Knowledge of charity finance systems, project grant/contract monitoring and the management of housing benefit applications would be an advantage.

Hillside Clubhouse is a co-produced mental health employment support charity working across Camden and Islington. We support people with mental health conditions into training, volunteering, and employment opportunities. People can access our services via our Clubhouse, where they can share their skills and expertise with others and support the running of the charity.  Alternatively, they can receive support out in the community from one of our employment specialists based within primary and secondary care.

This role is still within its infancy and will be working closely with the Executive Director to lead and oversee our employment services.  Recent investment in our services has led to the growth of our employment offer and this role currently oversees four employment teams across Camden and Islington.  The post holder will work closely with the other members of the senior leadership team to shape, deliver and evaluate Hillside’s business strategy and support on ensuring Hillside continues to meet the needs of the local mental health community.

Purpose of the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager to support 2 organisations (Basis Yorkshire and Women’s Counselling and Therapy) at management level to work with the CEOs and senior management teams to ensure that their goals are achieved through effective finance practices. The role will lead on financial management and direction of the organisational budgets, ensuring contract requirements for finance and performance reports are met, whilst ensuring regular updates are provided to effectively manage project budgets and expenses and offer insights into financial risks for the organisations while setting out key procedures to mitigate these and ensuring controls are set and adhered to. Overall role of the Network Coordinator

The Network Coordinator is part of a small team comprising of the Director, Head of Policy, Network Coordinator, Communications and Policy Assistant and volunteers.

The Network Coordinator role lies at the heart of the network ensuring it functions efficiently while leading our activities to support our members in their work on gender equality and women’s rights.  They work alongside women’s rights advocates and practitioners across a range of issues within the international development sector, while ensuring that the organisation runs smoothly.

Specifically, the role is to:

• Manage the network’s finances and funding processes

• Coordinate support to the network’s members
• Coordinate support for the different branches of the network

A rare opportunity has arisen within the Charity for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to assist The Head of Finance in providing a comprehensive financial and admin function. This role will ensure the smooth day to day running of the Purchase Ledger for both Charity and its subsidiary Trading company.

About the Charity :

The County Air Ambulance Trust has been providing essential funds that help to save lives for over a quarter of century, registered as a charity in 1996, the Trust was originally set up to provide funding and support for air ambulances based in the Midlands.

From its regional beginnings it has become a National Charity and since 2009, following the launch of the HELP Appeal, the charity has been raising much needed funds to provide life-saving helipads where they are needed most. The process of helipad development is ongoing and we are involved in discussions with Major Trauma Centres and key A&E hospitals, where new helipads or upgrades are needed over the next few years. Cancer52 is a national organisation, created in 2007 by Professor Sir Mike Richards, CBE, then National Clinical Director for Cancer, and registered as a charity in England and Wales in September 2017.

We are an exceptional organisation, providing one voice for all those affected by rare and less common cancers.  Historically, these cancers have been underrepresented and under-funded.  Today, they represent 47% of people diagnosed with cancer, but 55% of all cancer deaths – a hidden majority.  Cancer52’s aim is to change this by taking the collective voice of our members to those who influence cancer policy, research, services and treatment.

Cancer52 is recognised for its strong convening role, bringing together our 115 member charities with organisations in industry, government, the NHS and other stakeholders to address the inequalities faced by patients with rare and less common cancers.  Our reputation is strong and we are in a unique position to provide a common voice for these underrepresented cancers.  The figures for people with these cancers are challenging and there is much work to do.

The role will be a stimulating and inspiring opportunity for an experienced equality and discrimination lawyer to work pro actively and strategically to use the law as a tool for change. 

BEO is a civil rights charity that was set up to challenge and dismantle systemic racism. We work with Black communities by using campaigning, policy and research in conjunction with the law to effect meaningful change. 
Legal services are central to BEO. We are therefore looking for someone of 4yrs PQE who has experience in social welfare, human rights, public and administration law and who seeks an opportunity to use those skills specifically in the area of challenging systemic racism. 

In the last year we have been developing our relationships with partner organisations, ranging from community groups, our stakeholder law firms, NGOs and law firms experienced in equality and discrimination law, to deliver legal services. The role holder will be required to build on and expand these relationships so that BEO can offer quality legal advice to Back communities in the nations and regions across the United Kingdom. 
We are building our internal legal team so that we can provide targeted legal support to Black communities. We are looking for someone to work with the Director of Legal Services and Policy to ensure that high quality legal advice, support and representation are the hallmark of BEO. 

Apart from delivering targeted legal advice and representation and identifying and running strategic litigation cases, the role holder will be required to think creatively to assist in fundraising and campaigning to develop a sustainable legal service. BEO does not have a Legal Aid Agency contract so self funds all legal work. BEO is a small team, so the role holder must have the skills and confidence to work on their own initiative as well as with members of other teams in BEO.

You will also be able to demonstrate that you are aware that Black communities are not homogeneous and you will bring this understanding to the way that you approach your work and interact with clients, our partners and community organisations. 

Your qualities will include an understanding that intersectionality is relevant in all that we do at BEO and that your assessment of how we use the law will be seen through that lens. 

You will be someone who has lived experience of or insight and comprehension of the impact of racism on all aspects of the lives of members of Black communities.

The Head of Operations will oversee three warehouses in Bristol and one in Plymouth to coordinate the delivery of around 40 tonnes of surplus food each week to c400 front line organisations. The right person will combine a love of logistics, a passion for reducing food waste and leading multi-dimensional teams. In return, they will be part of an inclusive and friendly team in a small but fast-growing charity doing impactful and rewarding work.

           Strategic Development

• Develop and implement the operations strategy (consisting of warehouse, fleet, health & safety and compliance strategies)

• Drive innovation, efficiencies and improvements across operations to increase environmental and social impact while reducing costs where possible

• Align operational capacity with growth plans across surplus food volumes, volunteers, staff and our membership service, working closely with the Operations Leadership Team and the COO

• Prepare and report on operational metrics for the Senior Leadership Team and Board of Trustees

  Operational Management

• Ensure efficient setup and the ongoing operation of all warehouses including seasonal uplifts, remote and temporary operations

• Create and manage the operational budget, ensuring expenditure is at/below target

• Liaise with our food sourcing teams to make the best use of available food to meet the

  demands of members whilst seeking to minimise waste

• Efficiently manage all warehouse buildings, equipment, and vehicle compliance

• Provide operational guidance to strategic partner organisations supporting the charity

  to deliver the FareShare South West service

• Manage and support our Fleet Coordinator and hold ultimate responsibility for our fleet

  of vehicles and material handling equipment

  Health & Safety and Compliance

• Lead on charity-wide adherence to food safety and health & safety regulations, ensuring all teams are trained to the required standards

• Maintain compliance with internal FareShare South West policies, and the national charity FareShare UK policies, within which we operate

• Hold ultimate responsibility for the oversight of external audits and timely implementation of corrective actions, working closely with the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer

  Workforce Development

• As a member of the Operations Leadership Team, support with internal policy development, operational restructures etc, as guided by the COO

• Balance staff rotas for safe and effective operations, including provision for seasonal fluctuations

• Manage recruitment, training and development of warehouse teams, including Health & Safety, wellbeing and welfare

• Lead on staff appraisals and probationary reviews across the Operations Team, ensuring alignment to the Strategic Plan and personal and professional development of the team
