Age UK is offering an exciting opportunity for a Programme Manager to develop and deliver funded programmes. This 12 month fixed term contract role will work across a variety of projects aimed at improving older people's wellbeing and will partner with teams from across the organisation to develop new programmes responding to the changing needs of older people.

Working closely with Age UK's Network of 130+ local and independent Network Partners, this role will work across the life cycle of projects, ranging from the development of new concepts through to the implementation and delivery of funded projects. The focus of the role will change according to the needs of the department and the needs of older people in the future.

• Prepare the monthly management accounts, review variances, trends and performance, and identify cost drivers on an ongoing basis.

Duties and key responsibilities: 

Office Maintenance

• Oversee the general maintenance of the office.
• Manage office supplies by tracking office inventory and replenishing supplies including kitchen and stationery.
• Ensure the office and meeting rooms are well-maintained.
• Manage Sarcoma UK storage, ensuring it is fit for purpose.
• Liaise with office contractors and service providers to ensure the office runs efficiently.

Administration

• Be the first point of contact for all enquiries to our telephone switchboard and info@ mailbox, responding in a timely manner to all enquiries and delegating across the team where relevant.
• Manage the daily postal system including opening post and recording donations on the finance spreadsheet.
• Managing deliveries to the office and organising couriers.
• Organise travel and accommodation bookings across the whole charity including fundraising events.
• Organise travel, meetings and staff attendance at events including the British Sarcoma Group conference.
• Make any bookings and arrangements for the team that involve financial transactions, for example booking travel, conferences, training courses, flowers for supporters and event purchases.
• Provide meeting room management, including bookings and catering.
• Carry out ad hoc administrative tasks for other departments when requested e.g. fundraising and information send outs during busy periods or absence.

Health & Safety

• Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures, maintaining a safe working environment in the office. This

The role:

The purpose of this role is to ensure effective, efficient and accurate day-to-day financial management and financial controls for the Fidelity UK and international Foundations, including leading on management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cashflow planning and delivering the annual reports and accounts for all four Foundations. The post holder will prepare all finance papers for Board and Finance and Investment Subcommittee meetings and will support the oversight of the Foundations’ investment portfolios. The person

The successful applicant will have a detailed knowledge of accounting principles, ideally with experience of the charitable sector, and a strong track record of day-to-day financial management in a comparable role. You will have a proficiency in accounting (with a relevant finance qualification) and will be able to evidence the successful production of annual accounts and monthly reporting, ensuring monitoring against budgets. About Black Thrive 

Black Thrive Global (BTG) evolved from the work of the Black Thrive Lambeth (BTL) Partnership, which was established in 2016. We exist to address the inequalities that negatively impact the mental health and wellbeing of Black people so that the thriving of Black communities is the norm. 

Our guiding principle is that Black communities should be at the forefront of reimagining, redefining, and co-creating a society where systemic racism and other oppressive systems have been dismantled so that they have fulfilling lives. We have two priorities – building a Black Thrive Research Institute and embedding race equity in systems change. 

We have grown rapidly since 2021 and so still have a start-up culture and often deal with competing priorities at a fast pace. 

The aim of Black Queer & Thriving is to explore the health and wellbeing needs of Black LGBTQ+ people in Lambeth and Southwark, develop community research that details these needs with the Working Group and use the outcome to influence local policy and infrastructure. 

The purpose of this role is to support the Black Queer & Thriving workstream with the main priorities being: 

• Providing administrative support to the development of the Black LGBTQ+ Working Group, including organising meetings and minute taking; 

• Supporting relationship management with Lambeth and Southwark’s Black LGBTQ+ community; and 

• Leading on a community research project exploring the health and wellbeing experiences of Black LGBTQ+ people in Lambeth and Southwark.

Duties and responsibilities

7. Support the development of the Black LGBTQ+ Working Group, including recruitment, organising meetings and minutes. 

8. Produce and deliver presentations, reports and other materials relevant to the role. 

9. Lead on producing content for internal and external blog posts and digital content across our communication channels to ensure effective communication of Black Thrive’s employment work to relevant audiences. 

10.  Put in place appropriate project and financial management arrangements to ensure the achievement of objectives and milestones relating to the Communities workstream.

You will report on progress to both internal and external stakeholders, becoming the local partners’ ‘critical friend’ and focal point of contact, and support them in setting up new programmes. This may include delivering programme design, training and producing toolkits and resources, and developing evaluation frameworks. You will work with local partners on all aspects of programme delivery, from project implementation, review, monitoring and evaluation and budget management. 

You will have extensive experience of supporting organisations to deliver safe and impactful programmes, with a good understanding of skills development programmes, especially in relation to employability, entrepreneurship and education. This will be coupled with significant experience of working in Sub-Saharan Africa. Specific experience of working in, Sierra Leone and the ability to communicate in the country’s language, Krio would be advantageous and is highly desirable.

We have an exciting, newly created opportunity for an experienced Head of Governance to join RBL and support the development and implementation of a strong governance function.

As Head of Governance, you will be at the centre of advising, supporting and guiding our governance function which services our National Chair, Board of Trustees, Director General and Executive Board.

