About You

You’ll play a key role in bringing events to life—from the moment they’re confirmed to the final wrap-up—working closely with clients and leading event-day staff with confidence and flair. What You Will Be Doing

• Supporting clients in event planning, including site visits, service bookings, invoicing, and gathering necessary documents and licenses.
• Ensuring alcohol license requirements are met and communicate final event details to clients.
• Maintaining detailed planning records and manage logistics, including booking staff and coordinating with internal teams.
• Writing and share event briefs, process staff invoices, and liaise with key departments such as kitchen, facilities, and church groups.
• Providing event-day support by working with Duty Managers, acting as emergency contact on a rota, and occasionally attending events to build client relationships.
• Completing post-event tasks, such as reporting issues and following up with clients.
• Covering for the Head of Venue and Events during absences and ensure compliance with venue regulations.
• Essential skills include strong customer service, communication, organisation, attention to detail, and confidence using Google Suite.
• Desirable skills include experience in events or hospitality, CRM familiarity, and understanding of sound, lighting, and visual requirements.

Job Summary

To drive development of CEM’s fundraising strategy and oversee its implementation. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Identifying the most fruitful new avenues of funding from a range of Christian cultures, including individual donors, trusts and grant-making bodies
• Identifying new fundraising methods, including digital campaigns and social media outreach, to broaden and diversify our donor base
• Strengthen connections with new networks to tap into underutilised funding streams.
• Running appeals and legacy campaigns
• Creating clear briefing materials for comms staff and senior teams to help them engage with donors at all levels — from small ad hoc donations to our largest grant-making partners. Ensuring that appropriate tailored approaches are used for different cultures and church traditions
• Co-manage the Communications Officer to produce emails, newsletters and other communications assets which effectively engage potential donors
• Work closely with our founder, Rico Tice, and our CEO, to help the CEM team grow supporter donations 
• Seek out and develop relationships with new high-capacity donors
• Tell the global story of CEM’s impact to inspire and mobilise a broader, more diverse donor community

Key duties and responsibilities

• Be accountable for increasing funding to CEM by an agreed amount each year. 
• Create a clear and effective fundraising strategy and communicate it well to the rest of the CEM team.
• Bring experience and best practice to CEM’s fundraising efforts, to help us build a culture of fundraising.
• Future-proof the organisation to build the foundation for secure long-term funding
• Oversee implementation of the fundraising strategy, including briefing comms staff and reviewing materials before they’re released.
• Support global hub Directors to develop sustainable in-country fundraising strategies, and be responsible for coordinating global fundraising efforts to ensure that all teams are working collaboratively.

Person specification

The Director of Fundraising will need to demonstrate a track record of success in increasing organisational funding — this is not a skillset CEM currently has and we will be relying on the successful candidate to bring a robust knowledge of best practice. We are looking for a strategic thinker who will bring clarity and simplicity to our fundraising efforts, targeting donors wisely and treating them with respect.

CEM is a very relational organisation which operates with a high level of consensus. While staff are not afraid of conflict, or of making clear decisions where there are differences of opinion, we expect team members to work hard to listen to each other and see the value and wisdom in different viewpoints.

Other office staff include those focused on operations and finance, as well as a small Development Team engaging with major donors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This role will allow you to make a real difference to the lives of millions of people in the Middle East and North Africa.  You will help to manage, maintain and increase income and engagement through the following key responsibilities:

·Work with the team to implement strategies for growing key areas of income and engagement with churches and individuals, maintaining prospect lists, communicating with churches to resource and increase engagement.

·To manage, motivate and support a diverse team in different geographical locations and working patterns.

·To assist with delivering the church partnership and media projects programme, inviting church leaders and churches to join, helping research, prepare and send project proposals, reports and associated resources.

·To analyse current church giving patterns and identify pathways to increase engagement, levels and forms of giving (including individual giving in conjunction with other team members).

·Support with high-level giving church relationships and work with the Engagement Officer to mobilise ambassadors and volunteers within churches to encourage prayer for the MENA and church giving.

·Oversee SAT-7’s presence at events and conferences to maximise opportunities for engagement and increased reach with existing and new supporters.

·To assist with identifying current and future engagement resources to inspire and mobilise supporter churches and wider opportunities with denominations and Christian networks.

·Lead regular one to ones and promote the process of SAT-7 UK’s personal development plans for team members throughout the year e.g. conducting appraisals and mid-year reviews.

The Project Manager/Business Analyst role forms part of the PMO Team. The role will include management of priority projects across the Stewardship agile change portfolio, as well as the analysis and improvement of business processes across Stewardship. In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

The Lead Coach is primarily responsible for overseeing the training room and group sessions with young people. You will help shape the training environment and will confidently adapt and deliver materials and sessions to work within the group’s development towards work readiness.

