Purpose and Key Responsibilities:
The Volunteer Manager role is responsible for recruiting, engaging and deploying volunteers into a wide variety of roles across the charity.
- Work with the Warehouse Manager and Food Distribution teams to support the recruitment journey and retention of volunteers. Encourage people to volunteer through a variety of marketing and promotion approaches, including social media and working with our Communications and Fundraising team to develop a strategy for volunteers. Develop, coordinate, and engage a network of around 150 active volunteers. Book and signpost volunteers to relevant and engaging volunteer training sessions. Work with the Warehouse Manager and Head of Food Distribution and Volunteering to resolve any volunteering related issues or complaints. Proactively liaise with the staff team to determine volunteer requirements, select volunteers for the right roles and match them to the right people, considering preferences and restrictions on both sides. Provide advice and guidance to volunteers about their matched relationship (with support from the wider team) and highlight safeguarding concerns as appropriate. Work effectively to ensure volunteers feel part of Hackney Foodbank. Support the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of our services.
- Gathering volunteer feedback and take appropriate steps for improvement.
- Manage the Assemble platform and implement the annual Peakon volunteer survey, and implement the recommendations resulting from the survey.
- Ensure the wellbeing of the volunteers, including good communication and arranging a minimum of two volunteer events a year.
Skills and Experience
Essential:
- A minimum of three years’ experience of coordinating, managing or supervising a team of volunteers, to deliver a range of service delivery tasks.
- Experience working within the voluntary community and/or charity sector.
- Experience or aptitude to manage and deliver induction and training courses.
- Committed to building an inclusive culture in which all volunteers are valued.
- Ability to work under own initiative with minimal supervision, accuracy and attention to detail and to prioritise workload to meet all agreed deadlines.
- Reliable and adaptable, able to respond to changing priorities
- Ability to deal with information in a confidential manner, respond with sensitivity to the opinions of others and address any issues raised in a fair and consistent manner

Job Overview

The Independent Training, delivered in collaboration with IPCAPA at the British Psychotherapy Foundation (bpf) and the Anna Freud Centre/UCL is seeking progress advisors to support 4-5 trainees on the Doctorate in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy training from the start of their training through to completion.
This is an exciting opportunity to guide and support trainees in their development as future child psychotherapists. The successful postholders will liaise with the year 1 tutor, clinical and research tutors, service supervisors and intensive case supervisors. There will be regular team meetings with the year tutor other progress advisors responsible for the year group. Outside of this, working hours are flexible.
We are looking for ACP registered Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapists with current CAMHS experience, who have an active interest in working with our year tutor and staff group to support trainees’ progress. The role may suit new career CAPts who wish to develop connections and experience within the field of CAPy training schools. There will be the opportunity to take advantage of in-house training to become an Intensive Case Supervisor and for additional paid hours of clinical teaching such as practice or clinical seminar groups as appropriate.

· Communication with the trainees as their allocated advisor
· Support trainees to fulfil their training requirements for qualification
· Assess trainees’ progress and communicate with the Year Tutor and other staff as appropriate

Pershore Plus Volunteer Centre are working in partnership with Wychavon District Council to recruit a Communications and Community Builder to work in and around Pershore and the surrounding villages.
The contract is for an initial 18-month term.
The initial focus of the Community Builder role is to research and establish a deep understanding of the area, collaborating with local residents and existing organisations to uncover the key community assets and skills of local residents.
The role involves ‘Supporting and encouraging residents to be active in their local community and helping them to take the lead on topics that are important to them.’
Confident at all levels and ‘have an interest in community led projects and services.
“As part of the role we also want someone to help showcase the work to the community and play a lead role in our communications. This means we can share community stories, local information, and the work of our organisation to inspire others to get involved.”
You will have the skills to create graphics, infographics, videos, and posters and also be competent at event organisation.
The successful applicant will be motivated, flexible in working hours, and a real people-person. Access to a vehicle to get around the area is desirable for which expenses will be paid.
The role is based within the team at Pershore Plus Volunteer Centre and is an exciting new role, with potential to make a significant long-lasting impact in the Pershore and south - Wychavon neighbourhoods and communities
