The Deputy Head of Fundraising will play a pivotal role in advancing our mission. The Deputy Head of Fundraising will join a small but agile team, providing them with experience across a range of income streams, a chance to develop high-level relationships with senior members of staff and senior volunteers as well as direct experience stewarding donors. Working within the Individual Giving team, your role is to manage and support the delivery of supporter-centric fundraising appeals which will recruit, retain or develop supporters. These appeals will include utilising online and offline channels such as organic and paid social advertising, SMS, email, private sites, direct mail, and telemarketing.

Please this role is a hybrid based position with three days based at our head office in London. 

What you do  

Main purpose of post 

This role will lead our individual giving campaigns ensuring key audiences see the impact of the charity and are motivated to donate to support the continuation of our work.  It will build on existing successful campaigns, including our Christmas Star appeal, and create new and engaging additions.  You will ensure the donor journey is sensitive, engaging and straightforward and place a high importance on the ongoing stewardship of donors.

You will report to the Head of Fundraising and work alongside our Fundraising Team to ensure plans align and budget targets are achieved. You will work closely with the Campaign Manager and Data Manager to target individual giving effectively across South Yorkshire, Bassetlaw and North Derbyshire. 

This is the perfect role for anyone who loves to plan and see those plans through to completion, who has excellent customer care skills and who is digitally savvy. You will enjoy working as part of a busy fundraising team and collaborating to achieve collective success.

Key Responsibilities  

· Lead and implement the individual giving donor journey to increase the charity’s individual gifts including regular and pay roll giving.

· Lead the creation of fundraising individual giving campaigns to recruit new donors, retain existing supporters and grow reach, engagement and income.

· Lead the development of new individual giving campaigns, working closely with the Campaign Manager, to deliver direct marketing campaigns across various channels, which enhance current supporters understanding of the difference their donation makes and also encourages new supporters to donate to our cause and projects.

· To create new individual giving income opportunities, including introducing a charity lottery.

· Review and evaluate campaigns against income and impact success factors and implement improvements.

· Maximise all gift aid opportunities within the agreed audiences.

· Be responsible for an income target of a minimum of £300,000 per annum.

· Manage relationships with existing supporters to ensure a high level of donor care is achieved whilst achieving and maximising income opportunities.

· Analyse and segment the charity's supporter base, developing appropriate supporter journeys and propositions, and the effective use of supporter data for campaign purposes.

Utilise digital methods and platforms for new donor acquisition

· To assist in the delivery of a range of donor, supporter and staff engagement events throughout the year in line with our donor recognition & stewardship plan.

· Contribute to development of the fundraising annual plan to drive forward the charity’s ambitious plans for change and growth in line with the 3 year strategy.

· Ensure that all activities and contacts are managed through the charity’s CRM (Raiser’s Edge).

· Ensure all fundraising activity complies with laws and best practice governing charitable activity, most notably General Data Protection Regulations, Fundraising Regulator Code of Practice and charity law.

· Attend and contribute to team meetings and 'away days' and be an active, invested member of our team.

· Ability and willingness to travel throughout the region to attend charity fundraising events.

· Able to work flexibly, including occasionally working in the evenings and at weekends.

To build a high-performing fundraising team to drive and stabilise significantly increased fundraising performance across a range of income streams. Leadership

· Champion fundraising across the organisation.

· Be an inspiring ambassador for Weston Park Cancer Charity and ensure this is reflected in the strategies, outputs, and behaviour of the fundraising team.

· Collaborate with the Data Manager to maintain oversight of the supporter database to ensure integrity, legal compliance, and generation of appropriate insight to support delivery of income growth.·  

Fundraising Development

· Work with the Head of Strategic Partnerships and Development, external advisor(s), commissioned agencies and the appeal committee to deliver a multi-year major fundraising appeal

· Work with the Legacy and In Memory Fundraising Manger to deliver and implement a legacy pipeline and growth in In-Memory giving income

· Work with the Individual Giving Fundraising Manager to deliver and implement a strategy which prioritises both the retention and acquisition of new donors, enhances the use of digital products, platforms, and channels and delivers the highest standard of supporter care and donor stewardship.

· Lead on the introduction of a charity lottery.

· Work with relevant colleagues to deliver a new strategy and plan which prioritises deepening and strengthening existing relationships and building a strong pipeline of new prospects to deliver multi-year funding from major donors, high profile supporters, trusts, foundations, and companies.

· Support the Data Manager with the adoption and use of Raisers Edge NXT CRM to effectively support data-driven decision making and relationship management to generate supporter insights in support of increased fundraising.

Brand and Marketing

· Working in collaboration with the Deputy CEO, Marketing Manager and external agencies in the development and delivery of an integrated marketing and communications strategy that is driven by audience insight.

