The role
As Head of Income Generation, you will be leading the team and focus on increasing income across a number of different income streams including Corporate, Community, Events, Membership, Legacy, Individual Giving, Trusts and Philanthropy. You will also lead on Communications and ensure that you are raising the profile of the Charity within the Midlands.
You will lead on the strategy as well as working closely with the SLT to ensure, lead and direct the fundraising, commercial and new business by providing leadership, coaching and setting priorities and targets.
About you
The Head of Income Generation will be able to demonstrate;
- Experience in a senior fundraising role previously and have led on both implementing and devising a fundraising strategy.
- Experience in leading a team and working towards targets.
- Experience in leading on commercial activities specifically retail is desirable.
- You should have an interest in animal welfare and experience of developing suitable market research and testing plans.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships both internally and externally.
This role will be a hybrid role with 1 or 2 days spent at home and the rest of the time will be spent on site in Solihull. Please note that there will be travel across Birmingham Dog's Home Sites. Focusing on Ultra High Net Worth Individuals and Corporates, this role will lead the relationship mapping, building, and the fundraising ask. It will convey the unique offering Cumberland Lodge can bring to potential donors and work towards multimillion pound income levels to ensure the growth of the charity's educational programme delivery and activity. This role line manages one staff member and has direct support from the CEO to achieve income generation growth. A key opportunity is the upcoming 80 th anniversary of the Educational Foundation in 2027.
The successful candidate will be able to evidence extensive high value fundraising experience, with notable examples of successfully securing six and seven-figure gifts from major donors and corporates.
This person will have proven experience of creating and leading successful philanthropy fundraising strategy to achieve income and engagement growth of a multimillion-pound level. They will also be an experienced senior leader and ideally have knowledge of the education, youth, social impact, and social values sectors. They will champion an inclusive culture and align with Cumberland Lodge's mission and values.

The is a critical role in the organisation to ensure that philanthropic income is implemented in line with donor expectations and ensuring any obligations are stipulated in gift and grant agreements. Key Responsibilities:
- Work with fundraisers and colleagues in the Supporter Operations and Donor Relations teams, to ensure that philanthropic gifts are correctly implemented in line with the donor's expectations and the terms of their gift agreements.
- Work with key internal stakeholders to ensure the funding is used correctly and pledge payments are fulfilled.
- Design complex gift implementation strategies.
- Develop and monitor systems that ensure fundraiser compliance with policies and procedures relating to the implementation of donations. This will also include supporting the Philanthropy Team in monitoring gifts in stewardship, highlighting any gifts requiring re-solicitation.
- Use relationship management techniques to ensure that the relevant stakeholders are notified of any changes or delays to gift implementation. For example, capital builds, recruitment of key posts, progress in research projects.
- Support the Philanthropy Team and wider Directorate in managing business processes, developing processes, and review of key gift documentation, that will support future implementation of philanthropic donations.

We have a wonderful opportunity for a Corporate Partnerships Manager (New Business) to join the RNID, the national charity supporting more than 18 million people in the UK who are deaf, have hearing loss or tinnitus. You’ll be working in their small and ambitious corporate partnerships team reporting to the Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager.
As part of this exciting role, you will lead the creation of compelling partnership propositions, build and nurture relationships with prospective partners, inspiring them by demonstrating the value and impact of partnering with RNID. You will manage RNID’s consultancy programme with businesses, as they continue to make a meaningful impact for people who are deaf, have hearing loss, or tinnitus.
To be successful as the Corporate Partnerships Manager (New Business) you will need:
- Proven experience in securing corporate-charity partnerships, with a track record of securing multiple new business deals worth five to six figures or more.
- Strong pitching, presenting, and high-quality proposal writing skills.
- Confidence in representing a charity at external events and speaking engagements.

As the Head of Development you will shape and drive a new fundraising strategy on the back of the organisation’s 25th birthday and will inspire their team and key internal and external stakeholders to achieve fundraising success. Working closely with the Deputy Director, Director and Board to realise fundraising ambitions, you will provide hands on leadership to maximise income from all areas with a particular focus on philanthropy. You will develop strong relationships with existing funders, sponsors, supporters and other stakeholders to ensure effective and exciting stewardship processes are in place.
The selected candidate will have a proven track record of raising six figure donations through personalised and sophisticated approaches to donors and will have examples of personally leading cultivation and stewardship of major donors. The postholder will be a brilliant relationship fundraiser and will be an effective, inspiring leader.
This role is a full-time permanent position that will have hybrid working in the London offices for three days per week.

Prospectus are excited to be working with our client to help them recruit for a Direct Marketing Manager (Acquisition) to join their team. The group is a unique and dynamic membership organisation which comprises 15 of the UK’s leading humanitarian agencies.
Since it was founded in 1963, the organisation has run over 78 fundraising appeals and raised more than £2.4 billion to help save lives and protect livelihoods in disaster-affected communities around the world.
This role is offered on a permanent contract basis paying a salary of £40,560 per annum with flexible hybrid working arrangements available at their London office.
The Direct Marketing Manager (Acquisition) is responsible for delivering key direct marketing activities during appeals for major disasters or emergencies. The post holder will work closely with the Head of Public Fundraising and relevant staff to develop and deliver direct marketing in appeals. They will work with the Public Fundraising team to utilise a large database of supporters for communication by email, SMS, and direct mail. They will identify new fundraising channels and ideas for increasing the impact of income generation. The post holder will also lead the benchmarking process of Member Agency fundraising performance following each appeal Period of Joint Action (PJA).
They are looking for someone with demonstrable direct marketing experience with a focus on high volume donor acquisition. They are looking for a candidate with a demonstrable experience of direct marketing techniques such as direct mail, email and SMS. They are looking for someone with a demonstrable track record of developing effective digital and direct marketing strategies, which resulted in significant growth of income. The ideal candidate will have excellent knowledge of direct marketing initiatives in an International Development context and experience of working within the international sector.
