a budget is desirable

We are looking for an experienced people manager for our Skills Development team. This team creates and delivers internal training for Centrepoint colleagues. This role will lead a small team of trainers who design and deliver training both under an existing curriculum and new developments as demand requires. What you’ll be doing
The Skills Development Manager is responsible for a team who are developing a robust, diverse, inclusive and inspiring curriculum across the organisation. We are developing a large amount of new and exciting courses across a wide range of subjects, so we are open to individuals with a variety of experience.
