Head of Lotteries and Gaming

The Head of Lotteries and Gaming will lead the charities Lotteries and Gaming team which has the goal of generating and inspiring support from both new and existing supporters.

Main Responsibilities:

• Develop a clear vision and strategy to deliver sustainable income growth within the Lotteries and Gaming channel.
• Drive and oversee all day-to-day activity around lotteries and gaming, ensuring campaigns are effectively coordinated and that broader teams are enabled to support delivery
• Proactively find ways to increase the impact of the Lottery and Raffle income streams by developing and testing new approaches to player recruitment, retention and engagement
• Take ownership of and oversee day-to-day lottery administration processes
• Working with the Head of Supporter Services ensure an exceptional welcome experience for new supporters and work collaboratively to ensure that ongoing processes for thanking are effective 
• Manage external suppliers ensuring that expected quality and service levels are maintained whilst cultivating a culture of a mutually beneficial partnership. 
• Supported by the Executive Director of Individual Giving and Lotteries ensure compliance of the KSS lottery activities against the charities Gambling Commission license conditions
• Ensure that the operations of the entire income stream, including those delivered by external parties, adhere to guidance and legislation set out by associated regulatory bodies. This includes but is not limited to the Gambling Commission, Charity Commission, Fundraising Regulator and Chartered Institute of Fundraising best practice guidelines
• Partner with colleagues within the broader Income Generation and Marketing and Communications Teams to ensure consistency of the charity’s brand and message within the department’s activities.

About you:

• Experience of delivering income growth within Individual Giving through prize led fundraising, whilst delivering excellent service to all donors.
• Practical experience collecting and using data to monitor campaigns and make evidence-based recommendations
• Experience of using databases to input, update and extract supporter or customer data
• Experience of leading and managing teams, and motivating, and developing team members.
• Demonstrable knowledge of implementing successful Lotteries and Gaming strategies, processes and campaigns.

The Head of Project Development is a new and pivotal role within the organisation that will bridge the gap between our fundraising efforts and the development and implementation of projects. This strategic position is focused on developing new projects based on clear evidence of need and alignment with PCR’s mission and priorities, as well as enhancing the case for existing projects. The role will work in collaboration with the delivery and partnerships team to develop cases for support and secure substantial funding to ensure we can continue to expand and deliver impactful, sustainable projects. Key Responsibilities 

• Project Development and Management: Spearhead the development of new projects and work alongside fundraising to develop bids to support existing initiatives, ensuring alignment with PCR’s strategic goals and funding opportunities. 

• Fundraising Support: Collaborate closely with the fundraising team to identify and secure funding from large statutory sources, including but not limited to the likes of the National Lottery Community Fund, NHS, NIHR, and Sports England.

Purpose of the position

We’re looking for an experienced prospect researcher with strong analytical skills and an excellent knowledge of the global philanthropic space to join our Private Sector Fundraising team. You will be joining a growing major gifts programme with ambitious goals and a strong new business focus.

You will have prospect research experience in a global health, scientific or medical non-profit setting, and the ability to move comfortably between the worlds of research and philanthropy and to identify opportunities beyond the obvious.

The successful candidate will develop and implement an effective prospect research strategy supporting DNDi’s philanthropic ambitions, identifying new leads from foundations, philanthropists, trusts and companies, philanthropy collaboratives and funding calls. The role also involves setting up and socialising knowledge capture systems eg utilising Salesforce and communicating on good practice to other colleagues.

Specific Job Responsibilities

1. Strategy and planning:

· Assist in developing a proactive and growth-focused prospect research strategy that aligns with DNDi's fundraising plans and strategic priorities.

· Develop and socialise processes and procedures relating to prospect research.

· Contribute to developing a visibility strategy for DNDi through the identification and tracking of prizes and relevant philanthropic and global health conferences.

2. Prospect identification:

· Identify and qualify prospective donors by cross-referencing information from our supporter database, external databases, funding calls, media sources, and biographical references.

· Conduct in-depth research on prospective donors and contacts.

· Build, track, and report on prospective donors for various funding priorities, ensuring they meet fundraising ambitions.

· Develop strong relationships internally, promoting the effective use of research information.

3. Prospect management:

· Make data-driven recommendations to support the cultivation of new prospects and the management of key donor relationships.

· Ensure fundraisers have dynamic prospect portfolios optimized to meet fundraising targets.

4. Communication and internal capacity building:

· Present research results through written reports and presentations for various audiences.

· Input and maintain accurate information in Salesforce to support ongoing relationships and work with relevant team members on the systemization of knowledge capture, pipeline reporting and prospect ranking systems in Salesforce.

· Conduct ethical screening and due diligence research on prospects and donors to ensure compliance with DNDi's policies.

· Ensure compliance with data protection regulations in relation to data processing and use of prospect management tools.

6. Resourcing:

· Manage relationships with relevant external suppliers, including contractual and budgetary aspects, and oversee the use of prospect management tools.

· Monitor expenditure related to prospect research resources and make recommendations for resource optimization.

