Joining part of our senior leadership team as an interim Operations Director in London for a minimum fixed period of 12 months, with a possible extension to cover a period of leave.
While this role is fixed term, Dimensions are a large and growing organisation in this sector and further opportunities may become available for a successful candidate.
A secondment opportunity can only be arranged with the consent of the employee and their line manager. Employees must obtain the agreement of their substantive line manager before applying for a secondment post.

You will take on direct line management responsibilities for our London Locality managers, who are registered with CQC.
Whilst the position is home based, there is an expectation that the Operations Director will regularly visit the homes and be there for their teams as and when required, with a keen focus on the development of quality and practice through great leadership. (Key areas of travel in London will be North West, North and North East London).
As Dimensions is part of a National Organisation, there will be a requirement for the post holder to attend occasional meetings outside of the region, but these will be limited to supporting personal and professional development and to connectivity with peers and access to a wider support network.

Your main duties will include:
- Understanding the needs and outcomes of the people living in the London area, along with the standards expected for the delivery of care by CQC.
- Leading a group of Locality Managers who report directly to you, ensuring that they manage and lead their teams in an effective way in line with Dimensions values.
- Leading managers, teams and stakeholders to work collaboratively, making a positive difference for the people we support.
- Ensuring minimum standards are understood and adhered to, while striving for excellence in line with people’s personal choices and person centred outcomes.
- Working in partnership with the regional leadership team to deliver on regional goals and initiatives.

- A great knowledge and understanding of supported living and registered care support for people with a learning disability.

About us:
At Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice we care for children and young people whose lives are just too short. Our aim is to reach every family that needs our help and to offer them the very best choice of care. Did you know that every year we need to raise £5m to keep our doors open and only around 20 percent of our income comes from government sources? The rest has to be raised through fundraising activity.
Our services include short overnight stays and community breaks at home or in the hospice. We also support the whole family from diagnosis with our multi-disciplinary Family Support team who provide counselling, sibling support groups, music therapy and much more. Our care team supports these families in our modern, purpose built building. All our rooms/bedrooms have a homely feel. We have a sensory room, spa pool, cinema room and six acres of gardens.
We support families from a large geographical area, including South Yorkshire, North Nottinghamshire, North Derbyshire and parts of North Lincolnshire. The hospice is easily accessible from Barnsley, Rotherham, Doncaster, Sheffield and North Notts. We have free secure on-site parking for families and staff to use.
The role
In your role as Regional Fundraising Manager, you will lead and develop a team of seven to raise invaluable funds and brand awareness of the hospice. Working with the Income Generation and Communications Director you will work towards a devised strategy for fundraising across key income streams including Events, Corporate and Community. You will plan an annual fundraising calendar of activity and campaigns and work to agreed KPIs and objectives to build a resilient and robust income plan, managing and supporting your team to achieve these objectives. Taking the lead for corporate engagement you will both develop new relationships and nurture existing supporters.
As part of your role as a manager you will be a strong advocate in teaching and demonstrating Bluebell Wood’s culture to your staff and those around you, embedding the vision of the hospice in everyone who works with us. You will play a leading role in the organisation’s strategy implementation, giving real focus to how your team plays a part in this, whilst enthusing your team to be the best version of themselves, empowering people to succeed at their role.
This role is full-time and permanent and comes with a range of excellent benefits including 33 days annual leave. This role is based at the hospice in Sheffield and the charity will offer a blend of office/home/remote working.

To be considered for this role you will ideally come to us with broad fundraising experience across all areas of Fundraising particularly Corporate, Community and Events. You should be a confident, experienced line manager with experience operating at a senior strategic level. As an individual you will bring resilience, agility, empathy, drive, creativity and most importantly stability. We hope to see strong knowledge of fundraising codes of practice, fundraising trends and sector legalities. Discovery, based in Somerset, is now becoming a strategic partner working with Cornwall Council to support people with a learning disability and autistic adults in Cornwall.
At first we will take responsibility for improving the way people are supported in a small number of existing residential care homes, with the prospect of supporting more people once we’ve demonstrated success.
The Operations Director is a member of Discovery’s senior team, with direct line management responsibilities for Locality Managers, many of whom will be Registered Managers with the Care Quality Commission. Whilst the position is home based, we expect that the Operations Director will regularly visit the people we support in their home. You’ll guide your team, focusing on ways to improve quality and practice. In addition, you’ll be expected to work closely with the Business Development team to assess opportunities to support more people within the county, including those currently supported Out of Area. You’ll be able to access a wider support network by working closely with peers from Discovery and Dimensions in other parts of the country; There will be regular virtual and face to face opportunities to share knowledge and for personal and professional development.