· Foster a strong working relationship between the fundraising and marketing team to inspire high-performance and results-oriented marketing to build a community of supporters by delivering a seamless supporter journey that promotes the charity’s work and delivers greater income generation.

· Empower the fundraising team to successfully deploy our brand.

· Work in partnership with the Marketing Manager to ensure content is up to date, factually accurate and to manage reputational risk.·  

People Management

· Create a high-performing team that is ambitious and passionate about Weston Park Cancer Charity’s vision.

· Provide line management to direct reports, setting, and monitoring individual performance objectives and motivating the team to be innovative and professional in its thinking and delivery.

The Individual Giving Manager will be responsible for reaching new supporters, developing and implementing engaging and innovative marketing activities that attract a range of new donors for the charity. Key responsibilities include:

• Working with the Head of Individual Giving and Legacies create and review plans to deliver strategies within agreed income and cost thresholds, generating sustainable year on year growth.

At Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice we care for children and young adults with life-shortening and life-threatening conditions. Position Overview: We're seeking an experienced Individual Giving Manager to lead our Individual Giving program. Reporting into the Head of Fundraising, you'll be responsible for developing and delivering fundraising appeals and regular giving campaigns. Your mission is to inspire supporters, cultivate a sense of ownership, and secure regular, committed donations to support our vital work.

Main Responsibilities:

• Project manage, deliver, and develop fundraising campaigns across various channels including direct mail, email, digital, social media, radio, press inserts, and advertising.
• Grow and manage the regular donors’ scheme, Payroll Giving, In-Memory giving, and appeals, contributing to the overall fundraising strategy.
• Champion the use of data and insight to drive regular giving, utilizing databases for effective prospect and donor management.
• Monitor, evaluate, and forecast campaign performance, ensuring targets are met and providing reports as required.
• Manage and review all copywriting and creative processes, maintaining tone and key messages for appropriate audiences.
• Collaborate with the wider fundraising team, including Corporate Partnerships, Major Donors, and Trusts and Foundations, to maximize opportunities.
• Adhere to the charity's policies and processes, providing support to the Head of Fundraising and working closely with colleagues to optimize fundraising opportunities.
• Champion Police Care UK and the support it provides to our police community.

Person Specification:

• Proven track record in developing and implementing successful regular giving strategies and campaigns.
• Demonstrated ability to raise substantial fundraised income and achieve targets.
• Effective stakeholder management skills, both internally and externally.
• Experience in budget management, reporting, and forecasting.
• Proficient project management skills.
• Strong communication skills to influence, motivate, and persuade donors.
• Working knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, CRMs, social media, and web platforms.
• Proactive, self-motivated, and adaptable.
• Empathy with the police service and understanding of the welfare needs of police officers and their families.

Desirable:

• Experience working with external creative agencies.
• Volunteer management experience.
• Experience in organizing fundraising events.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Knowledge of lottery management and legislation.

Title: Head of High Value Operations

Salary: £60,000 per annum

The Head of High Value Operations role is central to our bold fundraising ambitions. Establishing and leading a team of operations professionals encompassing research, data and insight, case for support, special events, and supporter care, the Head of High Value Operations will drive income growth by embedding best practice in fundraising operations, developing the processes and systems which support fundraising, and building strong networks across Anthony Nolan in support of fundraising. Reporting to the Chief of Fundraising, and part of the Fundraising SLT, we’re looking for someone who is a natural relationship builder, someone who understands the key components of an operations team in a fundraising context, and someone who is excited to build a team and programme from the ground up, using their skills and experience in this field.

What’s needed?

• Practical management experience of prospect research, fundraising database management, or gift management
• Proven record of leading and motivating a team, ideally within a fundraising operations team
• An understanding of high value fundraising
• Collaboration with the wider Philanthropy, Corporate, and Special Events teams and other colleagues to identify sustainable ways to deliver our current and future strategy

We are looking for a Senior Individual Giving Officer (Retention) to join our Fundraising team.

Title: Senior IG Officer, Retention

Salary: £33,000-£36,000 per annum, dependent on experience

Contract: Permanent, fulltime

Location: Hybrid, with head office in Hampstead, London

This role will create and deliver supporter-centric and insight-driven retention campaigns to maximise the loyalty and income from our base of 30,000 individual giving supporters. Reporting to the Individual Giving Manager, you will develop and assess a range of supporter journeys and asks to best retain supporters across regular giving, raffle, lottery, cash giving and legacy - through digital, telemarketing and direct mail channels.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and grow the supporter retention and engagement programme within an agreed annual budget and calendar. The successful candidate will be an experienced direct marketing and digital project manager and collaborative team player. If you have excellent creative, analysis and project management skills across a range of channels with a detailed understanding of supporter engagement for mass audiences, we would love to hear from you.