Job Description  

This is a great time to join PCR’s Events & Community team as we expand the team off the back of raising over £1.3m (against a target of £800k) in 2023-24. We’ve had a really successful year with good results across our portfolio, so we’re excited to be recruiting a brand-new role to focus on PCR’s bespoke events and finding the successful events of the future! 

We are therefore looking for a proactive team player to join us and lead the innovation and delivery of our programme of PCR-owned fundraising events. This will include our flagship challenge Snowdonia for Science, as well as leading product development of new challenge, community fundraising and special event propositions. The Bespoke Events Manager will also work with colleagues across the organisation to support other strategic and stewardship events.

The position reports to the Head of Events & Community, and will line manage one Events & Community Officer. Collaboration will be a big part of the role, especially with the Virtual & Challenge Events Manager (VCM) who leads our virtual fundraising and third-party challenge events. 

Key Responsibilities 

As Bespoke Events Manager, we would be very keen to work with you to develop and shape this into an exciting and meaningful role for you. We prioritise our team member's development, and there will be a percentage of time available to work on other areas of the portfolio for development and interest. However, your main focus would be;

Project Management 

• Project manage PCR's flagship challenge, Snowdonia For Science. An amazing community event now enering its 16th year and forcast to raise £100k in 2024. This event is well-established but with plenty of room for you to make your mark, grow and improve the event. 
• Project manage new events and community products as they are developed and tested, including end-to-end planning and delivery
• Design and deliver ambitious fundraising budgets for your projects which contribute net income towards PCR's lifesaving mission. 
• Create good relationships with suppliers, venues, agencies and consultants to ensure great value.
• Lead the stewardship of fundraisers taking part in your events, boosting income and using feedback to continually develop positive journeys, experiences and opportunities for supporters 
• Alongside the Head of Events & Community and others, support the development and delivery of other events, including high value fundraising and stewardship events, and plans for a conference style event in collaboration with PCR's Research & Comms and Patient Projects teams. 

Product development and innovation 

• As a key part of the role, you’ll spend a good proportion of your time developing and testing new fundraising propositions, taking a test & learn approach. For this, there are realistic budgets and an understanding of the investment needed to try new ideas. 
• Product development will include special event product testing and at least one new community fundraising product in 2024-25. 
• Maintain a good level of understanding of PCR’s existing (and target) supporters in order to create and implement products and stewardship that motivate and inspire them. 
• Alongside the Head of E&C and the VCM, embed a culture of innovation and supporter insight in the team. 
• Proactively collaborate internally, working with other teams to identify opportunities for new events, activities and stewardship journeys that meet Prostate Cancer Research’s objectives. 

Team leadership 

• Line manage one Events & Community Officer, overseeing their work, guiding them to improve & innovate in their role, and supporting their professional development.
• Work closely with the Head of E&C and the VCM on team strategy, capacity planning and ways of working.
• Alongside the VCM, take a lead role on developing processes and infrastructure across the team including for stewardship, content, data and compliance. 
• Attend and contribute to meetings, sharing new ideas and learnings that might be useful for the wider team.
• Work with the Head of E&C and the VCM to embed and model PCR’s organisational values in the Events. Our values include: innovation, collaboration, accountability and championing the patient voice. 

As with everyone in the Public Fundraising team, the Bespoke Events Manager may also get in involved with other projects and tasks as appropriate to support all our activities.

We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and driven Senior Corporate Partnerships Executive to join our team in this integral and newly created role. The role will lead on identifying and securing collaboration and funding opportunities with both existing and prospective partners, and developing and managing a pipeline of strategic corporate partners that align with PCR’s mission and core programmes of work. We are looking for someone with demonstrable experience of developing and nurturing relationships with corporate partners, understanding complex issues and working with others to identify solutions, and producing compelling funding proposals in support of this work.

Key responsibilities:

· Identify and nurture relationships with prospective corporate partners aligned with the mission and values of PCR.

· Develop and implement comprehensive partnership strategies to engage existing and prospective corporate partners.

· Work closely with PCR's delivery departments and other income streams to identify, develop and maximise income generation opportunities.

· Collaborate with internal stakeholders to create compelling funding proposals and presentations tailored to the needs and objectives of corporate partners.

· Lead negotiations and secure funding support from corporate partners for activities aligned with PCR’s programmes of work.

· Effectively manage project monitoring and reporting for PCR’s existing funded activities with corporate partners, including regular communication, reporting, and public recognition of contributions (as appropriate), working closely with PCR’s delivery and communications teams.

· Stay informed of industry trends, corporate philanthropy initiatives, and relevant developments to inform partnership strategies and opportunities.

