We are looking for an interim Capital Campaign Officer - Individual Major Gifts, for a 12 month maternity cover contract with a highly respected Global Environmental Charity. The focus of the role will be to manage a portfolio of donors and new prospects, making asks and securing six and seven figure gifts.
This is hybrid role based in London offering flexible working.

The Role
Manage a portfolio of donors and new prospects, making asks and securing six and seven figure gifts.
Build robust and dynamic relationships with supporters, both personally and with the wider organisation
Develop and deliver bespoke cultivation strategies for donors and prospects to maximise their giving.
Make face-to-face, telephone and written asks for support according to what will maximise the gift for each donor.
Identify areas that are most likely to engage donors and prospects according to their particular areas of interest or motivations.
The Candidate
Experience of working within major gift fundraising, including closing significant gifts.
Experiencing of managing a mixed portfolio of donors and prospects.
An understanding of the principles of relationship fundraising/stewardship
Either experience of working on a major capital campaign, or of working within a complex global organisation.

Working within a sub-team of three including a Prospect Research Manager and the Senior Major Donor Manager, this role will have great support and work with the team to grow the major donor portfolio and achieve a team target. To be successful as the Major Donor Manager you will have proven experience in building and securing relationships with high-net-worth-individuals. This person will have secured relationships of either a four, five or six figure level. This role is a full-time permanent position that will have hybrid working in the London offices. The salary for this role is £41,000 to £45,000.

The Role

Pact is a successful national charity that provides life changing and lifesaving care for men, women and young people in custody, those with criminal convictions in the community and their children, family members and carers.
In this newly created role, the Senior Manager (Major Gifts) will provide strong stewardship of existing relationships of mid value and major donors, support and cultivate interest in Pact’s programmes and unrestricted giving and take responsibility for identifying and developing new major gifts from individuals and family trusts. In addition, you will strengthen and develop the legacy strategy and offer to existing and new individual supporter.
This is a senior, strategic role within Pact and you will have
- A proven track record and specialism in either legacy or major donor giving, and the autonomy to raise funds from individuals, including HNWIs and to lead on this area within a charity.
- Experience of researching and cultivating individuals including HNWIs and family trusts to secure financial support.
- Strong interpersonal skills, talented at building relationships and trust, and able to inspire long term commitment.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly convey concepts and inspire a wide range of people through written & verbal channels, with the ability to build a case for support.
- Strong literacy, numeracy and budgeting skills and be capable of writing effective proposals, and reports. Experience of using Salesforce is desirable but not essential.
Originally the Catholic Prisoners Aid Society, founded in 1898, Pact has a largely Catholic supporter base, with warm and committed relationships with a wide range of Catholic and other Christian stakeholders. Bookmark began life just over five years ago with a clear mission; they want every child to read. Currently more than one in four children are leaving primary school unable to read well. About the role
As the Senior Philanthropy Lead at Bookmark, you will work with the Head of Fundraising to manage and grow our philanthropy portfolio within the wider strategy. You will lead a team of three to deliver on the fundraising strategy, line managing both the Philanthropy Manager and Senior Fundraising Executive. Your role will involve proactively researching and identifying new potential Bookmark major donors and working with trustees, staff, and the Partnerships Board to build a robust pipeline of supporters and secure introductions.
You will own and build a portfolio of new major donors through the full donor cycle who give £25,000 or more, ensuring a first-class cultivation and stewardship journey. You will create compelling, relevant, and tailored funding proposals, reports, and collateral to inspire and inform donors, reflecting Bookmark's strong brand. You will lead on the Philanthropy events strategy and program, providing support to the Philanthropy Manager and wider team in delivering income-generating, cultivation, and stewardship events.
In addition, you will work closely with the Corporate Partnerships team to ensure opportunities to maximize income for the fundraising team. You will devise and deliver annual plans, together with associated budgets, in line with the charity's strategic objectives. You will use Salesforce to manage the accurate recording and forecasting of major donor income, enabling efficient reporting and KPI management.
About you
To be successful in this role, you must have a successful track record in high-value fundraising and acquisition, including a proven track record of securing five or six-figure gifts to meet or exceed targets. You must have experience line managing individuals, nurturing their development, and managing their performance to achieve results. Ideally, you will have experience developing and managing a calendar of successful charity events that meet fundraising targets and managing or working with a fundraising board or high-value committee. You should have the skills to influence, motivate and persuade people to donate and experience writing successful, inspiring, emotive, and technically accurate cases for support and proposals tailored to a major donor audience.
You should be experienced in growing and managing a pipeline, planning for your portfolio, and increasing income.

About the role
The Corporate Partnerships team is evolving at pace, securing some seriously exciting and impactful partnerships over the past 2 years.
This is a brand-new role, part of growth plans and big investment in fundraising. You'll have oversight of the new business pipeline and act as resident expert for external opportunities. You're ambitious in vision and scope, feeling confident to develop strategic multi-year partnerships from scratch.
There's a big focus on the interplay between internal and external stakeholders. Working strategically to really get under the skin of organisational strategy and showcase the case for support; then leveraging both to maximum effect with prospective partners.
About you

- A proven new business track-record developing partnerships with commercial and corporate organisations across multiple sectors, ideally operating at six and seven figures.
- Exceptional networking, communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to navigate complex organisations and their often-sensitive needs and agreements.
- Team player who builds trust and gains buy in from internal and external stakeholders alike.
- Confident people manager, fostering a culture of celebration and high-performance, whilst also balancing and prioritising staff wellbeing.

You'll have oversight of the high value corporate offer, acting as resident expert on the needs of high value external stakeholders. Through exceptional account management and stewardship, you'll focus on securing and retaining relationships with multi-year, multi-million pound partners.
There's a bold organisational ambition is to secure two new high value accounts (£5 million+), so you'll work closely with new business colleagues to develop the products and services to make this a reality.
The scope and scale of the offer and case for support is primed and ready to go - we just need a superstar to present the proposition to the right partners. You'll take on the account management of existing partnerships with Aviva and National Grid, proactively building awareness internally and externally to showcase and celebrate success.
About you

- A proven track-record account managing high value relationships with commercial and corporate organisations across multiple sectors, ideally operating at seven figures+.
- Exceptional networking, communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to navigate complex organisations and their often-sensitive needs and agreements.
- Team player who builds trust and gains buy in from internal and external stakeholders alike, working with colleagues - nationally and locally - to ensure partnerships deliver against objectives and budgets.
- Manage emerging risks and challenges, ensuring the organisation's reputation is protected and promoted.
