Role Summary     

With Alcohol Change UK’s innovative Try Dry® app welcoming more users than ever before, we are excited to be developing our offer to Local Authorities which will benefit from receiving valuable local health data trends and insights taken from our app. This role will be instrumental in designing a refreshed product, recruiting new Local Authorities to join us and providing ongoing support to them to make a real difference to those drinking at risky levels in communities across the UK.   

Key Tasks and Responsibilities   

Development of a Try Dry local product   

• With the Senior Digital Programme Manager, take learnings from existing contracts with Local Authorities and develop a refreshed package of support to market to Local Authorities, enabling them to gain valuable insights into the drinking behaviours of people in their local area  

• Develop professional, standardised reports to be shared with those who have signed up   

• Develop a ‘package’ of benefits (access to local data, insights, tailored marketing materials, additional support) that makes signing up a more compelling offer   

• Working with our digital agency, recommend ongoing technical improvements to the app and reporting platform to improve user experience   

Recruiting to a Try Dry Local ‘network’  

• Recruit new Local Authority members to our Try Dry ‘network’ – presenting regularly to Local Authority clients and demonstrating the benefits of membership through presentations and marketing calls   

• With support from other staff, develop wider marketing approaches across multiple channels, including digital, print and social media advertising  

• Attend conferences, events and trade shows to advertise as appropriate  

• Work with colleagues in our Consultancy and Training team to explore opportunities for cross promotion   

 Relationship Management   

• Provide ongoing support to Local Authority clients, acting as a first point of contact    

• Prepare data reports for each Local Authority throughout the year  

• Share insights into local data in engaging, easy to understand ways   

Wider support for the Communications and Marketing team   

• Enable other members of staff to use insights from the Try Dry® app and local user data in their work, evidencing the difference that our Behaviour Change interventions can make to individuals   

• Support the development of a range of content to highlight the benefits of the Try Dry® app, particularly around key campaigns such as Dry January, Alcohol Awareness Week and Sober Spring  

• Particularly during our Dry January campaign period (December – January) provide additional support for the team across a range of roles

• Support the Senior Digital Programme Manager to monitor income and expenditure for the Try Dry Local programme   

• Work closely with colleagues across the charity to support their work and to act as ‘one team’  

• Contribute actively and positively to charity-wide strategies

• Act as a positive ambassador for Alcohol Change UK at all times

About the role

Each of the Support Network Coordinators have the responsibility for delivering, maintaining, and expanding the support services available to people with SCI and their families in their region of the UK. The post coordinates two vital parallel strands:

• In your region, to reach and support newly injured people, those who have been living with spinal cord injury longer term, their friends and families:
  • developing a strong partnership with all available specialist services, charity and business partners; managing a dedicated team of volunteers as well as providing direct support to people with SCI with more complex support needs.
• Nationally, working to facilitate the link between people with SCI and SIA and partner services:
  • Referring people with SCI and their families to our clinical/ health expert support teams and advocacy services; working with the Digital Engagement team to build on-line links to regional partners in your area; supporting fundraising, campaigns and communications.

This is the job for you if you’re good at:

• Building strong relationships – you’ll be talking to everyone from people with SCI and their families, to healthcare professionals, solicitors and partners who deliver key services
• Identifying opportunities – to expand SIA’s portfolio of services, we’ll need your knowledge of organisations and individuals that provide services to those affected by spinal cord injury
• Engaging people – whether it’s service users or your team of volunteers, the success of our work relies on you being able to keep people engaged with what we’re doing
• Being organised – managing your own diary, keeping in touch with your contacts, ensuring your volunteers are being utilised effectively, providing support to those in greatest need, referring to internal & external service providers and keeping records of the support SIA is delivering
• Providing life-changing support to those that need it most – you'll be facing up to the most difficult challenges our service users face
• Making the ask – whether it’s growing the fundraising activities that underpin the charity, securing the use of a venue for a support group meeting, or ensuring healthcare professionals are promoting our services

You will lead them in line with the vision, mission and values of the charity and work to fulfil the goals of our strategic plan. You will manage our volunteer-led Branches and Support groups who offer peer support, fundraising opportunities and activities locally. You will also manage HD Voice, our panel of volunteers, who contribute to the internal development of the charity and ensure that the voice of the Huntington’s community is at the heart of research into the condition.

