We are looking for a Legacy and In Memory Lead for an incredible hospice, to be responsible for managing the implementation of the legacy (gifts in Wills) and in memory strategies and developing annual delivery plans.

This is a Hybrid role with 4 days a week in the Essex office.

The Role
Lead the delivery of planned activities and promotion of legacy and in memory fundraising products to achieve budget net income and grow the active support base.

Work closely with the Marketing team to develop on and offline marketing materials for legacy and in memory fundraising activities.

Support with line management of the Supporter Care Assistant where necessary.

The Candidate
Significant demonstrable and relevant experience of in memory and/or legacy fundraising.

Experience of developing and promoting in memory and/or legacy fundraising products.

Experience of using a variety of on- and offline channels to deliver successful marketing campaigns to acquire and develop donors / customers.

Experience of managing income and expenditure budgets.

What the Major Gifts Officer will do:

• This role will be mostly focused on growing and maintaining a portfolio of low-level prospects and donors (c. 4- and 5-figure gifts) though targeted approaches and high-quality written applications.
• In addition to soliciting gifts for two capital projects, the role will also identify funding opportunities for other projects.
• Provide support to the Senior Stewardship Manager with stewardship activity, as well as Senior Major Gifts Fundraisers with major funding proposals where required.

Ideally the Major Gifts Officer will have experience of:

• Experience of working in fundraising for a charitable organisation with a proven ability of securing 4- or 5- figure+ gifts
• Excellent writing skills to produce high-quality applications and proposals and other fundraising communications
• The ability to identify new funding streams and generate and convert leads into gifts
• The ability to manage a high-volume pipeline of donors/prospects, while ensuring the CRM data on the pipeline is accurate and up-to-date

About the role:

As Trust Fundraiser, you'll be primarily focussed on raising funds through trusts and foundations to help CHUF deliver their ambitious 2024-27 fundraising strategy. A good chunk of this will be project based. You'll also be part of the CHUF fundraising team, so you'll be getting involved with all income generating activities. This will include assisting in the delivery of CHUF's in Memory Giving strategy through maintaining donors and providing fantastic stewardship. You'll also help the Director of Fundraising to achieve CHUF's legacy strategy by maximising income generation through gifts in wills. First and foremost, you'll be a CHUF Fundraiser; making sure supporters receive first-class supporter care.

The Role
Identify, cultivate, and secure partnerships with corporates, meeting and exceeding income targets.

Craft compelling partnership proposals and presentations, tailored to meet the interests and objectives of potential corporate partners.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with a portfolio of corporate partners, ensuring effective stewardship and partnership management.

Collaborate with colleagues from other departments and external partners to increase the likelihood of identifying and maximising partnership opportunities.

Provide training and ongoing support to develop junior members of the fundraising, communications and marketing directorate.

The Candidate
Proven track record in establishing, developing, and maintaining corporate partnerships, ideally within the non-profit sector.

Demonstrated success in exceeding income targets and successfully delivering projects on time and on budget.

Ability to create compelling partnership proposals and presentations.

Strong financial management skills.
