Together for Mental Wellbeing is the UK’s oldest mental health charity. Since 1879, we have believed that people experiencing mental distress have the right to live the life they choose and determine their own future.

As our Director of Finance and Resources, you will play a critical leadership role in the ongoing transformation and financial sustainability of Together, ensuring the conditions for our future success. You will be a key advisor to the Chief Executive, the treasurer Trustee and the Board of Trustees in delivering our ambitions for the future, developing and driving innovative, up-to-date and well-planned corporate solutions that shape our Finance, ICT and estates and property management.

Key duties include:

Main duties:

Co-ordinate and service the guidelines Task Forces working groups with their writing groups, managing all administration for meetings.

Maintain and update audit templates data and audits spreadsheet.

Aid Senior Guidelines Officer to add audio and written commentaries to guidelines and good practice papers on website when required.

Help Senior Guidelines Officer with summary, uploads and statistical reporting.

Work with the volunteers to ensure courses are aligned with learner outcomes.

Support the development, delivery and evaluation of the online education programmes and resources in collaboration with Senior Education Officer and relevant staff members/committees members.

We're offering you the opportunity to become the Director of Education of the British Institute of Radiology (BIR), an international membership organisation for everyone working in imaging, radiation oncology and the underlying sciences.

As Director of Education, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the educational direction of the BIR. We're half way through our new five-year strategy, and the education team plays a key role in helping to ensure the BIR remains financially sustainable, offering education to more people, and helping expand the membership. A National Museum renowned for housing once of the finest arts collections in the world is currently seeking an Interim Financial Controller to join the team for an initial 6 month period.

Reporting into the Director of Finance & Resources, the Financial Controller will be responsible for the day-to-day financial management of the organisation and is the first point of contract for internal and external stakeholders. You will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and time financial reporting and produce monthly management accounts.

Duties will include the following:

• Preparation of all routine and ad hoc reports drawn from accounting records
• Production of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis
• Monthly reports for all budget holders
• Coding of all self-generated income, ensuring that recognition complies with the relevant accounting standards  
• Maintenance of the Fixed Asset register (reconciliation performed annually as part of the year end process)
• Payroll reconciliation (payroll is performed by an external third party provider)
• Preparation of the annual budget and periodic reforecasts of budget throughout the year
• Monthly counting and banking of the donation boxes
• Regular monitoring of bank accounts and working capital

• The role will be offered for an anticipated initial period of six months on a daily rate or fixed term
• Hybrid working 2/3 days in the office
• Daily rate – £300-£400pd depending on experience

What are they looking for? 

• A hands-on Financial Controller/Head of Finance
• You may be a Part-qualified or Fully qualified accountant 
• You will be available to start immediately
• Experience working in a charity or arts organisation
• An interest in the Arts is desirable