You will co-ordinate all aspects of the volunteer journey from recruitment, selection, induction, training and ongoing support and develop effective policies, procedures and guidance for volunteers as well as developing an effective monitoring and evaluation process.

We are looking for someone with strong volunteer management skills who has experience of training volunteers and of writing policies, procedures and guidance in line with data protection guidance. Also someone with great communication and relationship management skills who has experience of managing volunteers at all stages of their volunteer journey.   

There will be regular evening and weekend work as many of our volunteers work themselves so need the support out of office hours. There will be a need for travel across England and Wales.

Job Purpose 

Sitting within BSR’s exciting External Affairs & Audit team the Clinical Audit Administrator plays a crucial role in supporting the on-going work of the National Early Inflammatory Arthritis Audit (NEIAA) to gather evidence and drive up the quality of care for patients living with inflammatory arthritis. With touch points across the Rheumatology community, the NHS and health regulators, the NEIAA project is an essential tool in achieving this part of our five-year strategy. At a busy and important time for the NEIAA project this is a fantastic opportunity for those looking to develop their organisational, project management and stakeholder relation skills as we work towards producing our 6th ‘State of the Nation’ report and securing an extension of the Audit contract. 

Main responsibilities

• To provide administrative support to the NEIAA project manager such as setting up business processes, engaging with stakeholders and managing the audit mailbox as the first point of contact.
• Liaise with the governance groups for the audit project and assist with the coordination of NEIAA meetings by preparing agendas, taking minutes, and undertaking follow-up actions.
• To assist in the development of communications around the NEIAA project including with the Annual Report.
• Work closely with the Project Manager to encourage participation with the audit from Trusts and Health Boards.
• To support the project manager in the planning and smooth running of the NEIAA project plan.
• To maintain high standards of confidentiality and information governance across all aspects of data collection and storage.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Event Organiser & Fundraiser to become part of the ambitious Events Team at LOROS. As Mass Participation Events Officer, you will line manage an Event Coordinator, and together take the lead on some of our biggest and most well-attended events, including the LOROS Twilight Walk, the Rothley 10K, LOROS’ Charity Bike Ride, our Hospice Open Day, and be significant drivers behind The Run Leicester Festival.

You will be commercially minded; bringing fresh ideas to our established LOROS events and campaigns in order to help increase profit, as well as championing the participant experience to ensure that people spread the word and come back year on year. You will need to match the passion we have for events and bring a drive and willingness to succeed.

To be successful, you will have excellent organisational skills, a great eye for detail, initiative and must be able to work well under pressure.  You must have experience of managing multiple projects successfully, as well as an Events and/or Fundraising background.

The ideal applicant will be passionate, committed and results driven with a great work ethic. The applicant will be willing and able to work long hours over weekend and evenings during busy event periods.

LOROS Hospice is a local charity and every year we care for over 2,500 people across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. We deliver free, high-quality, compassionate care and support to terminally ill patients, their family and carers.

About the PVRI
We’re a small charity with a global reach and an important purpose: to reduce the burden of pulmonary vascular disease.

PVD is a serious condition which can lead to heart damage and trigger symptoms like breathlessness, chest pain, fatigue, poor growth, fainting and light-headedness. It can reduce both quality of life and length of life, but it isn’t widely recognised, or well-understood.

We bring together an international network of professionals to improve clinical care, education and PVD research. The network comprises thousands of clinicians, scientists, academics and industry partners, supported by our small team in Bermondsey, London. Together we deliver conferences, e-learning, an academic journal, and we raise awareness of the condition.

Much of the work is done by international working groups, and we’re seeking a new Project Coordinator to provide administrative and project support to those groups.

About the role
The job involves co-ordinating and servicing meetings across different time zones, maintaining workgroup records, developing surveys, pulling together academic papers for publication, event planning, and project work.

We’re looking for someone with excellent organisational and administrative skills, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to write and adapt complex information to produce clear, accurate and accessible documents in English. As the main point of contact for project progress, you'll oversee reporting, risk management, and budgeting, ensuring smooth operations from start to finish. You'll also manage contracts with third parties, assigning of tasks, co-ordinating timescales and managing deliverables.