Purpose of the Job
To strategically lead and manage our existing CYP services that range from being both clinical and non clinical (Mental Health Support Teams in Schools, Circle crisis prevention café for children and young people, Whole School Approach, Be Kind to Your Mind). To develop and grow a portfolio of children and young people’s mental health services.

Growth and Development
- To lead, develop and maintain the strategy, business plan and budget for Youth Services.
- To lead on service development through the identification of unmet needs, local priorities and project opportunities and the development of proposals and bids.
- To work closely with the CEO and Head of Business Development on potential new funded projects, writing or inputting into proposal/bids.
- To support the development of outreach and communications materials about services and impact.
Lead on Projects
- To provide overall leadership and oversight for project contracts.
- To oversee the implementation of needs assessments and data analysis to ensure that services are relevant to the needs of stakeholders and meet identified service gaps.
- To ensure that KPIs for all projects are met and have continuous oversight of this and any improvement actions that need to be taken.
- To lead and oversee effective monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL) systems (both qualitative and quantitative) evidence base are in place, monitoring key outcomes of the service and produce quality reports.

Since its creation in 1987 Education for Health has been providing education and training to Healthcare Professionals. This is a pivotal time for the charity; the pandemic had an adverse impact on our income as weary healthcare professionals had no time or energy to devote to training. However, it provided us with an ideal opportunity to refresh our products using state of the art authoring tools and develop a new Learning Management System (LMS). The result was an ambitious automation programme, organisational restructure and functional realignment.
We also used the time to review our market and create new products. By bringing together sales, marketing, communications and customer focus into one directorate, we believe it will create a better coherence to enable us to achieve our ambitious plans. We have started the new financial year on a good footing with a plan in place to grow income from £1.5million to £1.8million this financial year, with similar growth each year to 2025. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be a highly competent, diligent, and compassionate individual with prior expertise in a senior finance position in either the charity sector, the NHS or similar organisation. You will lead the Finance Team, managing all accounting and financial activities within the charity, and ensuring ongoing financial viability. The role will have a shared corporate responsibility for leadership, strategic planning and financial management and will be involved in liaising with and influencing external stakeholders as required.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with current membership of a recognised accountancy body, and will be educated to degree-level, or possess equivalent financial qualifications.
You will have extensive management experience, including substantial participation at Board level, and will be experienced in business planning and budget setting at a senior level. You will be competent in developing and implementing financial strategy and will possess a sound knowledge of understanding of accounting and taxation.

The Director of Programs oversees the management of Grassroot Soccer’s priority partnership geographies (Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Zimbabwe) while strengthening the technical assistance to Partners in all geographies as well as coordinating new partnerships globally. The Grassroot Soccer Partnerships (GP) team stewards GRS relationships with a wide range of partner organizations globally. The GP team supports these organizations to integrate the GRS model into their adolescent health strategies and coordinates the remote and in person technical support to these organizations to increase their capacity to deliver GRS interventions. This technical assistance includes but is not limited to program design, product development, monitoring and evaluation, Coach development, program optimization, youth engagement, and research.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee Grant Management across all Priority Partnership Geographies (40%)

From grant kickoff stage to grant close out, ensure Program Managers (PMs) for priority partnership geographies (Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Zimbabwe) execute grants and meet deliverables on time and on budget

Manage team of Program Coordinators (PCs) and/or Program Assistants to ensure each of the PMs has the necessary support and resources for grant execution throughout the grant life cycle