As a Senior Events Manager you will:

• Line manage the Community and Events Executive
• Engage with local and large businesses and corporate bodies to actively engage them with challenge and community events
• Organise and secure sponsorship for special events such as the annual Gala Dinner, Supporters Thank You Evening, Christmas Carol Concert

Key responsibilities include:

• Inspiring and educating BHF staff, volunteers and the public about our ground-breaking research. 
• Sourcing and developing research stories and content for our fundraising and marketing campaigns and activities. 
• Leading internal communication initiatives to deepen understanding, empowering colleagues to become research champions.
• Creating engaging resources that make our research come alive, with focus on creating resources for events. 
• Running engagement activities that connect our research with communities and colleagues.

You’ll directly contribute to our marketing and fundraising efforts, ensuring that our lifesaving research inspires support and generates income for BHF.

Working arrangements 

This is a 12 month fixed term contact covering family leave.

This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London Office (NW1 7AW). 

At the BHF we believe in the power of being together, so our colleagues on blended contracts can expect to spend some time in their office, at least one day each week, on average. The use of our office spaces is driven in part by your role and the activities you need to do. About The Role

This is an incredibly exciting, high-impact role within the organisation. As Head of Fundraising you will be part of the Senior Leadership Team and our key fundraiser, critical fundraising strategist and have the scope to influence and shape our programmes.

You have a broad and well-established funder base to jump off from and will have the opportunity to bring in exciting new funders as more environmentally focused grant givers are starting to embrace diet change as a key tool for tackling the climate crisis.

We are looking for someone who can build on the relationships and initiatives developed over the last few years, to ensure Made In Hackney can fulfil its strategic goals and meet our annual income target. You will be instrumental in driving income development and in leading fundraising initiatives with an emphasis on Trusts and Foundations, individual giving, major gift fundraising, corporate giving and statutory bodies such. You will nurture key relationships with existing donors and potential new supporters and build and manage a robust pipeline of supporters.

Responsibilities include:

Leadership, Strategy and Governance

• To be an active member of the Made in Hackney Senior Leadership Team, working together to galvanise the organisation behind our strategic plan.
• To contribute to strategic discussions on the future direction of the organisation.
• To participate and / or lead in team meetings as appropriate.
• To act as the lead staff team representative on the Strategy and Fundraising Board Sub-committee, actively contributing and working with Trustees, as well as attending Board meetings.
• To participate in organisational budget planning and monitoring meetings.

Fundraising and Development

• To co-design and write grant applications and secure grant funding from Trusts, Foundations or Corporate entities in line with our annual target (likely to be in the range of £400k-£500k).
• To work with the Partnerships Manager to secure Fundraising income from individual givers, major donors, Crowdfunding campaigns and other fundraising initiatives in line with our annual target (likely to be in the range of £200k).
• To develop and execute an annual fundraising strategy: building a sustainable portfolio consisting of grants and donations from individuals, corporates, trusts and foundations, to ensure long-term sustainable funding of activities.
• To research and prospect future funders.
• To maintain precise and up-to-date records on current and potential supporters and prospects.
• To create engaging fundraising communication tools.
• To establish partnerships for joint programmes and funding bids where beneficial.

Donor stewardship & reporting

• To retain current donors and maximise fundraising opportunities, including delivering a programme of appropriate stewardship opportunities with the core team.
• To work with the team to co-design programmes and their evaluation requirements to ensure the organisation meets the grant funders' requirements. 
• To complete reporting to grant funders, including developing report templates, creating reports, case studies, and other administrative requirements. 

Communications

• To input into MIH’S communications strategy and the planning and implementation of improvements to marketing plans, digital presence and social media strategy to ensure impact and fundraising successes are communicated
• To maintain a stock of impact-focused case studies and success stories and ensure fundraising successes are communicated on social media and online.
• To ensure the robust monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of fundraising strategies and campaigns; providing key input to the annual report and impact report.
• To coordinate fundraising events with the Community Partnerships Manager. 

Line Management

• To have direct line management responsibility for the Community Partnerships Manager and Social Media & Marketing Manager, creating a supportive environment for growth and development.

Baby Lifeline is a highly respected national charity whose mission is to ensure the healthiest and best outcomes possible from pregnancy and birth.

Founded over 40 years ago by Judy Ledger following the personal tragedy of losing three premature babies, we have since purchased many million pounds’ worth of equipment for maternity and neonatal units, produced nationally recognised reports and research projects, staged highly successful annual UK maternity safety conferences, and provided evidence-based, multi-professional training to reduce avoidable harm and death in maternity. Training is provided through Baby Lifeline Training Ltd, a not-for-profit social enterprise. Head of Communications & Marketing

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Baby Lifeline as Head of Communications and Marketing. You will play a critical role in supporting Baby Lifeline to deliver its important mission, leading the development and delivery of our strategic communications and marketing plan. Together, these will grow awareness of and engagement with our brand and increase donations.

Head of Communications and Marketing Responsibilities:

· Providing strategic communications and marketing counsel to the Chief Executive

· Devising results-driven marketing campaigns to grow our audience and drive charity donations and fundraising

· Devising creative media engagement strategies, leading on proactive and reactive media relations including press releases, statements, interviews, and enquiries

· Building relationships with relevant professionals and experts within healthcare, to help drive sign-ups to events and training
