As Assistant Director of Philanthropy & Strategic Partnerships, you will help shape the future of our national work and support our federation of 170+ local Home-Starts working in communities across the UK. You will lead a talented team, build long-lasting relationships, and help make sure Home-Start has the funding, partnerships, and influence it needs to give every child the best possible start in life. This role will suit someone who is motivated by purpose, who values people and relationships, and who is comfortable working across a large and varied network.

We are looking for someone with a strong track record, someone who has already delivered high-value fundraising and partnerships at a senior level and is ready to take on a role with significant national influence. With responsibility for an annual income portfolio of circa £4 Million – with strong potential to grow this over the next 3-5 years to between £6Million-£8Million plus, you will work with a supportive Leadership Team and Board, who have already engaged external philanthropy expertise to develop a strategy and roadmap that you can build on. You’ll need to be confident working with high-value supporters: able to build trust, communicate clearly, and nurture long-term relationships with people who want to invest in families and early years support. You’ll bring the skills and confidence to grow a portfolio that is already strong and take it further, along with the ability to work well with others in a fast-moving environment.

The Finance team provides finance and budgeting support to staff, managers and members of PCS. The department is about to embark on a digital transformation that will modernise how the Finance department operates for the Union. 1.People Management

• Manage work allocation and workflow, future planning and support for Finance Team and Director of Central Services

6. Group and Branch Funding

• Oversee PCS work with Special Member Auditors to ensure the completion of union group and branch audit procedures in line with rules and Finance Committee requirements
• Provide assistance to group and branch treasurers, including training courses
• Provide reports as required for the Finance Committee
• Ensure expenses are paid in line with Service Level Agreement requirements

7. Finance Training and good practice

• Participate in the dissemination of financial knowledge across the union. Organise and participate in periodic financial training programmes for budget-holders, treasurers and members

8. Communication

• Draft complex communications including briefs, reports, business cases, for internal and external stakeholders
• Draft papers, policies and regulations in relation to financial management
• Communicate with members by producing circulars and briefings, and by addressing meetings and conferences etc
• Represent PCS where necessary and liaise with outside professional bodies such as auditors
• Provide financial information as required by other areas of the Union, in particular treasurers, or other bodies

We’re looking for a compassionate, skilled Immigration Adviser to join our warm, dedicated team in Bournemouth. Our preference is for someone accredited at IAA Level 2 (or Level 3) in Immigration, as this will allow you to take on Level 2 immigration work from the outset.

We are also open to candidates with IAA asylum accreditation and experience, and depending on the successful candidate, we may explore developing elements of asylum work that can be undertaken without a legal aid contract. This would be shaped collaboratively with the person we recruit.

Employee Relations Advisor

We are seeking experienced Employee Relations Advisors to manage complex casework and support managers in a fast paced, people focused organisation.

Position: Employee Relations Advisor
Salary: £36,073 per annum dependant on experience
Location: Manchester, Trafford with hybrid working 20 to 40 percent office based
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent and Fixed Term Contract opportunities available

About the Role

This is an opportunity to join a busy and collaborative Employee Relations team, supporting managers across a diverse and multi-site organisation. Reporting to an Employee Relations Team Manager, you will play a key role in delivering a high quality HR service and ensuring fair and consistent outcomes across a broad range of employee relations matters.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing timely, high quality advice, guidance and coaching to managers on employee relations issues
• Managing a varied caseload including high volume and complex cases
• Taking ownership of cases from start to finish, ensuring accurate documentation and clear communication throughout
• Identifying trends and contributing to continuous improvement in employee relations practices
• Supporting the development of management capability through education and proactive guidance

About You

You will bring strong technical knowledge alongside the confidence to influence and support managers in a pragmatic and solutions focused way.

You will have:

• A solid understanding of employment law
• CIPD qualification or demonstrable experience as an Employee Relations Advisor
• Experience managing high volume and complex casework within a multi-site organisation
• The ability to translate business challenges into practical and compliant solutions
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively
• A proactive, collaborative approach with energy and enthusiasm for delivering an excellent service

As Shop Manager of Scope’s Lancaster shop, you’ll have the autonomy to run the shop with creativity and flair. Every day is different

In this role, you’ll lead a team of paid colleagues and volunteers, offering clear guidance, encouragement, and development. Using your experience and management skills, you’ll help grow sales while making sure every customer and donor enjoys a welcoming and inclusive shop experience. In this role you will:

· Ensure shop sales performance is maximised, actively seeking ways to improve the shop’s performance on a continuous basis.

· Manage all aspects of stock collection and preparation; ensuring that stock processing levels are sufficient to achieve required shop floor density, encouraging stock donations at all times. Also support our online selling with identifying suitable items and listing on online selling platforms

· Recruit, manage and develop paid colleagues and volunteers within Scope’s HR and operational policies and procedures and build a strong team

· Work collaboratively with the Assistant Shop Manager

About you

We’re looking for someone who has:

· Previous experience as either a Retail Shop Manager, Assistant Manager, or a Supervisor looking to step up, ideally in retail or charity shops.

· Commercially aware and able to spot opportunities

· Be able to lead and support people

· Customer-focused, with a can-do attitude

· A team player with strong work ethic

· Accurate and detail-oriented

· IT literate and numeracy skills

Shop Hours

Scope shops are open every day. Some weekend and Bank Holiday cover is needed.

Full-time: 35 hours per week, five days out of seven

Part-time: Weekly hours on a seven-day rota
