As Centre Fundraising Manager, you will be responsible for effectively and autonomously managing the full portfolio of activity relating to the centre and to manage complex networks and relationships which have a wider national focus.
You will be responsible for fundraising across a range of income streams including businesses, individuals, community groups, volunteers and media contacts.
There will be a requirement to work irregular hours as well as occasional overnight stays and UK travel.

What You’ll Be Doing
As our Individual Giving Assistant – Supporter Retention & Development, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our fundraising campaigns and projects, helping to retain and maximise the lifetime value of our supporters. The role:
We’re looking for a self-motivated, driven Individual Giving Legacy Fundraiser to lead and grow income from the Individual Giving portfolio by driving acquisition of new individual and mid-level donors, elevating end to end donor interactions and deepening relationships with existing supporters. You will be proactive in using data insights to inform campaign targeting, mid donor level strategy as well as monitoring agreed kpis.
A key focus is to grow Regular Giving through the development of compelling supporter packages and upgrade pathways, while also advancing legacy giving through targeted messaging and initiatives that build a sustainable pipeline of pledges and gifts for the future.
What You Will Do
Strategic Planning
- Develop and implement a growth strategy for Regular Giving, including acquisition, retention, upgrade pathways, and mid-level donor development.
- Lead on the development and effective delivery of legacy messaging across channels, ensuring consistent and inspiring communication that builds awareness and drives pledges.
- Support strategic planning for Trusts & Grants, In Memory Giving, and Legacy awareness, ensuring alignment with overall fundraising goals.
Campaign & Product Delivery
- Lead the creation and delivery of Regular Giving and mid-level donor products, campaigns, and donor journeys.
- Develop and promote legacy giving initiatives, including Make a Will Month, seasonal appeals, and messaging that builds a pipeline of legacy pledges and gifts.
- Work with external suppliers (e.g. creative agencies, mailing houses) and internal teams to deliver high-quality assets and campaigns.
Collaboration & Support
- Work closely with Marketing, Supporter Engagement, Commercial Insights and Finance teams to ensure integrated delivery and maximise supporter value and retention.
- Support fundraising events and initiatives as needed.

The Head of Fundraising and Communications will lead the development and delivery of a systematic, data-driven, and project-managed approach to fundraising and communications — driving sustainable income growth and raising the charity’s profile and influence.
This role is first and foremost a fundraising leadership role. As the charity’s strategic lead for fundraising, they will shape and expand our income streams, strengthen systems and processes, and build a high-performing team to help us reach more young people with our vital work. Fundraising

We are seeking a Trusts Fundraising Officer to join our ambitious trusts and foundations team, supporting delivery of the trusts fundraising plan and maximising grant income. The successful candidate will contribute to developing compelling proposals to secure funding, provide excellent stewardship of donors to build long term relationships, and research new trust prospects.
Proven experience of successful trusts fundraising is essential, and the candidate will need to be proactive, naturally well organised, with the ability to craft powerful cases for support. An understanding of fundraising from trusts for medical research causes is desirable.
You will support the Head of Trusts Fundraising in maximising income from charitable trusts and foundations to meet and exceed financial targets; identifying new trusts and increasing the number and value of gifts.
Main tasks and Responsibilities
1. To support the Head of Trusts Fundraising in implementing the three-year strategic plan for Trust Fundraising, and in delivering an effective annual plan and budget that will enable Action Medical Research to maximise income from charitable trusts and foundations.
2. To develop and manage excellent relationships with existing and potential donors, particularly small and medium trusts.
3. To liaise with the Research department to identify appropriate projects to present to potential donors and to manage and report on restricted donations for specific medical research projects
4. To regularly research and monitor new target trusts building a strong pipeline of prospects.
5. To develop and write compelling and persuasive proposals to present to prospects and donors.
6. To ensure that trusts that have made restricted donations are kept appropriately informed of progress against the research work which they are funding and, in the longer term, of the impact that their support has achieved.
7. To manage allocated charity partnerships where co-funding medical research, agreeing trusts which may be individually or jointly approached, raising invoices and reporting at agreed intervals.
8. To ensure continuing dialogue with trusts which have the potential to support our work in the future.
9. To ensure that Raisers Edge and the grant link schedule are kept up to date.
10. To work with Supporter Care to ensure timely notice of donations to enable the Trusts team to give speedy appreciation of support.
11. To work with colleagues across the charity, and other external stakeholders, to advocate for trust fundraising, identify opportunities and support colleagues in overlapping fundraising objectives.
12. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of Action Medical Research, the principles governing the funding of research and the projects being funded.
13. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the trust marketplace and competitive influences on it.
14. Keep the Head of Trusts Fundraising fully informed of activities at all times and work closely with the Trusts Fundraising Officer.