Delivery of Spear Programme - Group and 1:1 coaching [60%]

• Preparing and coaching Spear Foundation sessions and 1-1s, ensuring that young people are engaged, retained and work-ready by the end of this initial phase of the programme

The role is a key part of R&D senior management team. R&D seeks to inform, inspire and enable transformational front-line mission. The post-holder will be responsible for significant internal agendas including Ethics, Impact Measurement and develop strategic research university partnerships to promote evidence-based mission. They will be required to manage a significant portfolio of projects and contacts.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

• An extensive proven track record of utilising strong interpersonal and relational skills to lead a successful research team that supports the development, implementation and evaluation of high impact research initiatives, developing and training staff, and managing performance where required
• Proven track record of empowering and coaching team members to innovate, whilst leading by example, demonstrating clarity of thought and direction, drive and humility
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at a senior level, and ability to develop strong, successful, collaborative and influential working relationships at all levels of seniority within an organisation
• A research-based PhD (or equivalent qualification), and excellent proven practical research, analytical and project management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret stakeholders’ business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements, demonstrating creativity, agility and a solution-orientated approach.
• Practitioner understanding of participatory and theological research methods, ability to theologically reflect and discern, with a thorough understanding of research ethics.

Key Responsibilities

Relationship Management

• Develop and manage relationships with Resurgo’s major donors, asking for financial support at the right time.
• Create individual engagement and stewardship plans for existing major donors and new prospects, including in-person meetings, written updates and reports.
• Help to develop the mid-level giving programme by creating a stewardship plan and tailored written communication.

Prospects

• Develop and implement the prospecting strategy, attending networking 
  events, asking for introductions and being confident using LinkedIn to 
  look for new opportunities, identifying, researching and contacting 
  potential supporters.
• Work with the corporate teams to cross-sell opportunities; identify and 
  further engage high level individuals within businesses and vice versa. 

Events

• Assist with the planning and delivery of a variety of fundraising events, 
  working closely with the impact, communications and finance teams to 
  generate strong results.
• Help to develop and deliver new strategic events to further engage 
  major and mid-level donors with Resurgo’s work.

Financial Management

• Help to monitor the major donor pipeline, regularly reporting on income and progress against targets and help with financial management using a CRM (Salesforce).

The Spear Centre Manager will work as part of the River Church staff team to oversee the delivery of Spear—an employability programme equipping and empowering unemployed 16-24 year-olds to overcome barriers to employment and turn their lives around by moving into sustainable work or further education.

Key Responsibilities

Oversight of the Spear Programme

Spear Foundation is a 4-week initial phase, consisting of 2 group sessions plus a 1:1 with each trainee per week, in which we coach young people around skills and mindsets to support them in returning to work or education, and equip them with the skills to stay there. ​

• Prepare and coach group and 1-1 sessions with the Spear Assistant Coach.
• Oversee all aspects of the programme coordination and delivery.
• Ensure the programme is delivered in line with agreed targets, and report to Resurgo and the church on enrolment, retention and completion of Spear Trainees, as well as their ongoing progress.

Partnership liaison and relationship management

• Build and implement a strategy for developing and maintaining relationships with local referral partners to build the profile of the Spear programme within Ipswich and ensure the young people who would benefit from the programme are able to access it.
• Steward relationships with young people after initial point of contact, to encourage enrolment and ensure a full cohort is enrolled for each programme.

Line management and training

• Manage the Spear Assistant Coach, using a coaching approach to invest in their growth and development.
• Work with and be managed by River Church staff locally, and by a Church Partnerships Manager from Resurgo on a national level, to ensure the flourishing of the Spear centre, its team and young people, and to ensure the fulfilment of our shared mission in Ipswich.
• Work with and report to Resurgo teams on KPIs, and use outcomes data to maximise the effectiveness of the programme.

Supporting River Church’s mission and ministry

• Establish strong relationships with key people at the church to ensure the engagement of church members and to build a network of supporters for the Spear programme, though it is not a requirement of the role for the successful candidate to join River Church as their worshipping community if they are already part of another local church
• Work with the Head of Operations and the Fundraising Assistant to prepare grant funding applications for Spear Ipswich, and provide timely grant reporting.
• Keep the River Church congregation updated on the Spear programme to ensure it is a seamless part of the church’s missional work.

Advocacy Coordinator

Salary: £40,000-£45,000 depending on experience

Location: London (Hybrid - at least 2 days per week in the office)

Would you like to use your understanding of politics and advocacy and your relationship-building skills to tackle injustice? Can you bring people together to work for change? We are seeking to recruit an Advocacy Coordinator to develop and coordinate the delivery of influencing strategies around the identified public policy and advocacy priorities of the Methodist Church and the Joint Public Issues Team. In recent years these have includes issues around poverty, refugees and migration, the environment, the economy, peace and conflict, and politics.

You would be working for the Methodist Church and as part of the ecumenical Joint Public Issues Team, which brings together the Baptist, Methodist and United Reformed Churches, plus associate partners, to work together for peace and justice. It does this through listening, learning, praying, speaking and acting on public policy issues.

You’ll need to bring experience of coordinating campaigns or advocacy initiatives, and a proven ability to build influential relationships and to convene and facilitate groups to enable decision-making and commitment to shared action. You’ll also need a good understanding of UK politics and of the context for public policy development, and to be a great communicator. While there is no requirement that you be a practicing Christian, you should be sympathetic to the mission of the Methodist Church, and share our commitment to seeking justice and to issues of equality, diversity and inclusion.