Reporting to the Chief of Staff, key responsibilities will include:

• Working to ensure our organisation complies with all its legal, constitutional and regulatory requirements
• Overseeing the Assistant Company Secretaries who service the Executive Board, Board of Trustees and its sub-Committees
• Building relationships with Committee Chairs and Executive Directors to ensure smooth running of committees
• Establishing metrics to support the progression of the governance function, and management of governance policy schedule
• Working with the Chief of Staff and Chief Finance Officer to ensure all statutory and regulatory governance, company, and charitable returns are made
• Providing advice on the role and constitution of Board of Trustees, and its relation to the Royal Charter, Committee Terms of Reference, Code of Governance and Scheme of Delegation
• Managing and delivering trustee elections, appointments and the induction of new trustees

What you will bring to the role:

• Understanding of working within a highly regulated environment
• An ability to question and challenge, whilst remaining objective, when delivering organisational priorities
• Ability to juggle competing demands, priorities and stakeholders, with excellent organisational and planning skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to provide insight in a way that is clear, succinct and action orientated across a wide variety of audiences
• Demonstrable line management experience with a strong understanding of growing and developing teams to be high performing

We are looking for a Bid Manager and Writer to join our Bid Team, which is part of the wider Development, Marketing, and Communications Department! You will support the delivery of effective business development strategies and activities to achieve organisational growth and to enhance our existing services!

Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, 09:00 - 17:00 Monday to Friday, based in our central office in Islington, with flexible work from home available. You will also be expected to travel across London and the South East, as well as our other locations to attend market engagement and bid related activities and attend regular service visits.

We're looking for an effective communicator, with a high attention to detail and quality. OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Bid Writing and Management

• Lead in all elements of the bidding process which includes writing competitive bids within strict deadlines.
• Identify, research, and communicate opportunities and needs across the organisation, working proactively with colleagues at all levels to identify fundable initiatives.
• Host internal and external briefings and liaise with relevant teams to develop compelling bids which are fit for purpose, realistic, and aligned with organisational needs and aims.
• Lead the development of specific bid responses which includes the structure, content, and responses. Ensure tenders are submitted on time and achieve the highest scores by the evaluator(s).
• Develop and manage an internal network of subject matter experts and bring them into the development and writing process as required.
• Support colleagues in developing presentations, and briefings.

Partnership Building

• Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships internally throughout the organisation and externally with external partners and organisations.
• Represent Social Interest Group and our subsidiaries in market engagement and events online and in-person and support with all aspects of enhancing and developing our brand.

Organisational Growth

• Identify priorities from strategy and business plans, translating growth plans into effective practices aligned to SIG’s mission, vision, and values.
• Collect and share information relevant to teams involved in Mobilisations and TUPE’s for won bids. Ensure communication is clear, and concise, providing a logical strategy and direction to follow to ensure a smooth transition for new contracts.

Other responsibilities than those described above may be required to be undertaken from time to time and will be expected to be performed to as long as it is within the capability and level of the position. 

KEY CRITERIA

What we are looking for:

• Previous experience in a similar role with similar responsibilities, this includes a track record of securing new bids and/or retaining existing contracts
• Previous experience in bid/proposal writing, reviewing, and editing
• IT Proficiency, ability to learn new software programs, experience in Microsoft, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability and willingness to travel and attend market engagement events and to visit services to gain greater understanding of what SIG offers and to inform teams of relevant tender responses
• Ability to create and write engaging content, with proofreading skills
• Proven ability to prioritise and juggle multiple tasks and competing priorities within a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral and ability to build relationships
• Ability to review large amounts of information and research materials to inform model development and shape tender responses
• Proficiency in navigating tender portals

What we would like, but not essential:

• Previous experience managing the full bidding process end to end from pre market engagement and contract notification, through to award
• Previous experience working in the same or similar sector

SPANA - The Society for the Protection of Animals Abroad is the global charity for working animals in low-income countries. Since 1923, we have supported the welfare of working animals, including donkeys, horses, camels and elephants, in communities that depend on working animals for water, transport, agriculture and their very survival. Today, we support working animals across 26 countries, through a series of global projects and partnerships.

We are looking for a Global Resources Coordinator to ensure operations within our global resources team run smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities include providing general administrative support to different teams within Global Resources, manage supply of office resources and equipment, arrange travel, managing relationships with key suppliers, coordinating schedules and meetings and supporting HR administrative duties.

While we classify this role as hybrid, it's worth noting that the vast majority of your work can be done from the comfort of your own home. Occasional in-person visits to our London office (located in Borough High Street), and all-staff gatherings will be necessary. Our full time hours are 34.5 hours per week and we offer core working hours between 10am and 4pm.

Key responsibilities

• Assist staff and visitors with travel booking and coordination when travelling overseas, including booking flights, arranging visas and travel vaccinations.
• Main contact for travel agent building good working relationship.
• Support the Global Resources Director to coordinate and track all insurance policy renewals.
• Liaise with insurance brokers on renewals to ensure competitive costing and ensure timely renewal for all insurance premiums.
• Maintain and order office supplies, stationery, and equipment from the most competitive suppliers.
• Manage and maintain the fixed asset register.
• Assist with recruitment processes, including posting job adverts, preparing weekly vacancy listing, supporting interviews, checking references, and drafting employment contracts.
• Support induction processes for new joiners.
• Maintain the employee absent management system and support with any changes/updates.
• Preparation of documentation for all aspects of the employee life cycle, including leavers, changes to terms and conditions, maternity and paternity and flexible working requests.
• Support the Global People and EDI Manager to coordinate the appraisal process, ensure appraisals are conducted and collate training needs into a report for review and action.