About the Role
MSI Reproductive Choices seeks an exceptional Deputy Project Director to lead an anticipated five-year, USAID-funded global family planning activity, Accelerating ChoiCe, Equity, and Sustainability for Services (ACCESS).
ACCESS will focus on advancing equitable, affordable, and sustainable access to family planning and reproductive health (FP/RH) information, products, and services in ways that ensure client dignity, agency, choice, and good health, particularly for youth. Through local capacity strengthening and substantial engagement of local partners and stakeholders in the innovation and scale-up of evidence-informed and rights-based FP/RH service delivery, ACCESS will achieve significant FP/SRH outcomes at the system, facility, provider, community, and client levels. The Deputy Project Director will be responsible for ensuring a smooth and efficient start-up for ACCESS, the effective day-to-day management of ACCESS core activities, and oversight of buy-in activities. They will lead the development and implementation of annual work plans, budgets, and reports, and oversee the monitoring and evaluation of results. ABOUT THE ROLE
The purpose of this role is to maximise the income and profit sustainability of a multi-site and multi format retail business through the effective management of people, resources and budgets. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work closely with the Associate Retail Commercial Director to provide expertise, leadership, vision and guidance, to drive forward the strategic direction of the retail operation and deliver outstanding performance in all aspects of charity retail.
- Develop, implement and manage the necessary practices, systems, and controls to ensure the operational, financial and administrative compliance necessary to deliver an efficient retail operation.
- Lead on the expansion of the existing shop portfolio including: sourcing, costing & planning of new shops including shop-fitting, staff recruitment & opening. Working with the Associate Retail Commercial Director and Governance Manager on lease negotiations and securing lease completions.
- To grow and develop the Ecommerce division supporting both the Ecommerce Manager and Donation Centre Manager in online innovation and expansion.
- Work closely with the Volunteer Manager to create a culture of volunteer empowerment and development focusing on volunteer recruitment, management and retention throughout the retail department.
- Work closely with the Associate Retail Commercial Director to build productive relationships across EHAAT to ensure that the retail team are part of the wider charity team, and are able to advocate for the charity with customers and other supporters.
- Work with the Fundraising Team to embed shared fundraising and retail incentives to drive new income streams and open opportunities for both departments.
- Work with the marketing team and other key retail staff to further develop the customer experience, ensuring the interior design and quality is in keeping with the required profile. Ensure that shop managers adhere to brand guidelines and that messaging in relation to the work of the charity is visible and impactful.
- Represent EHAAT in the community and public domain as appropriate. Ensuring that relationships in the community are managed in a way that achieves the best outcome for all parties.
- Maintain an up to date knowledge of the charity retail market and the activities of other local charitable organisations to identify market gaps and new opportunities.
- Develop and maintain strong relations with external retail volunteer support and chair quarterly retail working groups meetings.
- Lead a diverse retail division for EHAAT ensuring that a culture of inclusiveness is promoted throughout the department
Operational Responsibilities
- Lead, support and motivate the retail team, managing performance or conduct issues as required – this includes direct line management of the Area Manager, Ecommerce Manager and Donation Centre Manager with whom you will be expected to conduct regular documented 1:1s.
- Ensure that timely and appropriate communication and feedback mechanisms are in place for your team and volunteers, engaging, and encouraging contribution. Ensure the wider charity is kept up to date with relevant retail activity through team meetings charity team events.
- Work with the Associate Retail Commercial Director to plan, set and manage the annual retail operating budget, reforecast quarterly as appropriate and take steps to address underperformance.
- Monitor and evaluate the commercial performance of each shop and Ecommerce division, maximise profit across the portfolio and report to the Associate Retail Commercial Director monthly about the continued viability of each.
- Deal with all property matters in respect of their on-going management, maintaining and updating the existing property database of leases and subleases. To be across all expiry dates, break notices, rent reviews and other relevant matters with all retail leases.
- Take overall responsibility for the Donation Centre through supporting the Donation Centre Manager to ensure the development of excellent warehouse, sorting and transport operations in order to maintain sufficient stock available for all shops and ecommerce.
- Work closely with the Head of Workplace and workplace team to ensure all retail operations are compliant with health and safety policies and standards. Ensure a robust and efficient process is maintained for all workplace reported concerns or incidents and are addressed in a timely manner.
- Ensure all investigations into reported accidents, incidents and near misses are carried out without delay and appropriate action is taken to prevent a reoccurrence by either immediately remedying the defect or implementing control measures to prevent the situation from deteriorating or reoccurring.
- Implement a structured approach to using data in the analysis of sales.
- Lead an excellent customer service ethic across the business ensuring this is monitored through initiatives such as mystery shopping.
- Ensure that Gift Aid procedures, processes and claims are completed within the agreed time frames.
- Develop an online retail shop via the EHAAT website to offer pre-loved goods. Set operational structure and budgetary targets.
- Develop and control EHAAT’s charity merchandise from design through to purchase. Working with external suppliers to produce a range of sellable and profitable goods that develops the charities community awareness.
- Undertake any other tasks, duties or responsibilities as requested by your line manager or other senior manager, including the Board of Trustees and Chief Executive.
