The Fundraising Officer at the Childhood Eye Cancer Trust (CHECT) supports a wide range of the charity’s activities, including but not limited to, helping to develop and grow income from individual donors with a focus on developing strong relationships with donors and families; as well as assisting with CHECT’s overall admin and operations.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about helping families affected by retinoblastoma and shares our values to increase awareness through communications and appeals, expanding our social media and website content and supporting our exciting fundraising efforts.

You will have a high level of autonomy and will be given the opportunity to develop new ideas in a role that is varied and flexible. 

Key Objectives of the role:

• To assist the Fundraising Manager on the organisation of events primarily mass participation events
• To assist the Fundraising Manager in providing excellent stewardship to all of CHECT’s supporters
• Management of the fundraising inbox, social media and regular email and telephone communications
• To provide admin and communication support to the wider CHECT team, monitoring the info@inbox and collecting and sending office post

Waterwise is looking for a Head of Commercial Services. This is a new permanent role on our Senior Leadership Team, reporting to the CEO and specifically designed to deliver against the next phase of Waterwise’s journey – increasing our reach and impact on water efficiency both within and beyond the water sector. You’ll be leading and broadening our commercial offer, helping us drive even greater impact in water efficiency, and the income to support it, across the UK. You’ll refine our proposition and pricing of existing services, seeking opportunities to cross-sell additional services to existing audiences, as well as broadening our reach, engaging with completely new audiences and developing and shaping new commercial services aligned to new customer needs. You will have strong experience at senior level in driving commercial impact for good, and everything this involves in terms of income, growth, commercial strategy and delivery, and risk management. You’ll be working closely with our Board, and reporting to the CEO and the Board on finance and risk.

We are looking for an experienced Housing Advisor with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who is passionate about enabling people to overcome homelessness and poverty.  You will have gained a minimum of two years’ experience of housing advice and casework through paid or other voluntary experience. A legal qualification would be an advantage.

You will be part of a friendly and supportive team of experienced housing advisors and welfare rights specialists.  You will use your in-depth knowledge and experience of providing specialist housing advice to provide a structured information, advice and casework service to clients of the centre in housing law, housing options and aspects of welfare benefits that relate to housing and homelessness. You will manage your own caseload and provide advice, support and training to staff who are not specialists in this area to enable them to assist clients with less complex enquiries.

You will be able to draw on the support offered by colleagues from the Centre’s other teams (Assessment and Advice, Immigration, Employment and Learning, Family Services and Supported Accommodation) to ensure that your clients have access to the help need not only to deal with their immediate housing problem, but also to tackle any underlying issues and to build resilience against similar issues arising again.

About the position 

This is an exciting opportunity to create change at scale, informing and promoting a practical transition to plant-based diets, in order to reduce the number of animals suffering in factory farms. Part of our Farmed Animal Campaigns team, the role will work to increase the quality and availability of plant-based options with major caterers and universities in the UK, impacting hundreds of thousands of meals daily. 

This role also includes an opportunity to support the delivery of a campaign to end the use of farrowing crates, one of the worst forms of cruelty to farmed animals in the UK today. In this role you will support the Senior Manager for Farmed Animal Campaigns to create public-facing campaign assets, and develop compelling research to underpin our policy and industry engagement.

• Work with consultants to develop and deliver our Forward Food culinary training programme to food service professionals, to support their understanding of plant-based food and marketing, and their role in the just protein transition.  

• Identify and support opportunities to encourage people to eat fewer animal products, including working with media and celebrity ambassadors. 

• Conduct environmental impact assessments on menus and food procurement to effectively monitor and report on progress towards meat-reduction goals 

• Deliver compelling and informed advocacy to UK political stakeholders to encourage the adoption of policies that catalyse a just protein transition and better farmed animal welfare. 

• Support development and delivery of HSI UK’s farmed animal campaigns strategies  

• Research and present on industry-related trends and developments in the plant-based food market and alternatives to cage confinement.  

About you

You’ll be a proactive self-starter, and someone who brings positive energy to work within teams. The YWF Youth Voice Coordinator Role

This role offers an exciting opportunity to coordinate and lead YWF’s revamped youth engagement initiatives. Key responsibilities:

• Lead the development and delivery of a cost effective individual donor recruitment strategy
