War Child believes that children’s lives should not be torn apart by war. It is the only specialist charity for children affected by conflict, with four main areas of work: protecting children, educating children, supporting communities and campaigning.
The charity are renowned for their creative, innovative and entrepreneurial approach, with strong connections to the gaming, music and creative industries. In 2021, the charity supported over 140,000 children and adults – making it one of their strongest years ever.
It’s an exciting time to join War Child as they have recently launched their new Alliance initiative. The War Child Alliance brings together the five War Child fundraising members (in the Netherlands, UK, Germany and Sweden, plus Children in Conflict in the US), with 14 programme members, based in and around conflict-affected areas across the world and coordinated by a new international body: the War Child Alliance Foundation. Through the Alliance they are integrating programme activities under one umbrella – allowing War Child to combine strengths and pool resources – all with the aim to multiply impact for conflict-affected children.
As part of the Trusts and Institutional funding team of four you’ll work alongside the Head of Trusts and Institutional, Trusts Manager, Trusts Executive and be line managed by the new Trusts and Institutional Funding Lead. Your key objective is to provide operational, administrative, and analytical support to the team to grow income and enable War Child to deliver quality programmes, by ensuring compliance with quality and donor requirements, contributing to effective risk management, providing support for the different donor accounts and ensuring processes and systems are in place, implemented and efficient. The role requires proactive collaboration with cross-functional teams, excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and strong communication skills.
As Trusts and Institutional Funding Executive, you will:
- Develop donor profiles by conducting research on potential donors, including their funding focus, giving history, and connections to War Child
- Plan and prepare meetings with donors by collaborating with senior colleagues and stakeholders to determine strategic objectives and key messages
- Monitor and share potential funding opportunities with the relevant Donor Account Managers within the Trusts and Institutional Funding team
- Support the implementation of internal grant management processes
Ideal skills and experience:
- Experience of fundraising for an international development organisation
- An excellent verbal communicator, confident in dealing with people at all levels, externally and internally, with the ability to influence and negotiate
- Interested and knowledgeable in current developments and trends in the international aid sector

About the role
The Donor Relations Officer is a key role within the Development Office at the University of London. You will be responsible for developing and implementing a best practice programme of stewardship, donor engagement and recognition for the University of London’s donors, ensuring sustainability and growth of the donor base. This work involves creating a rewarding donor experience and managing donor communications, organising high-level donor stewardship activities and coordinating fundraising activities to support the mission and goals of the University.
Who are we looking for?
You will come experienced in delivering a successful programme of stewardship, in the charity or higher education sectors, and a working knowledge and experience of handling confidential information. We need someone with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with high profile individuals, and thus excellent communication skills in terms of written and spoken English is needed. You will have excellent relationship management skills, including the ability to work closely and collegiately with colleagues as part of a team and across a wider organisation. Experience of building and managing mutually beneficial partnerships and networks, both internally and externally, to create opportunities for the University, is also sought. As is an ability to deal effectively with staff at all levels, demonstrating discretion and tact.

The University currently operates a Hybrid Working framework involving a mix of working remotely and in the office. Typically, the majority of employees will be able to agree to work remotely for up to 60% of their working week, role dependent, however will be required to attend on specific days for training or team meetings.

Marie Curie is looking for a Community Fundraser to cover the North London area. (additional £3,500 pa LLW)
To ensure they can continue supporting individuals and families in need of end-of-life care, the Fundraising team are incredibly important. Since the pandemic, fundraising at Marie Curie has been through a lot of change. However, the organisation recognises the importance of their activity within communities across the UK and community fundraising has been invested in. Our Community Fundraisers are the face of Marie Curie in their local communities, building relationships and networks with a wide and varied range of supporters. From local businesses to local fundraising groups and everyone in between. Reporting to the Head or Deputy Head of Region and working closely with some of the most talented fundraising people in the charity sector, your role will be to provide support and guidance to people who fundraise and volunteer for Marie Curie across our regions, helping them achieve their ambitions and ultimately raise vital funds for Marie Curie.
The Community Fundraiser role is one where you just don’t know what happens one week to the next as you never know who will choose to support Marie Curie in your community!
The role would suit someone who can be flexible and react in a calm, measured manner to whatever the day brings, who is excited by potential and is ambitious, and who can deliver a high standard of customer service (supporter stewardship) to everyone they meet.
Community Fundraisers are remote/hybrid based, with some presence expected at your local office or Hospice. It is expected that you will be based within or in close proximity to the region e.g. North London. For this role, the post holder will need to be willing to travel to Embassy Gardens (Embankment, SW11 7BW) occasionally. Due to the requirement to be London based, this post holder can choose if they opt to recieve an additional £3,500 LLW on top of the offered annual salary. If selected, the candidate will cover the cost of travel into Embassy Gardens themselves.
This isn’t a role where you will be behind a desk every day, a good Community Fundraiser has a willingness to be out and about within your region meeting and supporting fundraisers.

Versus Arthritis aims for a future free from arthritis. Currently 10m people - one in every six people (and one in every ten in the workplace) - in the UK are living with the condition, affecting young and old, with half experiencing daily pain and inflammation.
Versus Arthritis tackles this holistically - they have services caring and providing advice for those living with arthritis and their carers, they campaign to ensure arthritis stays on the public agenda, and they research for a cure.
The corporate partnerships team is in a new phase of strategy. The incoming Corporate Fundraising Manager will focus primarily on new business in the first instance, building up new and exciting cases for support from their wealth of programmes, projects and services, and taking these to market. Over time, the role will shift more towards a 50-50 split between account management and new business.
The position will:
- Create a detailed prospect pipeline and development plans for all corporate and commercial relationships
- Provide new business expertise to drive the aims and objectives of Versus Arthritis
- Take responsibility for growing a portfolio of corporate partnerships - be they one-off gifts, multi-year grants or partnerships that deliver strategic impact
- Work cross-organisationally to ensure other teams are aware and bought into the work of the corporate partnership team
- Build and retain a network of contacts across the spectrum of corporate partnerships and the commercial world, which ensures you remain abreast of developments, ready to adopt new practices and are primed to capitalise on new opportunities
- Work closely with the Senior Manager on developing and implementing the corporate partnerships strategy
Ideal skills and experience:
- A strong understanding of and demonstrable track record of securing different types of corporate partnerships
- Experience of writing compelling proposals and preparing and delivering excellent presentations to external audiences
- Experience of identifying and securing partnerships in the commercial or charity sectors
- Highly driven, resilient and robust with ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Competitive with a hunger to win big strategic partnerships
- Experience of building excellent relationships internally and externally, with the demonstrable ability to win people’s support, bringing the cause to life and conveying the impact it has on people’s lives
- Demonstrable success in delivering fundraised income or commercial value through major partnerships
- Enthusiastic, creative, entrepreneurial and flexible, with a track record of thinking differently