The Role
The Trusts and Grants Manager will play a vital role in the next chapter of MAP’s development. You will work closely with the Project Directors to identify and implement funding opportunities in line with strategic objectives and targets. The main duties will include:
- Generating income from trusts and foundations to meet set targets
- Preparing and submitting grant applications to trusts, foundations and corporate funders
- Maintaining and developing a funding pipeline
- Stewarding supporters and preparing timely delivery and outcome reports
- Collaborating with the management team, volunteers, partners and a skilled board of trustees to maximise fundraising initiatives.
The Person
We are looking for an experienced and creative Trusts and Grants Manager, with a proven track record in bid writing and donor cultivation. You should be able to demonstrate your experience in meeting income targets, and in securing gifts of five figures and above from trusts, foundations or the public sector.
You must have exceptional written and spoken communication skills, with the confidence to represent MAP at networking events across the region. As well as the ability to prioritise multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, an ability to use AI to support fundraising activity would also be advantageous.

We are currently finalising our next Forward Plan, with an ambition to create an inclusive, vibrant community, committed to everyone having a fair chance to discover who they are and what they can become. We currently work with children and young people aged 5 to 30.
Our priority programmes include support coaching for young people, community activity sessions, sustaining our accommodation provision for vulnerable young adults and establishing how we can best support more young people on the homelessness pathway. We have some great spaces that are in need of development, and we expect that both capital and revenue funding will be included in your workload. We also look for smaller grants during the course of the year, including for food for our residents and supplies for our art groups, and we hope to recruit volunteers to assist with some elements of this work.
The core of your role will be in generating funds from trusts and individual giving, with other fundraising and communications tasks included as time permits.

- To create and update cases for support for YMCA Doncaster’s fundable projects and general running costs.
- To be responsible for an assigned portfolio of trusts, foundations and similar, developing knowledge of, and relationships with, those funders.
- To make strong applications to funders within the assigned portfolio, matching YMCA Doncaster’s agreed cases for support with funders’ interests and requirements.
- To create, publicise and monitor outcomes of giving campaigns and / or fundraising events.
- To nurture key external stakeholders including potential supporters from the local business community, the media and others as appropriate.

Prospect Research:

Leadership & Relationship Management:
- Lead and manage the Trusts and Philanthropy Executive by developing skills, conducting appraisals and overseeing ongoing development.
- Lead & steward a portfolio of existing charitable trusts and foundations, and cultivate new potential donors, ensuring their support is recognised and celebrated.
- Ensure funders are thanked promptly and that grant terms and conditions are applied.
- Provide progress reports and manage all formal reporting requirements on time.
- Build relationships in person, by phone, email, or virtual meetings to secure long-term commitment.
- Identify opportunities for funders to meet key staff and attend events and site visits that strengthen their relationship with the charity.
- Implement the High Value Donor Stewardship Plan.
- Take a proactive role in developing assets such as appeals and cultivation events.
- Work with colleagues across the charity to monitor and evaluate funded projects, producing reports that demonstrate impact.
Administration and Reporting:
- Manage trust prospects and donors on the CRM database, ensuring records are accurate and compliant with fundraising regulations.
- Budget management, cost control forecasting and taking corrective action to achieve budgets.
- Use the CRM database to manage task “actions”, prioritise and evaluate opportunities, and record funder interactions.
- Manage and develop a portfolio of high value relationships.
- Liaise with colleagues to ensure grant applications are coordinated across the organisation.
Education & Qualifications:
- Educated to GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths
- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
Experience:
- Significant experience and track record in trust fundraising.
- Experience of writing compelling proposals and appeals.
- Proven experience of working as part of a team to deliver ambitious income targets.
- Experience in undertaking prospect research and creating a pipeline of prospects through to cultivation, ask and stewardship.
- Experience of securing and managing statutory funding desirable.
- Demonstrable experience of using fundraising or relationship management databases.
