Role summary

You will also work closely with the Head of Supporter Communications, the Finance and Fundraising Administrator, and the Strategic Leadership Team. You will work to grow trusts, foundations, and partnerships income through research, relationship management, and high-quality funding applications and reporting. You will also oversee funding pipelines, CRM management, and income forecasting, to support sustainable fundraising growth for LICC.

Responsibilities

Lead the development and delivery of LICC’s Trusts, Foundations and Partnerships strategy, helping to shape priorities, funding approaches, and opportunities for sustainable income growth.

Develop and manage a strategic pipeline of trusts, foundations, churches, and organisational partners, using research and insight to identify and prioritise new funding opportunities.

Hold responsibility for delivering agreed income targets from trusts, foundations, and partnerships, regularly reporting on performance and risk.

Work collaboratively across LICC teams to build, develop, and steward strong relationships with trusts, foundations and mission partners, cultivating long-term, strong partnerships.

Prepare high-quality, compelling proposals and applications, securing funding from a wide range of trusts and foundations.

Work with teams across LICC to gather budgets, project information, and impact data to support the development of funding proposals and reports.

Ensure effective stewardship of grants, including compliance with funding agreements, management of deadlines, and delivery of timely, high-quality reports and updates to funders.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all trusts and partnership activity within LICC’s CRM system.

Monitor and forecast trust income in collaboration with the Director of Development, assessing timelines, likelihood of success, and funder engagement.

Support the delivery of events and engagement opportunities for funders and partners to strengthen relationships and showcase LICC’s impact.

Act as an ambassador for LICC, building its profile and reputation with external stakeholders and supporting its wider mission.

Skills and experience

Strong proposal writing skills, with the ability to craft clear, compelling funding applications.

Excellent attention to detail, including experience managing budgets, project information, and CRM data.

Highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively.

Collaborative approach, with experience working across teams to develop opportunities.

Strong relationship management skills, building effective internal and external partnerships.

Strong understanding of grant compliance, including funding restrictions and reporting requirements.

Knowledge of the trusts and foundations landscape, with experience in identifying funding opportunities.
Useful information:
All part-time staff are expected to work in the London office on Tuesdays, with the flexibility to work from home or the office other days (flexible working arrangements are possible).
There are 25 days’ annual leave per annum (pro rata) with statutory holidays in addition (pro rata). A maximum of three further days holiday is given to all staff who would otherwise be working between Christmas and New Year.
You will be expected to be available for occasional evening events. A ‘time off in lieu’ arrangement is in place, to claim back required work over the usual contracted hours.

Supporter Engagement & Fundraising Communications Manager — Go Beyond £35,000–£37,000 | Fully Remote | Permanent | Full-time
Go Beyond has given over 21,000 vulnerable children life-changing residential breaks since 1994. Young carers who spend their days looking after parents. Children living in poverty for whom a school holiday means hunger, not adventure. Children who've been bullied or bereaved and need a week away from their ordinary life.
The charity is entirely self-funded. £1.8 million a year, every penny raised by supporters. No government money. Which means the work this fundraising team does is directly and specifically what makes those breaks possible.
This is the role that sits at the heart of that.
What makes this moment unusual:
Go Beyond's flagship campaign, Ice Cream Moments, launches this summer — backed by Louis Theroux, James Acaster, David Gower and Jenny Agutter. The trustees want to go viral. A legacy programme is built and ready to launch. An alumni programme connecting with 21,000+ former beneficiaries is research-complete and waiting for someone to open the door. And a loyal supporter base of 200–300 regular givers — many of whom have been giving for over a decade — is generating £90,000 a year with almost no stewardship behind it.
Sara, the Director of Fundraising, describes what's needed like this: "Think of this as your own company. Think of this income stream as your domain — you could make it something amazing."
What the role involves:
The Supporter Engagement & Fundraising Communications Manager will own the supporter communications function end to end. This is a project management and strategy role — not an execution role. The doing sits with two direct reports and a network of freelancers. Your job is to build the plan, manage the team, deliver the campaigns and make sure the data tells you what's working.
In practice that means:
- Building and managing proper supporter journeys for regular givers, challenge event runners and Ice Cream Moments donors
- Project managing the full campaigns calendar — four annual appeals, Ice Cream Moments, challenge events, and a growing digital communications programme
- Developing and implementing a data strategy, setting up income dashboards and overseeing the CRM
- Launching the legacy programme and, in time, the alumni programme
- Managing two direct reports: a Digital Marketing Officer and a Data & Admin / Challenge Events Officer
- Writing an 18-month strategy with proper pipelines and income forecasts
What we're looking for:
This is not a pure fundraiser role or a pure marketing role. It's a hybrid — and the right person will see that as a feature, not a confusion.
- A track record of owning campaigns end to end — not being part of them, owning them. Specific examples, with dates, outputs and results
- Genuine data literacy — comfortable in a CRM, able to run queries, understand segmentation. Not expert-level, but curious enough that you're never caught out
- Financial awareness — you ask what the target is before anything else. You work backwards from an income number
- Hands-on as well as strategic — you can delegate and direct, but you can also do
- Strong project management — multiple workstreams, freelancers, deadlines you can't move
Charity sector experience is welcome but not essential. Commercial direct marketing, agency-side or individual giving backgrounds are all genuinely considered.

About the role
We’re looking for a Virtual Fundraising Officer to join our Virtual Fundraising Team.
This role sits within the Mass Participation Team, an ambitious team that attracts and enables supporters to raise funds for Young Lives vs Cancer through participation in virtual or real-life events and challenges. Young Lives vs Cancer recruits around 11,500 virtual fundraisers a year. For many of these supporters this is their first interaction with Young Lives vs Cancer and shows that virtual fundraising can be just the beginning of a relationship with a new supporter.
The Virtual Fundraising Officer is responsible for the delivery and growth of virtual fundraising challenges, ensuring exceptional supporter journeys and stewardship while driving ambitious participation and income targets.
The main purpose of this role is to project manage several events in our virtual events portfolio at Young Lives vs Cancer, and when needed, support the Virtual Fundraising Senior Officer on the project management of the remaining events in our portfolio. This will include utilising a data-driven approach to analyse performance, optimise processes, and identify opportunities for innovation. Collaborate with stakeholders, manage suppliers, and create engaging content to inspire and empower supporters to reach their fundraising ambitions. Ensure all activities are compliant with relevant regulations, contribute to organisational objectives, and uphold best practices in fundraising.
What will I be doing?
No two days are the same at Young Lives vs Cancer. So, summarising your ‘day to day’ isn’t easy. Here are some of the main things you’ll be doing, but you’ll find more details in the job description.
- Project management: Manage the virtual challenges portfolio, specifically the smaller events in our virtual portfolio from conception to delivery, and support the Virtual Fundraising Senior Officer on the delivery of the remaining of our Virtual challenge events when needed.
- Stewardship: Develop and deliver engaging, multi-channel stewardship plans to maximise supporter engagement, retention and income, including community management, creation of supporter resources, and implementation of second action strategies.
- Stakeholder/relationship management: Build and manage effective relationships with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure high-quality delivery, strong collaboration, clear communication, and accurate supporter data management.
- Budgeting, reporting & evaluating: Analyse and report on performance, budgets and market trends to inform decision-making, support target setting, and deliver post-event evaluation and continuous improvement across virtual fundraising activities.
- Compliance: Ensure all virtual fundraising activity is fully compliant with relevant regulations, including GDPR and the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Practice, while adhering to organisational policies, maximising Gift Aid income, and meeting all health, safety, and risk management requirements.
